I stayed at the Angkkor Pearl Hotel in Nov/Dec 2013 visit to Siem Reap. Excellent value for the money, central location - walk/tuk tuk to everything we needed. Very nice staff.

The good:
Hotel was clean, rooms were clean. Western toilets - if you've never traveled in SE Asia, this is a treat. Rooms cleaned every day,
Safe - as a woman traveling solo, this is critical
Staff was very accommodating and helpful; most spoke some English.
Central location was excellent
Quiet, even though location is in the middle of Siem Reap
Refrigerator in the room
Restaurant/bar in the hotel
Breakfast buffet

The less good; not bad, just be aware:
Towels are spartan; 1 towel per person, no hand towels or washcloths
Toilet paper is spartan; this is usual for SE Asia
Electricity often goes out for several hours; not a problem for me as we were generally out, but makes the refrigerator in the room a bit dicey
Restaurant/bar - service is slow, food is a bit odd sometimes; there are better choices nearby

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved Cambodia, enjoyed Siem Reap, and The Angkor Pearl Hotel made it all work well!

Room Tip: upper floors will be quieter

We stayed here in December 2013. The location is very good and the price was unbelievable. Our only complaint is the lack of elevators! We had difficulty with four flights of stairs ... not a huge challenge for everyone but we had several very big bags and were not in great physical shape. Other than that, really no complaints. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was nice, and the rooms were clean. Not a very modern place but great value.

Very nice room, good size and value for money. Staff are polite and friendly, also very helpful. Good location, pub street not far away. Tuk tuks at front of hotel are good value and make travelling to temples very easy

A good choice, made from the recommendation from tripadvisor. Relatively cheap, but with rooms that are clean, in great condition and well appointed. The beds were comfy and the rooms well serviced each day. We had a suite for us ($40) and twin for the teenagers ($25) this inclusive of breakfast. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming (cool towel and lemon drink on arrival) and willing to assist with any request.
The restaurant is small and whilst the breakfast was included there was often a wait for a table as the hotel was busy. This also meant that the food was often depleted and seemed to take a while to replenish.
The hotel is well located - close to the centre of town, but not too close (10 minutes walk to Pub St) - and all the Tuk Tuk drivers know it.
Recommended.

Nice clean hotel well located for the temples and Pub Street. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but choice was not always to our taste. Evening meals were ok but probably cooked earlier and reheated. Pub St offers a better choice Our tuctuc driver did not speak English and we could have got more from our days out from someone who did. The temples are a short tuctuc ride away, and you can hire one for $15 a day. Pub Street is a 10 minute walk away. A one day pass to the temples gives you a taste of what you can see, but the 3 day pass gives you that much more time to see further afield.

Siem Reap is a city where the quality of service is pretty high generally. And I must say that I was impressed with what Angkor Pearl did for us. Starting from the free pick up, there was a rapt attention paid to the detail of service. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Definitely worth staying. Let me try and outline the areas in which their service was exceptional:
1, Arranging a tuk tuk for the Angkor Archaeological Park; we had a great driver, Mr. Thean (who calls himself the Bullfrog), who was very helpful and informative. He was arranged by the hotel for a very nominal price of 15 USD. We did not get the feeling that we were being overcharged even one bit. At other times, when we wanted to get around to town, they were always willing to get us a tuk tuk waiting even before we stepped out of the hotel. Top notch. And for the cost of a dollar per trip anywhere in town! That's crazy, cuz we had trouble finding tuk tuk drivers who take that price for the ride back.
2, Their breakfast was good. Not the best we have had, but pretty standard. But again, the service here is unbeatable. There were days when we reached the table with 10 minutes left for it to finish. And there was the last day where we were there 10 minutes before starting time (and they start pretty early 6 am), neither time did we have to go hungry. There was an effort to keep the food coming. Even when it was close to shutting down time, there was a fresh plate of eggs from the kitchen. Good job. And the guy waiting, very attentive. I had asked for hot water to drink the first day. He served that. Second day, we didn't have breakfast there (sunrise tour). On the third day, he saw me and asked if I would like hot water. You don't see that kind of service often. Very cost effective, to top it off. Included in the price tag. Although we didn't have any drinks at the bar, the happy hour seemed quite lucrative.
3, Value for money: I mean, come on, this is place is the best value for money I have had across a few cities. It is located quite centrally. The more energetic could actually walk their way to pub street. And the rooms are big and comfortable. Wooden floors, quality furnishings and an excellent bathroom (I am very particular about this), this did not seem like a budget place. 30 dollars very well spent. We were surprised pleasantly with a fruit basket on arrival and a souvenir at departure.
4, Point for improvement: Their TV was pretty shabby. Not many channels and even the few that are shown, aren't very clear. Could go for an upgrade. And the second point was the only negative (and that too is not a matter of falling short of their duty): we asked them to book us a van from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Worst idea ever. Extremely uncomfortable and not faster than the luxury buses in any way. I wish they had told us how bad the journey would be. We had to get off half way and take a cab. But that's not the hotel's fault; only wish that they had said something about it.

Stayed here for 3 nights on the 4th floor. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a very friendly welcome and similar treatment for the duration of our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was fresh fruit on our arrival and free bottles water every day. Breakfast is included although we missed it first 2 mornings due to early starts.

It's less than 10 min walk to the markets or a cheap tuk-tuk ride makes it even easier.

The young barman was very friendly.

Would defensively stay here again and price + quality hard to beat.
