The heart is in the right place for most foreigners but this place HURTS instead of helps. Do a quick google search before you go, please!

We have been visiting this orphanage for 4 years and over that time we have seen an incredible amount of work done to improve the conditions for the children. We have donated money for specific items such as fans, whiteboards, food, toiletries, stationary etc all of which we have proof have been purchased. We have been delighted to see other money donated being used for new shower blocks, new dormitories, water pump, kitchen and library.
The children are absolutely beautiful, and very well looked after. It always impresses me that the children are able to eat as much as they want, even though the food is simple, the children are never hungry.
The children like a lot of children all around the world love to perform and their show is awesome. Contrary to comments I have read the same children do not perform every night, they take turns.
The absolute most important thing is that these beautiful children have a safe place to live, food to eat and the opportunity to be educated.

I don't necessarily agree with people who want to shut down all 'orphanages'. It's a more complex issue than whether the children have a living parent(s) or not. What I don't agree with are places like this where you are lied to from the moment you walk in through the gate.

Everything there is wrong, ridiculous quotes for the price of school/food/pocket money(?), information about schemes that on closer inspection don't appear to exist, claims of a million dollar budget to run the organization's programs.

To everyone who has written a positive review, or will do in the future, please only give what can't be taken away from the children. Please make sure that you see it being given to them. Please don't think you can judge this place from a single visit.

The children there are special and worthy of your love.

We debated going to this show with our 3 young children thinking that they would enjoy the experience as they love dancing; then we did loads of research on this Cambodian 'issue'.
Have a look at www.thinkchildsafe.org
Our tour guide was very diplomatic when we asked him on his views of this show. I really believe that the positive views provided on TA below are well meant, but this is simply child tourism - please support in other ways and avoid going to this show.
I quote from Friends-International brochure that I have picked up at Friends cafe in Phnom Penh; "For tourists who believe they are doing good by visiting the children directly, major findings show that visiting orphanages impacts negatively on children's development and supports a system that is contributing to the separation of families."

People have different ideas about this orphanage but let me tell you that it is a really business.
We can say it has 2 faces, one for orphans and one for owner and hid family. However, it is a real business for his family.
I found out and know that this guy before ran Foreign Languages Center and it bankrupted...and then he runs this orphanage till now. there are some some foreign volunteers working there but they know nothing about this organization.
