“A homecoming of sorts”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Our fourth visit and a homecoming feeling for us. The place for rest and relaxation with a nice pool to enjoy after temple exploration. The location is ideal being near the temples and also not too far off from the bustle of Pub Street. Friendly staff and free tuk-tuk's make this a hassle free holiday. Only miss the smiling face of Ms Sona who had looked after us so efficiently on our previous visits.Stayed 8 days this trip and will be back.

if one looks for a hotel that is both comfortable and nicely decorated with great ambience, but not too fancy and also situated comforably near the center but not necessarily in the middle of the noise and hustle ,then this is a great choice! we stayed 5 days with our children and i recommend this place with much joy

The hotel is quiet and the hotel staff were very accommodating to myself and coworkers. Ten mins by tuk tuk from town centre. 20mins from temples. The rooms are simple and very good hot water pressure. Bar food is tasty with chicken basil my favorite dish. Thanks again for your hospitality.

We are travelling with our daughters and had the family suite. The room was large, the bed comfortable, the shower excellent and generally all of the in-room amenities were good. The massages were good and it was always easy to book at short notice. The hotel has good tuktuk drivers that will bring you to all the places you wish.

We stayed at Siddhartha for 3 nights in July and we could not have been happier in our decision. We were greeted at the airport and brought to the hotel one night on dark and forested roads we couldn't wait to see in the daylight. We were greeted with welcome drinks and cool cloths at check in. We had two neighboring rooms on the ground floor with our own verandas near the beautiful pool. Every nook and cranny was lushly landscaped and decorated in understated local style. I am particularly glad that we chose to stay outside of Siem Reap on the Angkor Road. Siem Reap is a great town to visit for restaurants, night life and shopping, but it was really nice to return to the peacefulness and beauty of the Siddhartha after a day visiting the temples. Breakfast was excellent and we ate two very good dinners at the hotel as well. We also enjoyed the use of the spa one day. Each staff member we came across was very helpful, courteous and genuinely friendly. We had hired a guide with a van and driver based on a friend's recommendation so we only used the tuk tuk once to go into town for dinner. It was great, but I was glad to have an A/C car to get to the temples and to some more far flung destinations. I look forward to returning to Cambodia one day and to staying at the Siddhartha once more.

There are numerous highly-ranked hotels here on trip advisor, and it was very hard for us to choose which one to stay in. Ultimately, we decided to go for a mid-range hotel a bit outside of the downtown. We definitely lucked out in our choice, and wish we were still at Siddharta now!

This hotel was simply amazing, and one of the highlights of our vacation. The best thing about it's location is that it is not in the downtown Siem Reap area near Pub Street. Pub Street is a very touristy westernized downtown with restaurants and shopping, very noisy and hectic. It is nice to go to for dinner, but it is much better to stay a bit outside of that area. Siddharta is located closer to the Angkor Wat area and is really like an oasis. Everything at the hotel just makes you feel relaxed and tranquil, and allows you to really enjoy your vacation.

Upon arrival, you receive a welcome drink and cool washcloth, and then are escorted to your room. The rooms are lovely and spacious, with great amenities. One of the nice things about this hotel is that it is relatively new, so all of the facilities are in great condition. The room is decorated with old travel posters and handmade art from local artisans that you can choose to purchase if you like. There is a safe in the room, which is also convenient. The hotel is relatively small, and the rooms are on three levels centered around a courtyard that has a salt water pool. We loved being able to come back every day after visiting the temples and lounge in the pool and cool off.

If you book through the hotel directly, your stay comes with a tuktuk driver included for the entire time. If you choose to book through another source as we did, you can choose to reserve a tuktuk driver. We did so for 3 of the days we stayed, at a rate of $15 per day, which seemed very reasonable. Our driver, Mr. Vanny, was awesome, and knew a lot about the temple areas. One of the best things about Mr. Vanny was that his motorcycle was more powerful than most of the ones we saw, which is a bit better for hauling around big tall Westerners like myself. Most of the sites are included, even Banteay Srei which is a bit far away, but if you want to go to Koh Ker and Beng Melea, you cannot take a tuktuk and must reserve a car. At the hotel it is always free to take a tuktuk into Pub Street area for dinner, and you simply arrange a pickup time and they will pick you up as well. They will also take you to other places, such as the Phare Cambodian circus (which we highly recommend). And airport pickup is also free, though you do have to pay for airport drop off.

Regardless of where you stay, you have the choice of booking a tuktuk or an a/c car for your temple visits. While it might seem like the car is a better option for those of us used to a/c, we highly recommend the tuktuk. First, it is a more authentic experience. But also, you do get a great breeze while riding around and you don't get the delayed air flow you would when first turning on a car. Also, the tuktuk can go places the car cannot. Mr. Vanny took us to the side gate of Ta Prohm, basically in the middle of the jungle, and then we walked down a path to get to the temple itself, rather than having to go to the main gate which is much more touristy. We couldn't have done that in a car.

The staff at Siddharta was amazing, and is very helpful with booking side trips or Apsara dance shows, or buying circus tickets. The hotel also has spa facilities, which my wife took advantage of. It is more expensive than the massages in town, but you get more of a spa ambiance at the hotel.

The food at the hotel is fantastic! Breakfast, which is included, is ridiculous. It is a huge array of Cambodian and Western dishes, fresh fruit, and juices. We also ate dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious. It is slightly more expensive than some of the restaurants in town but dinner there was the best meal we had in Cambodia. We highly recommend the fish amok. Their homemade iced tea is also very good. We also had lunch delivered to us by the pool one of the days.

The only negative thing to say about the hotel is that the elevator was broken for the majority of our stay. It wasn't a big issue for us, but the restaurant is on the 3rd floor, so it could present a problem for breakfast if you don't handle stairs well.

All in all, we can't wait to return to Siem Reap and Siddharta! What a great value. Our stay there really felt like the perfect vacation. We highly recommend this charming hotel!

This tranquil little hotel was a great way to decompress after visiting Angkor Wat. It's out of the main stretch of hotels, which was nice because it was quiet, but we did wonder if it would have been better to be where all the action was. They put out a nice array of breakfast items at the buffet in the morning, and their rooftop restaurant is great for an evening cocktail or for taking pictures. The pool is small with not very many chairs, but that's all part of the hotel's charm. Very helpful staff, too, to help organize transportation.
