We were collected at the airport by tuk tuk driven by Mr. Sophal and he drove us around for the four days we stayed in The golden temple. When we arrived at the hotel a receptionist sat us down and checked us in, while a cool towel, some drinks and some snacks were brought to us. Mr. Vichea explained all facilities of hotel and then described the various tours available, these were all competitively priced.Service at the hotel is extremely high from complimentary water and a picnic on our first trip to the temples to lunch being delivered to our room on our return because Mr. richard felt we would be too hungry by the time of our dinner reservation (which they also arranged). And of course our bed was decorated with a beautiful floral display. We also had a cookery lesson during our time there and this was great fun as well as being delicious.a complimentary massage was also welcome after pounding the temples for a day.

This hotel is conveniently located a little bit out of the main hustle and bustle of Siem Reap but still only 10min walk from the night market and main restaurant and bar street.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a very service minded member of staff and we were served some cold lemonade while he explained the main practicalities about the hotel. We also realised during this that we were getting a massage treatment for free and that the hotel offers all kinds of different tours around Angkor and the other temples.
We headed straight for the restaurant as we were starving and the food there is decent without being fantastic. The breakfast is fine again without being fantastic but you can order extras to accompany the still "big enough" portion you are getting.
Pool area is just fantastic and a great treat after a full day spent in the dust and heat of the various temple areas.
Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious (not to "American outside New York standards) and the AC worked fine. Our room had a DVD player and a very interesting free movie about the temples of Angkor.
As mentioned the hotel offer tours and tour programs at very reasonable prices so there is no need to get stressed out trying to arrange something in advance. They also offer advice on different opportunities getting to Vietnam, Thailand etc. The prices they can arrange taxis at are also very reasonable. At least to our knowledge ;o)
Only little remark is that the people working the reception are not always fully up to date with the the tour menu causing slight confusion at times. But nothing major as long as you also do a little checking yourself.
Unfortunately our free massage never happened but this was partly (fully?) our own fault. When we arrived back at the hotel after a loooong day to quickly shower and then head for the spa area we learned that the massage was going to take place in our room. This was unexpected and our room was in no condition to have guests over as we were leaving the next morning. Again, really not a fault on the staff but on the other hand they could have mentioned this the first day and we would have been prepared for it.
When leaving the hotel early in the morning (7.30am is early for me on Holiday) we were given complimentary bottles of water and a souvenir T-Shirt. Nice touch.
We ordered sandwiches the evening before and they were ready for our departure and tasted fantastic at the time we reached PoiPet on the way back to Bangkok.

All in all a good hotel with value for money. Remember it is not a Hilton or Marriott but there is nothing to complain about from a cleanliness and service point of view. Alos remember you will be spending the whole day (most likely from 5.30am in the morning) in the temple areas or seeing Tonle Sap. Enjoy.

This hotel is lovely! Filled with beautiful Cambodian stone sculptures and artwork; overflowing with silk cushioned seating areas; and surrounded by the relaxing sound of water everywhere. Photographs just can't do this hotel justice! It’s the sort of place you could easily plonk yourself down in for a week as it has a real ‘resort’ feel about it.
Upon arrival we were offered a seat and given cold fruit juices to refresh us from our journey as well as snacks including delicious sticky rice rolls. We were then checked in whilst we relaxed, unwound, and absorbed the beauty of our surroundings.
By the time we were taken to our room, a driver had been arranged to take us to Angkor Wat next morning; our free one hour massages had been booked in; and a tuk-tuk had been arranged to take us to dinner and then to the night market afterwards.
Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff at this hotel. They were an absolute delight!
Free Wi-Fi and a bank of computers in the lobby area and beside the pool allowed us to remain connected at all times. Laundry is charged by the kilo - mine cost $2.50!
The breakfast served on plantain leaves in an open area overlooking the pool was perfect, with a choice of eggs and ham, grilled tomatoes and toasted baguette, and both the pineapple pancakes and the banana pancakes were fluffy and delicious!
I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough and I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Golden Temple from 18 of July , for 4 days.It was a fantastic hotel !!!!! It's a clean hotel in a typical style . There are 5 computers in the lobby near the pool, when you sit there : the staff served a tea.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Best rooms are poolside.
There were a lot of extras : the wonderful free massage and legs massage , free t-shirt on departure, .We got a complimentary dinner the day before living. The morning we left : Richard was going with us to the airport with a nice lunch box for us and water and the whole staff took picture with us and wave goodbye !The hotel is within easy walking distance to central Siem Reap, near the old market and a lot of little , nice restaurants !
It isn't a 5 star hotel, it is like a 5 stars !!!. Do yourself a favour and go and be spoilt by Richard and his team, you won't regret it! Thank you Richard and the whole staff to do everything for us! Hope we'll see you again.
All the best !! Best regards from Chris and Lieve of Belgium.

Wow is all we can say, what everyone has written is correct. We travelled with our 10 and 12 year old to Bangkok, Cambodia and Phuket. All our favourite place was Cambodia. We hopped on the bikes and went cycling in the mad asia traffic. We would stop on the side of the road and give the kids some food and play with them. They were lovely. This hotel was the best place we have ever stayed in. The kids could even open their eyes in the pool. Food was cheap and delicious. American $4ish for dinner each. American dollars is used here more than we realised. No need to get Cambodian if you don't have time. It is very very hot so the pool was great. The staff were just wonderful - all speaking excellent english and so so helpful. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. One day we will come back - can't stop thinking of the place. A country is what you make of it and the people who make your stay so memorable.

I really wanted to stay here after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, but it was booked. One night became available and I jumped on it. I was not disappointed at all. The decor is gorgeous from the entrance traversing the fishpond to the gorgeous pool and relaxing spa. The rooms are comfy and tidy with a spotless bathroom. The staff was phenomenal! Everything was so easy. The hotel was definitely geared toward faciliting tourist activities with easy, fair pricing and easily accessible information. If you have the opportunity, definitely stay here. I wish that I could go back :)

This hotel was a hit, especially when you consider price/quality. The staff is extremely friendly, the accomodation is very good. Free tea at swimming pool or at computer.
Minus: street noise, no elevators (difficult stairs).
