5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

My husband and I stayed here 4 nights and would recommend it to anyone wanting a very nice hotel at a good price, with an amazing breakfast. After biking around the temples all day, it was nice to come back and relax by the pool for a few hours. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Wonderful stay.

We decided to have a better dinner one evening during our stay in Siem Reap and ended up at Terrasse Des Elephants where we had a lovely nd very tasty dinner with the greatest and nicest service from the very smiling staff.
As a starter I went for the Papaya & Schrimp salad, yummy :-)
We both choose the Beef Tenderloin which I can only recommend.
I discovered a toothpick in my meal, I told the waiter and he was very sorry. Several of the staff members apoligzed and they ended up given us the second glass of wine for free.
GO there and explore the wonderfull food - I will definitely go again!!

Excellently located hotel, in one of the best corners of beautiful Siem Reap. Personnel extremely friendly and helpful. Swimming pool very nice. The room I had (104), first floor, quite strange, floor with irregular stones like street stones, douche and sink separated and accessible through 2 steps, no privacy possible because only separated via a small curtain from room, what inevitably produces splashes over the floor. Decor is quite kitsch. Bed is beautiful with mosquito protection. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights over New Year and didn’t want to leave! This is a lovely quirky hotel with exceptionally attentive staff. Our room was split level, very decorative and really comfortable. The pool area is nice and very welcoming after a day visiting the temples. Breakfast was good and they serve decent coffee! I’d definitely go back to this hotel.

This small hotel is probably one of the best experience Ive had in a while. The staff are excellant and make every accomadation to make your trip memorable. Its location is fantastic, within walking distance to the main restaurants and bars etc. It has a great little pool thats perfect after a day in the heat with a night time bar and restaurant beside it. Siem Reap has A LOT of sterile large hotels on busy rds out of town, i cannot understand why you would stay in these when you have options such as terrasse.

Hint. Accross the road is the school of angkor traditional arts which is an excellant half hour look round and a great shop that sells the hand crafted good made in the school!

Room Tip: Request a room on the first or second floor

We travel over Vietnam and Cambodia for few weeks alternating mini hotel and home stay with nice hotel. The price of terrasse des elephants is pretty high compared to the average price of hotel in these countries. The decor and atmpsphere was great...wood all over, with sculptures and fountains in the room...the style was very "asian".
Problem was that towels were very smelly....they were clean I suppose but so smelly that odour was passed on our skin.
Breakfast not that great.
Again overall the hotel was very nice but considering that it was the most expensive were we stayed I would say it did not worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor

Terrasse des Elephants is in a great spot just adjacent to the old market, near the river, and a 5 minute walk from the night market and dozens of restaurants and shops. I can't image a better location in the town. The hotel itself has the funkiest rooms I've ever seen. Large and spread out, they all have reliefs and carvings of some sort inside. Our room was a little difficult to maneuver as the toilet was on one side, the shower was fairly open in another area, and the sink was up a couple of steps in yet another corner. It's not customer friendly if you have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. Our room was on the fourth floor and the hotel does not have an elevator so if you are at all physically-challenged, this is not the place for you. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast is excellent. The pool on the roof is also a nice perk. I'd stay here again but I would probably insist on a room on a lower floor.
