“A truly welcoming hotel!”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

We stayed here for three nights on the VIP package which we booked directly through the hotel via email. The VIP package included tuk tuk transfers, breakfast, massage, a temple picnic lunch and a restaurant lunch or dinner.

It was a sheer delight to stay here! Our room was tastefully decorated on the ground floor and most importantly, the shower had good pressure and was nice and hot and the air-conditioner was quiet and very cold. Two things you need after a hot, humid day of tuk tuking around Siem Reap.

Our room had a comfy king size bed, a wardrobe with a safe and two shower robes, TV & DVD player, mini bar, two bottles of water supplied daily, coffee & tea making facilities, free WiFi and the bathroom had soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, combs, shower caps and with the towels something that is always a favourite of mine when they are provided…face washers!

I particularly liked our room with its secluded outdoor sitting area as it provided an escape for a quiet drink and diary writing in the afternoons.

Breakfast offered either a set menu or buffet with a wide selection of choice. We also ate lunch and dinner on a couple of occasions in the restaurant and the meals were of good quality with Khmer and western dishes. The bar offered a nice range of drinks including cocktails. All meals and drinks were also available on the room service menu.

I have saved the best to last; the staff! Wow! They are the most welcoming, friendliest and dedicated hotel staff that I have ever had the good fortune to meet. They simply exceed all expectations and their happy smiling faces are embedded in my brain! Seriously though, without a doubt, the staff at the Golden Temple Hotel will complete your holiday in Cambodia making it a truly memorable stay and have you wishing that you didn’t have to have to say good bye.

This hotel is a haven. The staff are the best I have ever come across. They are friendly, attentive, caring. My husband had a stomach bug when we arrived . When they found out they asked me the next day how he was and said to let them know if he was feeling no better . They would cook up a special soup for dinner to help him feel better. Fanatastic service. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The pool area fantastic. Tomorrow is our last day and we will miss this place. We hope to come back and will be telling all our friends about it. We will miss the beautiful smiling faces of the girls at reception and the giggles of the young girls that clean the rooms.

The hotel is pleasant and is close to the centre of Siem Reap. We booked following reviews from tripadvisor and overall the place was nice with a good pool but we found it lacking any atmosphere and whilst in the town was told we could have got a good hotel for a lot less money.

The room was good with a comfortable bed though the air con pointed directly at the head of the bed so with it on one of us got a blast of cold air all night.

Breakfast wasn't the greatest and we didn't eat in the evening.

For the price we paid I would look to try somewhere else but the hotel offers a free massage and is a quiet place......though there is a building going up across the road so during the day their was a lot of noise.

My partner and I had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Golden Temple and enjoyed every moment of it. The customer service was absolutely outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble for the gracious, friendly, helpful staff with the big smiles! :-) The hotel is clean, comfy and beautifully decorated, within easy walking distance of Pub Street and markets. My friend and I did the cooking class which was great fun! We have such fond memories of our stay and the warm welcome we received. You would have to be very hard to please if you didn't fall in love with this place like we did!

Room Tip: We paid a little extra for a room that overlooked the pool and it was lovely (a friend found hers to...

My partner and i just spent 4 nights at the Golden Temple and we adored it, it has so far been the highlight of our trip. It is a beautiful looking hotel, it has large comfortable nicely decorated rooms, its very clean and the food is lovely and plentiful. But the best reason to stay here is the staff. Like many of the reviewers, i adored the staff here! Ever single person went out of their way to say hello, smile, ask how you were and what your plans were, they chatted about themselves. From the minute we walked through the door we felt as welcome as long lost relatives. The day we booked out, it was leaving family, i know this sounds crazy but these people are just that nice!

They arranged a tuktuk driver to pick us up from the airport, free of charge, he was a sweet, hilarious little old man, his english was limited but we still had a laugh. He also took us around Angkor with a English Speaking guide, who was also excellent, though we made them take us out their at sunrise and both looked completely knackered, when asked if they were tired, they politely said they were fine. The location is great, easy 5 minute walk to the main centre of Siem Reap.

Stay at this hotel and you will love it!

During our stay, the staff were so friendly and helpful. As guests, we were made to feel very welcome and the customer care was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Within the room, flower decorations were added regularly. The hotel arranged day trips to Angkor Wat, where we went via tuk tuk for 3 days with the same driver, and evening meals in local restaurants for us at night. We had a complementary massage in the spa and later paid for a traditional Khmer Herbal massage. Required after a few days trekking the temples! All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: The pool rooms appeared smaller than those higher up. We initially had a ground floor pool room then...

We stayed for 2 nights recently in the Golden Temple Hotel, and loved it. Everything about our stay was fantastic.. From the staff's attentiveness and friendliness, to the complimentary massage, lunch/dinner, picnic package etc.
I'm from Australia, and honestly feel that Cambodian hotels put ours to shame, with the Golden Temple Hotel being a prime example of this.
I wouldn't hesitate to book with The Golden Temple Hotel again :)
