Stayed here 4 nights over Chinese New Year and the first thing that met us after being picked up from the airport (which is complimentary) was dirty sheets. Not dirty in the sense that they hadn't been washed, but dirty in a sense that they haven't been able to get all the stains out. We called the reception and they promptly sent someone up to change them, problem was that they didn't seem to have any sheets without stains on them. I don't know if this is a ongoing problem or if they just had a problem with the washer when we were there, but it did give me bad impression of the place and I chose to sleep in my silk sleepingbag that I had brought.

Unfortunately my impression didn't get any better after seeing the bathroom. The bathroom was ok in size and amenities, but it was so incredibly damp. No fan to take away the steam from showering. We had to keep the door to the bathroom closed at all times to prevent the dampness to spread to the rest of the room. It did however spread and my friend with sensitive airways started sneezing a lot.

On the positive side, the room was decent sizes, the beds were comfortable and we had a nice view overlooking the pool, and the location was excellent, only a few minutes walk away from the Night Market and Pub Street.

In conclusion I probably wouldn't stay here again and with the amount of hotels on offer in Siem Reap, I'm sure it would be easy to find a better place to stay.

Staff were friendly and helpful and I would not blame them for my less than positive review.

The staff is friendly, and the pool area is very nice. They let us bring in food from outside as long as we bought drinks while we were sitting there. The breakfast buffet (included in the price of our room) was decent but nothing special. The hotel itself is located right in the middle of the tourist area, and you can easily walk to the tourist markets, all the restaurants, and pub street. Getting to the Angkor temples from here is easy and affordable.

The room itself was fair. Beds were comfortable but the bathroom was not clean. I didn't bother to ask them to clean it, it looked like it had not been properly cleaned in a loooong time. Just be careful not to touch the walls in the shower.

Be aware that there are several different room types and the quality increases exponentially as the price goes up. It is well worth it to spring for a $35 or $40 room, which will be 1000 times better than the $20 room.

Room Tip: Definitely ask to see a more luxurious room than the one they first offer you. It might be worth the...

Enjoyed my stay Tan Kang Angkor Hotel - prime reason being very good location. For price it's good place to stay - I would certainly be happy to stay here again though I might look for somewhere with river view.

Very close to markets - lovely staff who are very helpful. If I could be whinger westerner I'd say the pillows were bit hard ! But that's not major deal.

Breakfast was included in our deal - lovely looking pool - though was too cold when I was there.

Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Had a deluxe balcony room which was very good value, daily housekeeping and enjoyed having the pool.

Reviews are mixed about this hotel, and I think I can tell you why: quality varies from room to room. When we first booked, we were shown to our rooms ( two couples, traveling together) and we received a lovely room, very clean and bright. The room they gave our friends next door was dirtier than ours and the bathtub was totally broken. This place was our splurge hotel at $40 a night so our friends asked to change rooms. The staff were quite accommodating and moved them to a room upstairs. They had to change rooms again the next morning as the AC unit was rattling loudly all night. Finally they moved the room on the other side of us whichever was fine. When we asked, the staff offered a $5 discount per night for the trouble which was nice. We peeked into some of the rooms without balconies while staff were cleaning and they were pretty dark compared to our room. Bottom line: quality clearly varies greatly from room to room, so it pays to see the room you'll be staying in before you put down your money.

To summarize our stay...
The good:
Housekeeping staff were great and cleaned the room daily
Clean bed linens and comfortable bed
Balcony was a highlight---- get a balcony room if you stay here
Tea and coffee hot water boiler and fridge in room was great for having tea on the balcony
Buffet breakfast offers lots of variety
Rooms are spacious
Bathrooms are big
Pool is nice
Staff is helpful

The bad:
Maintenance seems a bit lacks, some rooms are obviously in need of repairs for the price they charge
Room quality is just very inconsistent, which makes booking in advance a bit risky
They sprayed chemicals for Mosquitos all over the pool area one day and there weren't even many Mosquitos----it seemed a little weird.....

Value would totally depend on whether you are paying low season or high season rates. For $40 a night, only their nicest room will do, but for $25 like some people are saying they paid, then it would be hard to complain too much.

Room Tip: Look at the room first---- quality varies greatly from room to room. Get a room with a balcony, it...

Perfect location that was really close to everything a tourist needs: restaurants, cafes, Pub Street and shopping. The rooms weren't great, but decent for $23-25USD especially when considering the good location although the service could be improved. The hotel gets a thumbs up for having a pool, but the breakfast was a waste stomach space and you'd be better off going out to one of the many great cafes nearby.

Room Tip: Get a room on the lower floors - there are no elevators.

In a great location and clean but first they tried to fob us off with a standard room with a wall view up 4 flights of stairs....don't think so we booked a superior...May be fine for the young but not us oldies.....breakfast was hit and miss but if you ask for anything they do try to oblige.....the staff were ok...the pool as in previous reviews nice but shaded....the food from the menu was nice and not over priced.....overall though I loved Siem Reap.

Room Tip: If a smoker get a balcony room..

The photos and website make it look lovely but it wasn`t that nice. The rooms are ok size but the beds are hard. The breakfast was a bit poor, mostly luke warm Asian food. The pool is ok but it is shaded for all of the day except for very early but the pool doesn`t open til 10am. One day they wouldn`t even let us in until 1pm as they were cleaning it... The reception staff were ok but otherwise service was not amazing. Our AC unit leaked all over the TV and table and although it was fixed fairly quick, the engineer got our bathroom and bath mat muddy.

Otherwise for the price however, it is a good location and the one lunch we had by the pool was actually pretty decent!
