“Service BEYOND the call of duty.”
Reviewed 19 June 2011

Most of the reviews would be about the hotel itself but i have a different perspective to tell. My son Howard fell sick with high fever and stomach upset on the fourth day of our stay. We informed the front desk who quickly made arrangements to send us to a nearby hospital/clinic in a aircon coach together with a super helpful staff in attendance as well. I could see the staffs at the hotel were genuinely concerned and they even called the driver back from the clinic to pack us lunch. How thoughtful! We offered to pay for all the services but it was politely declined. A big thank you to the manager and staff for showing us a different side of humanity. A side rarely seen in our quest for financial rewards. The next time you book a hotel u have to ask yourself..will they take care of me when i am sick because unforseen circumstances do happen and it is heart warming to know that the STAFF will when the need arises.

We stayed here for only 3 nights and wish we had booked for longer. The hotel setting is very tranquil, the room large and spotless, and the staff were amazing!! The friendliest and most helpful staff we have met at a hotel. Bopha could not do enough for us! She even came in early in the morning on her day off to say goodbye! Such a genuine, sweet person. Thanks to Nary for her patience during our cooking course!
Throughout our stay the only concern of the staff was what they could do better. The answer is...nothing. It was perfect!
We intend to return to Siem Reap since 2 full days is simply not enough to see everything. We will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are the best

Booked after reading Tripadvisor comments but was quite disappointed. Positives - good location, helpful staff, large clean rooms, good size balcony. Negatives - Tiles surrounding the pool are extremely slippery and very dangerous (one of our group had a serious fall and was injured). We were on the 2nd floor (there are 3) and the steps were very steep (no lift) the last 2 flights without a handrail. Very trendy looking desk with pebbles - impractical & desk stool sooo uncomfortable. There was a large light fitting hanging directly in front of the balcony door that you had to walk around or run into each time you went onto the balcony. Most bathrooms have a shower OVER the toilet and the room gets so wet. Poolside rooms and 1st floor near restaurant lack privacy - windows need film so you can see out no one sees in. I can't believe that people have not commented on these issues in previous postings. I have relied on Tripadvisor for most of my accommodation ( I travel regularly) but now am beginning to have doubts about its validity

On behalf of Golden Temple Hotel,we would like to thank you very much for having chosen to stay with us in Siem Reap,Angkor and also thanks a lot for your spending time leaving comments for us, these are very valuable to our team. We will make to the most use of them to continuously upgrade our services and facilities. We apologies for any inconvenience that might make your stay with us not really enjoyable.

We are taking action to your feedback accordingly. A sign has already been placed at the poolside warning of the danger of wet surfaces. The shower-heads have been moved further from the toilet where necessary and the offending light fittings have been raised. The trendy pebbles have been replaced with more practical flat tiled surfaces. And we are taking the lack of sufficient handrails and addition of tinted windows under professional advisement. We appreciate this feedback as it has enabled us to improve our services."

We sincerely hope you consider staying with us again so we can proof you our updates.

With kindest regards,
Golden Temple Hotel Management Team,
Rechard,

This hotel has the wow factor! One of the nicest most characteristic hotels I have stayed in for a very long time. The service was impeccable with very friendly staff particularly all on reception and Mr Vicher. They would go out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We got a free drink and snacks on arrival, as well as a 1 hr complimentary massage which was well needed after the temples.

The rooms were really decorative and of good size, and the beds were really comfortable and not too hard. Breakfast was delicious, however I would have preferred some Cambodian options as they only really had western options. The shower had good water pressure and hot water but it was not separated from the toilet. The toilet and toilet paper would get wet.

They also offered a free complimentary transfer by tuk tuk from the airport to the hotel, and also offered their tuk tuk drivers to take you around the temples starting from $9 a day. We had Mr Cho (I think that was his name) who was absolutely fantastic and always happy, he would still be smiling even after driving the tuk tuk through 30cm of water during heavy rains. The restaurant was also well priced and offered good khemer food.

Overall excellent stay!!!! have to be crazy to stay anywhere else.

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews on trip adviser and were not disappointed. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptional-friendly and chatty. We were within walking distance of markets and restaurants. They provided a free massage which was wonderful! We would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Very helpful staff in a hotel with a beautiful pool. Double rooms are large with a balcony. Good supply of hot water and good air conditioning. l would have liked a ceiling fan as well. Restaurant with an adequate menu for all meals.
