My cousin and I visited Siem Reap and we booked Bunwin not knowing what to expect. It was amazing!!! First. The hotel had arranged a free tuktuk from airport to hotel. The kind driver met us and once at the tuktuk the driver opened up a cooler and gave us chilled bottled water and cool towels on a silver platter!!! After a 30minute ride through Siem Reap we arrived at Bunwin Boutique Hotel. We were greeted warmly with a nice cool drink and after an ungodly early flight from Kuala Lumpur we were pleased with the hospitality. We were given a room although it was only 8am. We had requested a room with two beds and the hotel was brilliant at accomodating us. We dropped our stuff in the room and by the time we freshened up the hotel had arranged, at our request, a tuktuk driver and guide whose name was Kia. We were whisked off to the temples and had a full day of sightseeing. The tuktuk for the day was $15 and English speaking guide was $25. So worth it as Kia knew exactly how to avoid the crowds allowing us to get the most of our tour. The hotel was spotless with quite a lush garden and pool setting (I find geckos charming but if you do not you might not want to come to South East Asia as they are everywhere and with the garden setting of the hotel. even more so). The room was nice with a huge walkin shower, safe, great TV with lots of channels and comfy beds. Breakfast was good with fresh sqeezed juice and real coffee, bread basket and choice of three breakfast types, continental, American ans Asian. The restaurant has a good menu with reasonable prices and they have room service! The hotel is a ten minute tuktuk ride into town but hotel provides free rides until 11pm and they give you a cell phone to call them anytime if you need anything when away from the hotel. Overall, the hotel is absolutley peacful and lovely. Happy hour at the cute little bar has two for one beer and house wine from 6 to 8. The front desk even arranged our taxi to the Poipet, the boarder with Thailand, for $35. My only minor complaint would be a bit of rubbish burning that takes place on the outside of hotel and the smoke sometimes vents through, they should move the burning futher away. Super advice is to bring American $$$ EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE in Cambodia is priced in US$$. Entrance fee to park for three days is $40. GoForIt!!!
