“Great place for a swim, Great spa”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

Every expat in Siem Reap has their favorite "swimming hole." Mine is Angkor Era. Very reasonable prices and rarely crowded (a short distance out of town does wonders!). I use their pool and spa facility (very regularly). A great place to escape the mayhem of the downtown area and relax by the pool with a book or get a workout in in the airconditioned gym.

Upon finishing the massage at the Amara Spa went off to the counter, I saw a young lady sitting on the floor unattended, with painful face holding her foot. She hurt herself at the last step down which was specially deep, as compared to all the others, pls see photo. The stair was quite dark and at night when you were retired it is very easy to loss the high alert on it. We reported to the manager who had quite a slow response trying to help that lady. As I am checking out now, just want to alert anybody to stay in this hotel. I heard that she was eventually sent to hospital. Will write again ....

Dear Guominer,
Greeting from Angkor Era Hotel.
First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing Angkor Era Hotel of your accommodation here in Siem Reap, Cambodia!
Kindly please accept our deepest apology for having an uncomfortable experience here at ANGKOR ERA HOTEL. The information came to our attention and we deeply sad to know how displeased you are because of our interior design that have “ruined” your stay.
Further to your concern, we have brought up the case into our Management meeting to find the way to settle the case should not happen this kind of unpleasant incident anymore. Finally we have decided to install the new light together with another footstep to minimize the possible gap to stop the accident and make our guest feel convenient whenever they access to the Spa area.
Once again, thank you very much for your comment and look forward to serving you at our hotel in the near future.
Yours Sincerely,
The Management

The check in service was very friendly and the rooms large -- we overlooked the pool which was very nice (although service non-existent). The look is of a luxury hotel, but it is working its way there. The hotel focuses on training local staff in the hotel industry which we really liked -- however, you are not going to get Raffles service!

While we were there the hotel seemed to have only large travel groups and the restaurants were empty at night. However, we were able to order anything on the menu and it was pretty good. They can arrange for a tuk tuk to take you to town (10 mins) and wait for only $8, so the location was not an issue for us.

Our first day, our travel company guide did not show (scheduling error) and the hotel went to great lengths to find us a replacement guide. They were very accomodating! (We missed our airport shuttle on arrival -- couldn't manage to find one another and the staff apologized each time they saw us!).

The breakfast is enormous -- but opens at 6am, which is too late if you are going for sunrise at a temple. However, most temple guides will take you to breakfast near the temple right after, so not an issue.

The spa was well staffed, but only a single room -- massage tables in a row. Great massage, but not very fancy. On the other hand, not very expensive! If you want a fancy spa, head to the Intercontinental!

If you want to be near to the action in Siam Reap, this hotel is not for you. However, if you want a large hotel with a nice pool and comfortable, clean large rooms, and don't mind a short tuk tuk ride by all means stay here!

This hotel is lovely. It is out of town so taxi and tuk tuk was more expensive but we liked the peace and quite.

We had a family suite and it was wonderful. 3 rooms joined together with balcony views of the pool area.

We arrived before check in due to our flight and staff were so friendly and accomodating to us. We ate in the restaurant there and the food and service was lovely.

There is an issue with ants if you leave sweet foods out but we have encountered this a few times in various Asian hotels.

Upon check-in a beautiful very large bowl of fruit is left in the room for you along with home made cookies.

The mini bar is well stocked but quite expensive. Internet was very reliable, fast and free.

Our biggest disappointment was our treatment by pool staff. We are unsure if it is because we stuck out in a hotel that obviously caters to Asian clients however we were removed from the pool area and told we could not swim during our stay as we had UV Protectant Swimwear and it looked too much like a t-shirt.

We asked if we could explain our swimwear to the supervisor (who had apparently sent staff out to remove us) we were told we could not and that we had to leave the pool area.

We spent 3 days trying to explain to two sad children why they could not swim in the pool when it was obvious from our balcony that other non western swimmers in cotton T-shirts were not being removed.

It was very disappointing.

Room Tip: Rooms that look out onto the pool area are lovely.

My fiance and I came here to celebrate my birthday - from 2 November to 7 November 2013. I booked our stay through zuji.com.au and am so glad I chose Angkor Era for our second trip to Cambodia!

We actually called the hotel during our lay over in Singapore to organise the free airport pick up on the day of our check in (my bad - should have given more notice). We were so happy to have the lovely Tom Vanny and Chantith to greet us so warmly at Siem Reap airport after our two flights! Aw kohn!

From the super smooth check in with delightfully refreshing welcoming drinks - the incredible staff at Angkor Era treated us like V.I.P's. They even blessed me with a delicious birthday cake on my special day. I have never stayed anywhere where I felt as spoilt as I did at Angkor Era - you exceeded my expectations!

We were booked into a wonderful deluxe pool view room which was clean, quiet, spacious and absolutely charming - a large bath tub, separate shower, free WI-FI, lots of pay tv channels.

The hotel mainly caters to Asian tourists - so we stuck out in the breakfast room but to be honest it wasn't a problem at all. In fact, I dare say we were a bit of a novelty - we even met a few staff members who really enjoyed practising English which was great.

The pool is fantastic for a dip after exploring temples and it's a great size! The grounds are kept immaculately clean. The food and drinks are also fantastic - I stuck with the Khmer cuisine because it's not common here in Sydney, Australia - absolutely delectable!

If you are after a driver while sight seeing, ask for Chantith. Chantith is the safest and friendliest driver you could ever find in Siem Reap!

Thank you to the amazing Angkor Era staff - we want to visit again as soon as possible. I wish each and every one of you the very best. Aw kohn!

Very impresssive hotel amidst the chaos of Siem Reap. The location is not far from the Angkor Temples, close enough in fact that the hotel can arrange transportation, guide services etc. at extreamly reasonable prices which is a smart way to go given that Siem Reap is not the safest city in the world to visit.

The rooms are very large, with comfortable beds and all the modern ammenities in addition to some great balcony views.

They have two restaruants on site, one is buffet style and the other offers more formal choices, I dined at both places and had no complaints

The staff speaks good english and are all smiles which makes the stay just that much more enjoyable. They have a terrific full spa downstairs that offres fantastic massage treatments at prices that are un heard of in the more developed countries.

This hotel is an excellant choice for business or tourist travel alike. They offer free in room internet service as well as a business center with complimentary printer / copier service.

Possibly the best ammenity this gem has to offer in the huge saltwater pool in the center of the complex, it is amazing! A very refreshing way to end a day of sightseeing in the sweltering tempurtures and high humidity that is so common in this part of the world.

***An important safety tip - Siem Reap can be a dangerous city for forigners that get too adventuresome and stumble into areas they don't belong in. (espessialy at night) Use both caution as well as common sence in your travels - Enjoy!

From the welcoming drink to the airport, the services are so amazing!
I am very satisfy with their services provided and the hotel facilities.
Most important is my parent that have difficulty in adapting to the overseas environment also have A great vacation there and they enjoy!
One things that I can say not satisfy is no Wifi at room, only around the lobby area.
