Stayed here only a night because we wanted a "cheap" hotel since our flight arrived at night (and booked another hotel a month ahead) But definitely a keeper. Unbeatable prices, friendly staff, very approachable owner. Great location - 2 mins tuktuk ride from pub street.

The hotel and staff were excellent. We were met at the airport as promised and taken directly to the hotel. We arrived at 8:30 am and were able to check in to our rooms at that time.
We were then taken to tour many temples at Angkor. We didn't have an arranged itinerary but our driver took us to some great sights. We then had a fabulous lunch and toured some more.
The next 2 days were spent with Sam. Find him at samtuktuk@yahoo.com. He was great! He spent some time with us at the hotel the previous day to set up an itinerary. On our first day we took his car (a/c) to Banteay Srei which is about 20 km north of Angkor. We drove through many villages and rice paddies. Sam was great. He has a great knowledge of the history of the temples and the surroundings. We visited some more temples and had an excellent lunch with Sam. He thinks of everything! From cold water to cold towelettes after your hot walk through the temples.
On our last day we really wanted to go to Angkor Wat. A word of advice ladies, you must dress appropriately. Knees and shoulders must be covered or you will not be allowed onto the third level of the temple.
Sam was so accommodating. We have a 15 year old boy and 12 year old girl, he knew that 3 full days of temples would be too much for them. Each of us wanted to do something different our last day and we had a 4:45 flight! We were able to fit in Angkor Wat, a drive to the lake (no time to see the floating village) but Sam took us through a temple and explained everything to us. From the cremation to the burial crypse and the explanation of the Buddhist Faith. We also fit in more shopping, lunch, and a trip to the massage parlor where everyone had a different service. My son really enjoyed the fish munching on his feet.
I highly recommend this hotel. Beds are comfortable, rooms are cool, breakfast was good and the bar was great! Try the Singapore Sling, it is the best!
I couldn't imagine touring the temples of Angkor and Siem Reap without Sam. His personality is so uplifting and genuine. I hope to be back!
One other tip...everything you purchase in Siem Reap, from food to tickets to Angkor to souvenirs, is paid in US CASH. The local ATMs will give you US cash if you arrive without.
Have a fun and safe trip.

From what I have been told, this is an one year old hotel. It's about 10-15 minutes walk from the old market.

This is a basic hotel but everything you need is there. Beds are firm and comfortable. Hot water shower supply is consistent and air-conditioning functions well. The room is well maintained and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you are looking for value, then this is one of the hotels you can consider.

You can hire a driver/car through the hotel and this was what we did. I was completely satisfied with our driver (thank you again, Mr Smey!) who had gone the extra mile to make our trip that much more enjoyable. We would have missed a few important Angkor sites had he not given us "overtime". Again, I recommend you check out his services if you need transportation.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from night spot next to hotel.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. The staff was very accommodating and nice. I was traveling with my husband and we had a fantastic time with their Tuk Tuk driver Sam! (you can book him via email samtuktuk@yahoo.com). Sam was very nice and trustworthy. He took us around Angkor Wat for 2 days of really nice temple exploring and then helped us find how to get to Future of Khmer Children Organization (http://khmerchild.org/) where we volunteered for 2 days. They are a very young organization with lots of promise and a fantastic mission.

We chose this hotel after reading positive reports on this site, after our experience in the Philippines early in the year this decision was made with some caution. We were not disappointed on this occasion. Location is just outside the busy tourist area but close enough to walk to Pub Street and the restaurants [if you don't want to spend the $1 on a Tuk Tuk]. The hotel is clean, convenient and comfortable. Staff at Angkok Pearl were wonderful overall but a special mention should go to Mr Theoung and Ms Maly at reception and Ms Sok Heng and Ms Soro the housekeepers on the 3rd floor. We had taken the special offer on the web but because of a better offer after we arrived we stayed in one of the suites [$30]. When we return to Siem Reap we will seek accomodation here.

Room Tip: Ask and then inspect - staff don't mind

We stayed at the Angkor Pearl hotel at the end of last month. The angkor pearl is a great hotel. The staff is all very friendly, helpful, and there for you if you need anything. The room was very clean and spacious. It was in walking distance to pub street, and lots of other restaurants and stores. The hotel restaurant was also very good, as it had about 6 different options that you could choose from, and was for a very reasonable price. The hotel as a whole was a great value for the money, and truly made our trip to Siem Reap special.

The highlight of our trip was the driver that we were connected with through the hotel. After reading numerous reviews on here for Sam Tuktuk, we decided that we wanted to have him as our driver during our time in Siem Reap. We emailed him and were very fortunate to find out that he was available for the dates needed. Sam picked us up from the airport in his car (complimentary) and drove us to the hotel. The nice thing about Sam's services is that he gives his guests the choice between using his car or his tuktuk. After we arrived at the hotel, Sam sat with us and helped us plan our itinerary for the next few days. He gave us some suggestions as to what he would recommend as far as an Angkor Wat itinerary, but he was very caring and listened to our input, and gave us prices upfront so that we would know what to expect for our adventure. We agreed to meet the next morning to start our adventure. We utilized Sam's tuktuk for our adventures. Sam is a very safe and cautious driver, and I felt very comfortable riding around in his tuktuk. His tuktuk was in excellent condition and was very roomy. Sam took us around to everywhere that we wanted to see, and was excellent about stopping whenever we asked to take a picture. On our way to Banteay Srei, Sam took us on a less traveled route, that allowed us to take in an amazing view of some gorgeous rice fields. It was apparent that Sam put alot of care into ensuring that his guests were getting the experience that they wanted. At each of the temples, Sam was able to give us some basic background info about the temple. His English was excellent, as he also use to live in the U.S., so he speaks very well. My husband and I are both into getting to know about the local culture, and so one of the highlights of our time with Sam was when he took us to his home village, where his wife had prepared us a home cooked meal and we could meet his family. This experience was so enlightening, and it was truly a special moment to see how life in Cambodia is away from the touristy spots. Sam made our trip to Cambodia so memborable and enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great driver. He can be requested directly via contacting the hotel, or you can find him on facebook under "Sam Tuktuk".

Overall, the experience at the Angkor Pearl was amazing. We would without hesitation stay there again :)
