“I miss you already, and I want to come back!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Cambodia was our second stop on our holiday, and from the moment we arrived at the airport our tuk tuk picked us up and we were whisked away on our Cambodian adventure. When we arrived at the Golden Temple we met one of the nicest people I will know, Alice, we were treated to a beautiful Golden temple welcome, and treated like family. Every need was catered for, we were given drinks, nibblies, a mobile phone for emergencies, free massages, free dinner, free deluxe breakfast, free picnic boxes when we went out. It was everything and more.
We only had one issue that the room we were assigned was next to the concierge desk, and while effort was made to keep noise down, we would wake up to noise in the morning. So after our second night, I requested if we could move to another room. The team were sooo apologetic that we had an issue, and we were immediately upgraded to a suite on the second level which was beautiful, we had apologies from Alice, the manager and the general manager, but we were so happy with all of them, and were very impressed with the beyond exceptional service they provided.
The pool was our favourite on our holiday, this is a hotel with heart, you will love it, we loved it, this will be the place we will go back to when we visit Cambodia again, and we will recommend it to all our family and friends.
We almost cried when we left, as we felt like we were leaving family.
To all the team thank you so much for looking after us on our stay, especially to Alice and Eliza. Thank you for making us feel so special and loved

Room Tip: It is worth paying the little bit extra for a suite, they are worth it!

From arrival to departure one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
We were welcomed with iced tea, fruit and nuts and flannels to cool down.
The staff were amazing, friendly, smiley and nothing was to much bother for them.
We saw Angkor Wat for sunrise and they made us a picnic breakfast and lunch to take with us.
Our room was spacious and lovely, bed comfy shower fabulous, food amazing
Thank you for making our stay in Seim Reap memorable

Outstanding service with a smile, the staff go out of their way to help you with everything you need. A small hotel more personalised than a large hotel. I enjoyed the local decor , and colour. Cocktails by the pool after a day of visiting temples a must, set in pretty gardens.

Amazing service from the staff here. As soon as we were welcomed at the airport, we were greeted with warmth! Excellent service through and through.

I love their cooking class too! For a very reasonable price, we got to cook Khmer/Cambodian dishes!

Stayed here for 2 days and very much enjoyed the hotel. Very cosy place and excellent service. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They offered a map & any touring tips to everyone. Welcome drink, fruit platters and complimentary 1hr massage was most appreciated. Our room was lovely decorated with comfy beds, luxury bathroom and the pool is beautiful.
It’s like everything's free from buffet breakfasts to picnic lunch and VIP dinner, they also give delicious banana chips in your room. They will give you shirt for souvenir. Would not hesitate to go back. I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends heading to Siem Reap. Orkun!

We chose the golden temple due to the excellent reviews of trip advisor and we were so glad we did, we can honestly say that this was one of our most enjoyable hotel stays.
We booked the VIP package, It is well worth booking direct with the hotel for this.
After our transfer from the airport in a tuk tuk we had the most amazing greeting from the staff along with cool wonderfully smelling towels, iced tea, banana chips, sticky rice and salted nuts. We were shown all of the facilities and the trips were discussed with us. I think what struck us about the greeting was that all the staff wanted to know your name, and vice versa which just gave a personal touch throughout the whole stay. Check in didn't really feel like check in, it was more of a welcome to the golden temple family and home!
We had a room overlooking the pool with a nice sized balcony, all the usual amenities you would expect were available including tea and coffee making facilities, robes, flip flops, sewing kit, toothbrush, paste, comb and DVDs of Angkor Wat and the Killing fields; which was a thoughtful touch. The room was fabulous with a great shower and plenty of storage.
The hotel itself is situated on the king's road which is a five minute walk into the centre of town where the markets, restaurants and bars are; just the perfect location.
The pool area was very tranquil due to the huge waterfall and was spotlessly clean. There were comfy loungers next to the pool well as six beds that were set back slightly under some flowers and foliage for shade. The waiting staff were attentive and served free iced green tea, cold towels and nuts regularly as well as bringing your food and drink orders to the pool area.
Breakfast was very good, a large range of Vietnamese and Western cuisine plus the usual continental breakfast options. There was also an omelette station and good fruit selection and a few juices to choose from, again the waiting staff were fantastic.
The girls in the spa were lovely and very professional, I had a foot massage and a full body massage and both were fantastic.

We couldn't recommend this hotel enough, every effort is made to make you feel welcome. The staff are extremely kind and friendly and love practising their English, although it is excellent already! We would like to say a special thank you to Aline, Alice, Alex and Annie for making our stay so memorable. We will be returning!

We arrived not really know what to expect of Siem Reap nor The Golden Temple. Honestly, we were expecting a small village not a large city with $1000/night hotels. From the moment we arrived at the airport to our departure, the employees of The Golden Temple created an experience worthy of a thousand tales. The genuinely kind nature of the Cambodian people coupled with the hotels' deep desire to satisfy their guests was equivalent of 5* service standards. The management here has done their homework. Every day were were greeted with smiles, cool washcloths, tea and offers of assistance. The "freebies" were of first quality and, honestly, we could not believe that they were inclusive in our rate. The restaurant was superior, the spa (which we scheduled daily) was professional, quaint and well run, and the management (Anna) delivered the best tourism advice we could've asked for. The hotel arranged for our tour guide, Muny, who was also superior in every way. We used Muny for 3 days as we toured Angkor Wat on foot, then Angkor Wat on mountain bike, then the floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake. It was all truly fascinating. We were so happy with our choice of The Golden Temple. We went on evening walks through the markets, enjoyed Pub Street, and dined at one of the $500/night hotels - all within walking distance. Depending on the type of traveler you are, you will be happy that you chose The Golden Temple over a more expensive option. One of the great joys of this country is its native people who are surrounded by economic challenges but still choose to be happy - just like the smiling faces carved in Angkor Wat. At The Golden Temple, you can share experiences with its staff and see their pride in assisting you rather than having an outrageously expensive experience with staff that serve you. At the same time, the hospitality and quality of room will not disappoint.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool were a must for us - I would highly recommend. However..I will add...
