It was a relief being in this place because of Mr. Gilles who runs this place. Being a French man, running a hostel in Siem Reap turns out to be beneficiary for the travellers as he is someone who speaks proper English, is well aware of the scams and threats around for tourists and warns you about it every morning you leave. Trust me you need that in Cambodia.
Overall a very welcoming and helpful place.

Gilles, the owner, is very friendly and knows exactly where everything is. The location is perfect. Maximum of 5 minutes to pub street. Rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. The curtains were closed when we walked in, it was when we looked behind them that we realised why. Please clean this up Gilles! It was disgusting. We just kept the curtains closed, not a big deal but still not pleasant in any room no matter at what price. Nice hostel, with a nice atmosphere.

Nice owner from Malaysia took us in and gave us nice rooms with attached bathrooms. Overall clean but could use better lighting outside the rooms. Location is very good and near Old Market/Angkor Night Market/Pub Street, big plus! Owner can arrange for transport to Angkor Wat and bus to Phnom Penh one day in advance if needed.

Side note : If you plan to bus to Phnom Penh then use the Giant Ibis bus (14 USD) over the Sorya Bus (10 USD), tried both and Giant Ibis takes an hour less with only one lunch stop instead of multiple pick-up stops.

The guy who runs the place, Gilles, is very friendly and nice. The place is very clean. It's a good value for money. And it's just 5 minutes away by walking from the old Siem Reap market. I recommend it to those in a shoe string budget.
