“Great, great, great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2011

We stayed at Frangipani Hotel for 3 nights during our honeymoon in May 2011.
What can I say? It is simply great!
Location in very good, not quite downtown but close enough to walk around the river, visit the night market and have dinner at Pub Str.
Hotel area is quiet so we got great night sleep.
Hotel facilities and very nice and well mantained. Double room was spotless. Swimming pool is a dream after spending the day in Angkor.
Restaurant and breakfast are also very good with many choices.
Staf is very, very, very , very nice! Always making sure you are having a good time. We asked them to book a tuk-tuk for us to go to Angkor at 5am and it was just perfect!
Only cons: no elevator (we were on a 3rd floor) and no AC in common areas so lobby and restaurant were not very cool in May (this is very common in all Southeast Asia as we discovered later...) Anyway there were so many pros that it wasn't a big deal...
You have my full recommendation. Stay here!

The one and only good thing about this hotel was the lovely staff. During our 36 hour stay, the air conditioning was out for a day when we were told it would be out for 10 minutes. We got locked out of the hotel and had to bang on the door only to be told to use the side entrance that we were never told about. The room was advertised as garden view but it looked directly and solely on to a busy street. The rooms are very small - especially given what you pay. Also, we had to ask to get our towels replaced. The air conditioning is also extremely weak so expect to be sleeping in moderate discomfort. To top it all off, they also seem to have lost our booking and if you're not arriving in the low season in the middle of the night, I would expect lengthy delays at check-in.

We have spent three nights to visit Angkor. The hotel is near the center, big and clean room with AC. Wonderful staff and a delicious breakfast in front of the pool, what more?!!

The hotel was new, clean and beautifully decorated. There were full of plants, flowers around the hotel. The pool-side view was very lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and fully equipped (hair-drier, cattle, mini-fridge). Free high-speed internet service. They also served very nice breakfast. The hotel staffs were very helpful and manage to speak English.

The best place where we stayed in Cambodia: central, clean, friendly staff, good value for money. If you are in doubt, go there.

Room Tip: book with Agoda

We stayed 4 nights at the Frangipani while visiting Angkor and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were delightful - eager to help, friendly and chatty. The poolside waiter made the best mai tais in Cambodia, and the manager booked our air tickets on to Ho Chi Minh quickly and easily (and with no commission, it seems!)
Rooms are clean and neat, with plenty of space, and the free laundry service is a nice touch.
We also had a storm when we stayed and the air con didn't work for a short time; this is because when the power goes, the hotel has to rely on a generator to power essentials like lights - definitely NOT the hotel's fault!
The pool and jacuzzi was a welcome respite from the heat of Angkor. Building work is going on next door but this didn't bother us during our stay.
All in all, this is a lovely place to stay and at a good price, too.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and chic, though a bit on the smallish side. The restaurant had decent food and also served at the poolside. There is free internet and computers free to use by the guests. it is located in a quiet area of Siem Reap, away from the craziness of the Pub Street/Old Market district, yet very accessible, as it is only about 5 minutes away by bicycle. We will stay here on our next visit to Siem Reap - lovely hotel, one of my favorites.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the 1st or 2nd floor - no elevator!
