“Nice place to stay, but a little overpriced”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights for part of our honeymoon in March. The hotel and staff were pretty nice, the location in town was fairly convenient and we could walk just about everywhere, but a few issues made me feel like we overpaid--Lonely Planet described this place as a "splurge" but I think we overpaid for an average hotel.

Pros:
*The Deluxe Pool-view room was quite nice, clean, and very spacious.
*Onsite restaurant had a varied and well-staffed breakfast, and the menu for lunch/dinner was well-rounded with Western and local dishes.
*Nice pool area with a whirlpool, lounge chairs, towels, and umbrellas.
*Check-in process was relatively quick and included a tasty welcome drink.

Cons:
*WiFi in the common areas was strong, but the WiFi signal in our room was extremely weak.
*Laundry in the hotel was per item, not by weight, which ended up being wildly expensive.
*The bathrooms are a little industrial feeling (gray stone) and the shower tub was difficult to get in an out of (very high off the ground).
*The in-room lock box was an old-school lock and key, rather than an electronic one.
*Minibar included water, limited beer, and a few sodas, nothing fancy.
*The hotel seemed to be doing maintenance (painting, cleaning, fixing the elevator) constantly, which was a little annoying

I'd likely stay here again if we came back to Siem Reap, but I wouldn't shell out extra for the nicer rooms, and I'd get my laundry done somewhere else besides the hotel service.

Dear Lindsey,
Thank you so much for staying with us and for spending the time writing us your pros and cons experiences. We're all glad to receive your pros feedback on our performance. The deluxe pool view room is the highest room category in the hotel so the price is exactly more than our Superior/Standard room. We’ve shared your cons experiences to entire team and they're looking into them now.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in a short distant future.

Thank you and with personal best regards,

My kind of hotel: located in town, not out on a hill surrounded by moats. Great staff, always accommodating. Great restaurants recs from staff and a great in-hotel restaurant located near the pool. And there's more. :) A great spa, too, which is clean, peaceful and a great value. Hour-and-a-half massages for about $20. Attractive grounds just off of the main street. No question I would return to this hotel the next time I was in Siem Riep

Room Tip: All are good. The rooms towards the front are at the top of the front stairway; towards the back are...

We stayed here for 4 nights in February. Great location – few minutes walk to pub street & easy to get a tuk tuk just outside. The front desk staff were very helpful with arranging tours to the temples & onward bus tickets, but beware their prices were a good $10/15 more than if we’d arranged things ourselves! Rooms are large, comfy and clean, breakfast was fresh & varied and the pool area lovely after a hot day sightseeing. Shame it’s a little small though for the amount of guests... Overall, I’d recommend staying here, it was perfect for us.

I am an architect in Venice beach, Los Angeles , California. When I choose a hotel, i always look
for good design with respect for the environment as well as kind service, i am very proud to recommend the Frangipany group as a wonderful discovery . My 24 year daughter and i stayed at the Frangipani Villa 90s in Phnom Penh and were so impressed with the impeccable service and kindness of the staff as well as the quality of the design that decided to try their sister hotel in Siem Reap. Our trip was a last minute decision .We contacted their reservation manager Mr Ben ( Phea Sophoand, being his real name!) . This wonderful person not only writes perfect English and responds immediately to all texts, but also found a room for us in an otherwise fully booked hotel, but also had a driver pick us up timely from a bus ride that was 5 HOURS LATE!! as well as arranging to add a 3rd bed into this small room making it perfectly comfortable! Mr Ben is not only the most amazing asset to the company , but also kind, patient, and ALWAYS available . We were so so impressed with the wonderful building, the amazing salt water pool , the fabulous landscaping and above all the kindness and care of the staff. Definitely like being in paradise!! We arrived in the late morning, tired and weary after a long overnight bus ride and were treated to a bucolic garden setting with the most wonderful pool . The rooms are spacious , clean and cozy. We were lucky to be able to change our initial room to the most amazing pool side room with a balcony overlooking the pool and the rooftops of the neighboring houses. As the street and the city in general bubbles with tourists, bikes, cars and tuck tucks, the Frangipany villa offers an oasis of quiet relaxation. One can sleep in absolute peace and quiet to wake up to the MOST AMAZING BREAKFAST BUFFET: omelets made to order, croissants, toast, the perfect orange marmalade and French butter, a large choice of fruit , cereal and yogurt, not to mention a choice of Vietnamese PHO , rice , fried noodles, sausages, etc, etc, etc. WITH THE BEST COFFEE, i have to confess i am a neurotic and very picky coffee drinker!! To add to all this JENNY at the front desk arranged our trip to Bangkok impeccably, she recommended the best choice and took care of the reservations as well as the pick up from the hotel. As she was not on staff on the morning we were leaving ELIZA took over caring for us , she deftly discovered that our pick up was late and arranged for an alternate and wonderful tuck tuck ride to the bus. Please make sure you talk to Jenny or Eliza for any of your needs, they are genuinely kind and will help you from their hearts and they also speak perfect English! I am happy to say the Frangipani Hotels are THE BEST IN CAMBODIA

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the pool are absolutely wonderful. spacious , quiet and full of light, with a...

We stayed here for 3 nights and were delighted with the friendly and professional service of the staff, the quiet enjoyment of the pool and the comfort of the rooms; all at an affordable price. Showers were slightly basic, and not of a 'power shower' status, but did the job. We only had breakfasts here, which were plentiful and excellent, offering a choice of Eastern or Western menus. The hotel is well served by competent tuk-tuks, and well located for either visits to the Wats or Pub Street, we would highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had pool side rooms on the third floor. Because of concrete floors, noise possible from early mor...

We recently stayed at the Frangipani Hotel in Siem Reap. It was a very comfortable base for our exploration of the extraordinary wats in the Angkor region as well as the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. The Frangipani offers very clean and comfortable room, a very generous breakfast, and a clean and refreshing pool to cool off in. The staff was extremely courteous. We took advantage of the massages provided in the spa area of the hotel. They are slightly more expensive than massages available in the city of Siem Reap but well worth it, because the facilities are spotless and the attention is entirely focused on you. All in all, a comfortable stay at an affordable price.
