Really enjoyed my stay there. Close to Pub Street and Central Market. Good food provided. Staff and service are what make this place great! Everyone, from receptionist to housekeeping, is ready with a smile and ever so willing to help. Superb hospitality. Enjoyed talking to the night staff, Chamtha, Theara and Sony. They were happy to chat, made great suggestions during our stay and happy to go the extra mile for the guests. Aw kun guys and Angkor Pearl.

Very nice, clean hotel and it was cheap. I could not believe that you can get a room so inexpensive. The staff was friendly and courteous. The price even included breakfast which was excellent. It was within a walking distance to most amenities, restaurant, market or a very short tuk tuk ride.

The best part was finding a tuk tuk driver and I think we lucked out there as well. We arranged in advance and hired Sam. (samtuktuk@yahoo.com)

He speaks fluent English and is very knowledgeable. We hired him for 3 days and he was there to pick us up whatever time we wanted him to in the morning and stayed with us all day. And I can not believe how little that cost too. What a treat!! If you need a guide, hire Sam - you will be happy you did.
He even showed us his village and surprised us by treating us to lunch at his house on the last day. His wife cooked an excellent meal.
Now, that's seeing the real Cambodia - how the locals live. Many people do not get to see this as they just do the touristy stuff and leave.

First off, I looked at the reviews of this and the other hotels when researching my trip. We stayed at the Angkor Pearl for two nights.

The hotel is just beautiful with intricate carved wood door frames and doors. The rooms are large. The beds are large, comfy and some with a great pillow. The AC in the room was well appreciated and did not make too much noise. Breakfast was included in the deal too. I had an omelet with toast. Really nice coffee too. Actually, the coffee was a lot better than many places I had coffee while on this trip. They had real coffee, not the instant coffee.

One thing we did after reading the reviews was to contact the tuktuk driver directly. This was the smartest thing I did in my entire trip. I read the reviews for the hotel and many of them talked about Sam. (samtuktuk at yahoo.com) I contacted him directly and arranged for him to show us around. We discussed details of what I wanted to see by email. I found it was best to go with the plan he had laid out. He picked us up at the airport and took us to the hotel to drop off our luggage and freshen up.

I really believe that the trip was made better because of Sam. He had cold water and wipes for us when we got back to the tuktuk after seeing the temples and would tell us a little of the history before we went in. Oh, if you're worried about language, don't. His english is perfect. You won't have any trouble understanding him. Make sure you book him in advance. It'll be the smartest thing you do too.

Back to the hotel. Angkor Pearl includes free wifi. If you don't come down with an iPhone or a laptop, they also have computers that you can use there. Great for keeping in touch with people back home.

The hotel was well located. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They are truly happy to help you out.

Some hints and pointers: If you're like me and like to walk every where, don't worry. Siem Reap is very safe. The main market area (Pub St.) is about a 15 minute walk. You can find tuktuks too if you want. I'd recommend you pick up a little flashlight if you're going to be out late at night. It came in handy walking down the street at night. Let's you see the pot holes and lets drivers see you early. Enjoy the local food. Some great restaurants in the area.

My recommendations: book this hotel and book Sam.

Room Tip: We had the room on the second floor right at the top of the stairs. Didn't have any problem with...

very nice hotel, cozy rooms. I didnt expect my 20$ could go as far as that. very clean, with wooden staircase, makes u feel really at home. The staff are very friendly as well, helped us arrange a tour to the Angkor Wat in a very affordable proce... Its all worth it. When I come back to Siem reap, ill surely be booking back at Angkor Pearl Hotel.

Room Tip: since there is no Lift, better take a room on the 2nd floor, or youll carry your luggage all the way...

The location is decent. It is 15 minutes walk from the main restaurants area. There were some convenience stores and grocery stores around the hotel. The service was great. One of the examples was when they brought complementary drinking water when I was browsing on the computer downstairs.

I would highly recommend Sam the Tuktuk driver should you decide to visit Siem Reap. His English is excellent, and he offers great customised tours around Siem Reap. We went to Siem Reap in its worst season (September), the monsoon season and despite the flooded road, we still managed to enjoy Siem Reap at its best, all thanks to Sam!

The hotel we stayed in was ok, and you could ask for Sam Tuktuk prior to your arrival to Siem Reap.

Great value for a 3* hotel. Walking distance to supermarkets and ATMs, and only 2 min tuk tuk (1usd) to bar street.
Only 15 mins by tuk tuk to angkor way, and hotel has it's own tuk tuk drivers they can book for you. We had Sam for 3 days taking us around. He was just fantastic, and speaks perfect English which really helps.
We even extended our original stay we liked it there so much! Only shame is there's no pool to escape the heat in!
Breakfast is pretty basic menu to choose from, but it's all fresh and quite ok.
Staff were all wonderful, and only to happy to help you out.
Just beware, pillows are all very high and hard, so for anyone with smaller neck and shoulders :( not so good. Everything else about the room wad great though, nice and spacious!
