“Great value for money”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

Hi Siem Reap is a friendly and clean hostel that is great value for money (especially the 50cent happy hour beers). Just make sure you pay the extra $2 and get air-con in your room - while we stayed there a couple of people switched rooms because the heat was unbearable with just a swing fan.

The rooms were sizable and en-suite, with large comfy beds - something we didn't expect at the price we paid!

Wifi was good enough, as were the staff. The free breakfast consists of bread, butter and marmalade. Not particularly social but clean and good location, just opposite part of the night market. I'd splash out on air con as the fan was pretty useless.

I can't say enough nice things about staying here. The staff is very friendly en helpful. They give you very fairly information about tourist activities in Siem Reap and every day the staff ask you upright how are you today?. Beside that the rooms are very clean, comfortable and quiet! Highly recommended!

First of all I'm sure there are places that are just as good as this one, however I am talking from my own experience and I would stay here for as long as I was in Cambodia if all the 'go to' places were near ie sihanoukville, the Killing Fields etc.

We had it booked for two nights and have extended for two extra nights already. As I write, this will be our third night.

The staff are the friendliest I've experienced so far, and all of the staff at the hostels in Thailand/Nepal Ive stayed in have been fantastic. They are genuinely ready to help with any request. They offer tours to the temples at incredibly reasonable prices whether you wish to travel by tuktuk or a van (we went via tuktuk today and it was great, you get a breeze whilst driving which rivals any a/c of a taxi/van). The taxi driver from the airport to the hostel will offer the same tours in his taxi for around $25/$30 which is also not actually a bad deal but I prefer doing it with the hostel as it is actually the staff that drive you round, not a randon tuktuk driver.

Foods great (fried noodles vegetables with chicken/beef or pork $2, can't argue with that!

Theres a pool table outside and and the music plays until around 11/12pm which is great if you want to chillout.

Dorms are clean, good prices, friendly staff plus a great location, 3 minute walk from the bridge over which the restaurants are and which then close to Pub Street.

Book it for a couple of nights and I guarantee you will book extra nights

We stayed 4 days, we booked a double room with fan.

- : they never cleaned the room and didn't change our towels. There was no water in our room when we arrived. Extremely Basic breakfast (bread butter jam tee cofee, it will be a good idea to offers milk chocolate pancake eggs bacon etc )
The staff was extremely nice except the girl at the BO during the morning : she refused to book for us a restaurant !

The hostel offers bike for rent for 1$ per day. Considering the bad quality, they could do that for free. ( there is a bike rental at the end of the road : good Dutch bike for 1$ per day )

+ : very good location - wifi worked well and the room was very comfortable and well equiped. The balcony was really nice also. The staff was very helpful and smiley ! Good price for the tuk tuk ( 13$ per day ) and the driver gave us some good tips during our trip to the temples.

I stayed here for 3nights in March! The hostel was a regular hostel no more, no less. But the Staff and the owner John was amazing! So Nice and funny and helped with everything. If you like to party this is the best! If don't it's still very good!

The location is excellent, a few meters from the art and craft market and a 5min walk to pub street. The staff is very helpfull and the rooms are nice and clean. Just be shure not to get the rooms facing the buddist monastery next doors, because the monks get really loud early in the morning....

Room Tip: If you want to sleep try to get a room not facing the nearby monastery
