“Hated it!”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

I booked this hotel based on reviews on this site and was completely disappointed with the hotel. It is NOT conveniently located, the access road is in terrible condition with huge potholes and puddles of mud. The place is dark and smells damp and needing of ventilation. The room had amber tinted window and was dark, even turning on the few lights. Upon coming down the reception person was lying on a sofa half asleep and I was informed that there was no internet. No coffeemaker/water boiler in the room was given--as stated. I could not see myself staying there for four nights, went out and found another place to stay much better located and appealing, and much cheaper.

I stayed in this small comfortable hotel in Siem Reap for two nights and found this hotel much better than what is written on tripadvisor...I paid USD 28 per night including internet and breakfast ( I paid CAD 88 for a smaller room in Vancouver 15 days ago and USD 120 for a similar room in Bangkok a day before arriving in Siem Reap) , Now to the plus and minus points on this hotel :

Minus Point : None as the price you are paying is way too low compared to what you get.

Plus Points :
* Centrally located
* New Building
* Lot of greenery around the hotel
* Sitting area outside the room
* Large room with two beds good for 3-4 people
* Fast Internet ( It was not patchy at all )
* Reasonable breakfast ( it is not a large one but good enough for starting the day)
* Staff speaks English
* Hotel did not try to sell tours - Brochures are kept at the reception - your questions if any are answered promptly
* Very peaceful
* Hot Water available ( Panasonic Gas heater is easy to operate)
* Rooms cleaned every day
* Enough parking if you have a car
* Near the night marker ( it is a 2 minutes walk if you take the short cut)
* Safe in the room
* TV with international Channels
* Good Massage available in the room

In Short , I must appreciate Ly Socheath for his prompt reply to my emails and his prompt action on all my requests.

I had hired the famous tour guide Touch Darith and his Lexus jeep and they were at the airport to pick me up..but Alliance Villa had sent their car as well just to be double sure.

I felt ashamed while paying USD 65 to Alliance Villa for my stay, laundry and some food as I knew the prices were much less than what I had paid even in countries like Vietnam or Thailand.

I wish Alliance Villa all the very best and ask all travelers to take my word and stay at this place without any reservations as this place is very good for family stay as well.

Room Tip: Book a deluxe room as it is very big and it has a router just outside .

I stayed at Alliance Villa for 4 nights recently. This guest house is small and located a short walk from 'tourist central' Siem Reap. Staff are great - friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and clean. Wifi can be a bit patchy but was fine. Breakfast is simple but good. I never took them up on the offer of the free dinner that was included but heard that it was good. I found Alliance Villa to be very good value. I'm returning to Siem Reap in January and have already book this place again.

Room Tip: The deluxe room with private balcony was great value.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Sept 2013. Found the Alliance Villa very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I stayed in a large room with balcony, definitely worth the extra. Breakfast very good (with Western or Asian choices including vegetarian). Fast wi-fi and very close to the Night Market. I'll stay here again when I am next in Siem Reap.

Great boutique hotel in in the old town. Close to the action by foot but far enough away to have some down time. Small pool in cafe area is a life savor after hours in 100 degree heat touring Angkor. Very good breakfast included and though we didn't eat dinner here restaurant is supposed to be quite good with occasional local dancing and/or puppet shows. For about $100 per night for 2 it is certainly a good value. Highly recommend.

I usually sleep in more starred hotels, so I ended up here just because it's the peak of the high season. I must say that the place is beyond my expectations. Wide rooms, clean, fridge and TV, so far so good. I hope the owner reads some friendly remarks:
1. room and bathroom are too dark, just replace the bulbs
2. breakfast is not appealing, add 1 $ to your prices and improve it
