Service was great! The manager and staff did everything they could to make our trips hassle free and relaxing. Communication was a little difficult though, as the staff and manager could speak little English. But that didn't stop them from being extremely helpful :) The manager helped us arrange our itinerary and our transport (tuk-tuk). Explorers House was clean and had a very fun, colourful interior. Would recommend it if you're looking for a comfortable budget stay.

Though we stayed only for one night before heading back home, both me and my travelling partner agreed that this guesthouse is just awesome.

The room is clean and comfortable except that there's an issue with clogging at the shower area, but to us it's just a small matter. We were greeted by the housekeeper, an Indonesian lady who is very attentive. She served us cold drinks as she notice that we were tired from 5-hour journey from Phnom Penh, without us requesting for it. Talking about excellent customer service!

Will definitely recommend this place to our fellow Muslim travellers as they have 100% halal food serve and also qiblat direction being pointed on the ceiling for praying purpose.

There is not enough space in this review to express my disappointment with this guesthouse. These are just the main issues.
Communication via email is in perfect english, but when we arrived the manager (who had been sending the emails) could hardly speak a word.
We paid for a "private transfer" from the border, at the recommendation of the above-mentioned manager, so as to avoid being scammed and hustled, but no transfer was sent, instead we went through what felt EXACTLY like a scam/hustle, only to take a taxi from the bus station, and still get charged for the transfer. (I could not argue with the manager, because he could not understand me.) I did manage to speak to the owner, who after promising to look into the situation, insults us with a "partial refund" of the tranfer overpayment. I only took it so that the assistant manager, who was told to give it to me, did not feel embarrased.
Food prices at the restaurant are also MUCH higher than you will find at other restaurants.
The "tours" organised through the guesthouse, which they push to organise before you arrive, are poor quality, and again more expensive than other agencies or operators.
The only thing that changes the rating from terrible to poor, is the fact that the staff are great and friendly.
We will never stay here again!

There was a private taxi arranged by us with your name on it.
However, our restaurant is NOT expensive as compared to other restaurants. We take serious considerations when we set-up all the prices on the menu. We are not sure which restaurants you compared the price with, our restuarnts are comparable to thecafe located next to us, our restaurant is air-coditioned, nice ambience, clean, equipped with a flat screen tv and free wi-fi usage for all our customers. With that, the prices we show on our menu are reasonable for the food and service we offer.
About the tours,we never push ,but we always encourage early booking to ensure high quality tours. Our guests are free to book tours from other places as well. However, your booking was only confirmed 2 days after arrival. We offer reasonable price on our tours. For example the licensed tour guide service ,we only charge USD25 for English speaking guide. All the prices that we charge are the prices we posted on our website. We dont over-charged.
