We stayed at the Villa Medamrei for 7 nights. Loved everything about the hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Ate some dinners at the hotel and the food was very good, and inexpensive. Loved sitting out on the deck and looking out over at the city street below us. The location was so centrally located, just around the block from the old night market. Would love to go back and would definetley stay again at the Villa Medamrei. Great value for the money. Thank you to the wonderful staff!!!

Highly recommended! We stayed at Villa Medamrei for 3 nights - great place to stay. Very good location - short walk to the markets, Pub Street, etc. Clean and comfortable rooms, nice breakfasts (included), friendly staff. We hired a tuk tuk driver for two days to take us around the Angkor temples thru the front desk - he was great too - very friendly and always managed to spot us amongst the crowd as we exited the temples. Great place - highly recommended!

We were in doubt when the tuk tuk (free transfer service from hotel) stopped right in front of Villa Madamrei. Both sides of the entrance are covered by plants. You might have missed it during night time. We were welcomed with some refreshing juice drinks and banana chips. We all love the banana chips so much!! The rooms are small but nicely decorated (Balinese feel). The staffs are overall friendly and helpful. We were so glad that we spent 3 nights at Villa Medamrei! excellent place to stay! value of money is good!

I've just left the hotel an hour ago for the airport. I cried on the tuk tuk because of it was too hard to say goodbye to the wonderful staff at the hotel!! I really felt being well looked after and everything about this place is immaculate. I can't recommend more and please I hope it doesn't become too popular so I can't book it next time!!

Villa Medamrei contacted us the same day we made our booking through a third-party reservation service, offering us a free transfer service. We were picked us up from our coach stop and were warmly welcomed at the hotel with a refreshing juice drink and a run-through of how the hotel worked and our plans during our stay.

Our room was small but beautifully decorated, including air con and a flat screen tv. The location of the hotel is a very short walk away from pub street and the Phsar Chas market, but it was incredibly quiet. Breakfast was included in the room price and extremely tasty - dishes included eggs, bacon and hash browns, a choice of omelettes, sandwiches and noodle dishes. The restaurant room (which we only visited for breakfast) was airy and had a large balcony where people could sit out.

The hotel had dedicated tuk-tuk drivers that offered tours of the Angkor Temples. We only wanted to visit for one day and wanted to avoid as many crowds as possible, so we were happy to skip sunrise and sunset visits and leave the rest of the itinerary to the driver. We left our hotel at 8:30am and stopped briefly at an office where we paid 20 dollars each for a one day pass and had our photo taken. The driver outlined a suggested itinerary which we agreed with. Then we were dropped off by Bayon Temple and the tuk tuk driver pointed out in the distance where he would be meet us. We wandered from there through Baphuon and other Angkor Thom sights, the trees afforded a lot of shade which was lovely. Our driver was waiting for us the other side with some cold water bottles, which was incredibly welcome on a very hot day! We were then dropped off at one entrance of Tah Prohm, which we walked through and then met our driver on the other side. He then took us to a local restaurant for a good value and tasty meal. After that we were dropped off at Angkor Wat. It was already one o'clock at that point which meant it was very hot but practically empty of other tourists, which was really welcome, especially as Tah Prohm had been absolutely choked with coach-loads of tourists. After our Angkor Wat visit we were taken back to the hotel. The tour cost 15 dollars which we felt was excellent value.

A few tips - being transported by tuk tuk is fantastic on a hot day as it is breezy and you see so much, but bring a face mask or cover of some kind as the roads can be very dusty. If you are interested in avoiding the big crowds, the big tour coaches that transport 25-75 visitors at a time follow this itinerary - sunrise at Angkor Temples, then back to Siem Reap for breakfast, then back to the temples until lunchtime where they are ferried back to Siem Reap for a very long lunch, etc. So knowing this, our driver was able to work around these times, and we really appreciated it.

The service at the hotel was always at a very high quality, with all staff friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our visit here and were sad to leave it and Siem Reap!

I do love Siem Reap city so much and the hotel that we were stayed is located in a nice walking street, a little bit far from the party areas, and there are lots of guests with families and small children. So, don't expect a rave atmosphere. There is a nice location where you can find some good choices to eat, like Amok Restaurant that located to the most Popular waking street " pop street ". The room we stayed was very good and comfortable, and good valuable paid.
