“best secret in Seim Reap”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

One of the most delightful experiences of my life was finding this hotel. The French owner was very personable in making our stay special. The hotel pool is the best i have experienced in that it was clean and with the waterfall so artistic and unique. It seemed that the Asian visitors were not interested in it but I a Canadian love the water. The light European style breakfast was served in style and care.
The location is in the heart of the town where one block away is the busy street of banks and stores. I recommend this place highly. See it for yourself.

Room Tip: quieter rooms are away from the front street

We stayed for a few nights in a double room for $13/night. Room includes air-con, fridge, TV, wifi, water bottles, towels, soap etc. and private bathroom. There was a bit of an odd smell in the bathroom though but the shower was strong and hot. The room was overall quite nice and big, the bed was a bit small. Our room was cleaned daily.

We got picked-up from the bus stop for free. But otherwise the hotel doesn't live up to its promises on the website. No free breakfast, no free bicycles, no free coffee/tea/fruit.

The hotel is located a bit outside of the centre, which means less noise but also a 20 minutes walk. We hired bicycles for $1/day and could therefore move freely around town and even to Angkor Wat and the other temples.

First- Walk-in rate is $14/night- I pay less because I have been going here during the time of 3 separate owners, but the latest owner has added a fresh, clean, boutiquy (sp?) feel that I believe makes it eh perfect value for a 'rest' hotel. No high pressure tour sales- just basic, honest staff. No breakfast- but clean rooms, air con, fridge, cable tv and less damp than most hotels here. Very simple but perfect. I used to come here just for the showers which blast out warm or refreshing water more than any other hotel I've experienced. This is not a 5 star hotel- It is more like a gem with a few insignificant flaws- maybe a loose handle on a faucet, i.e. What it is is refreshingly simple, avoids the sleazy aggressive tourist providers- posts honest, super reasonable rates - clean firm sheets with comforters and nice aesthetic touches. The new owner is a Khmer woman with just nice enough tastes- I bring my own pillow one time. the next time she asks to see my pillow so she can see if she can find a good, feathered pillow in Cambodia. Close to everything as well but on a quiet street- If you want even quieter ask for a room in back. Oh- and fast wi-fi- FREE. Also- this is where Cambodians stay more than foreigners but everyone is welcome. NO BAR but many bars close by.

Room Tip: Quietest rooms are in back but are not the biggest- corner rooms up front have balcony.
