“Not a boutique hotel!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

We, me, my husband and three children, stayed three nights here in February 2014. We had two rooms on the ground floor. The rooms were ok, but you couldn't open a window and the air-con i one of the rooms made so much noise you could't sleep with it on. There were no cleaning of the rooms, but everyday they brought new towels and water, they just forgot to take away the used towels. We had a leak in the bathroom, so our towels got really wet, as we put them on the floor as not to slip. We piled the wet towels by the bathroom door, and everyday the pile got higher. The noise from the bars surrounding the hotel is not to bad, but we're heavy sleepers. However the noise from the reception was really bad some nights, with people shouting in both english and Khmer.
Breakfast was ok, as we booked through booking.com we got a different breakfast than the rest of the guests, and sat all alone in an otherwise closed restaurant.
The people at the reception are nice, but they don't know anything!

I spent five nights at this hotel. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The wi-fi signal was strong. I had no trouble sleeping at night and was not bothered by any noise. I was given clean towels and fresh bottled water every day, although they did not change the sheets everyday, but that does not bother me. It is well located right in the middle of everything. My only minor complaint was that the hot water wasn't always hot in the morning, but it was perfectly hot at other times of day and night so I never went without a shower. I would stay at this hotel again.

I have travelled extensively throughout all of Europe, Asia, North and South America. Never have I encountered such poor service and a lack of help from hotel staff. I placed our booking 8 days prior to arrival, and after a 6 hour bus trip from Phnom Penh, arrived at the hotel, only to have had our booking released. This was after 2 confirmation emails from booking websites and our bank. The receptionist maintained that because we had booked with a website company instead of directly, he could not be held responsible, even though admitting they had made a mistake. Consulting with the Heart of Angkor website, I couldn't even navigate it to the homepage, let alone view the booking options. I would love to be able to write something helpful and advise other travellers about the facilities and rooms etc. however, didn't get the opportunity because of one person's incapablilities. As for the money we have paid, well, that's another issue.

We were lucky that we had only booked one night. The room was a dump hole without windows and even the matress seemed to be wet.
The breackfast was in the lobby very improvised and the reception was not friendly.
Besides the place is noisy. So better look for something else.

Room Tip: Make sure that your room has a real window. The curtains are just there that there seems to be one.

Nice and clean rooms - if you want to party whole night and sleep during the day - this is the place for you.
For all other travellers - you won't have much sleep because there is a disco next door and they won't stop before 5am ...

the location is good, actually all the hotels in Siem Reap are having a good location, since you will be in the middle of Siem Reap or at the boarders... there is 2 good locations in Siem Reap, either the pub street, or the night market. there is 4 KM between those two important places. in case you are planning a trip to the Angkor Wat, you need a Bicycle or a Tuk-tuk driver for the whole day anyways. the hotel is very clean and the smell of Cambodia is filling the place there, the floor is fully covered by the wood -yes! real wood- and the location is 3 minutes walking from the pub street, and 15 minutes from the night market. they do have a good laundry service and hot showers as well! price wise i was kinda surprise how less is the price compare to the quality of the rooms which they have. they do have rooms with fans in case you are budget traveller, but in Cambodia its recommended to pay for the AC. the weather can be very hot day and night time. staff are very helpful and they are honest and trusted. they can guide you to the good travel agencies in order to get a good service with low price. because everybody else tries to make money out of you in any possible way, you have to be careful all times. they speak english as well! you can also buy tickets for busses in case you would like to go to Phnom Penh or Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam.

Room Tip: rooms are big, clean and quite. 2nd floor is good.

This place is truly excellent. The staff are fantastic, the rooms are spacious and clean and it still manages to achieve value for money. The central location is perfect during the day but means that the noise from X-bar next door (music often till sunrise) may keep you awake at night, unless you're up there contributing to the party. Most or all rooms are en-suite with hot water and include a TV and laundry, bicycle rental and bus services are all available. Unfortunately you may also have to put up with dogs barking any time from 2-6am so bring ear plugs :)

Room Tip: Rooms on the left hand side of the corridors are exposed to much more sunlight than those on the rig...
