My first time in Angkor, we spend one week at the Hotel we enjoyed from perfect environment.
excellent food, excellent service, the staff were extremely helpful in arranging all the attraction for us,

just a great place to start or finish a vacation.

And big thanks to Anna Yuki from the hotel crew who made our vacation perfect!!!

When my husband and I arrived here in Siem Reap with our three kids,5,3 and 1,we had spent our first night at our already booked hotel which we found disappointing,so the next day after a bit of research-Trip Advisor of course-we were able to book into The Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort! It actually cost less than our first hotel and ticked way more boxes! The swimming pool is amazing for the kids, has two sectioned off areas where they can stand up and play even for our 18month old!We had a pool side villa,so during nap time, mummy and daddy can have a mojito on the balcony!
Service, food, facilities and cleanliness I give ten out of ten!
For us with our young family, the most important was a good swimming pool and I would definately recommended here!

We chose to spend Christmas at this resort . The General Manager and Resident Manager together with all the staff extended every courtesy and hospitality to make our Christmas the most spectacular occasion we have ever experienced.
The Christmas Eve Gala celebrations left us totally speechless.
The villas were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with every facility available at our fingertips.
Breakfast buffet was professionally presented and the staff at hand to meet any guests needs.
We would not hesitate to return to our next visit and warmly recommend it to all our friends

We had a very big and nice room in the main building of the hotel. The bathroom was as big as we never saw before.....Staff (reception, guest relation officer, waiters in the restaurant) were extremely nice and helpful. We enjoyed massages in the Spa and were very happy about them. The most exciting was the big covered outdoor restaurant, situated in beautiful nature (junglelike with lot of green, water and flowers). Just marvellous! Even the tuktuk drivers near the hotels were kind and reliable. If we go back to Siem Reap, we will chose this resort again!

A hotel with excellent pool and outdoor ambiance, 5* room but at best 3* bathroom. Website promised a rain shower -- not to be found. Management not willing to accept that website was misleading. Spa facilities not worthy of the room tariff. Given that you will probably spend most of the time visiting temples probably not worth spending this kind of money -- especially if a nice bathroom is important to you. Breakfast facility was very average.

Room Tip: do not waste money on choosing pool side villa - go for garden side

After a disasterous stay in Phnom Penh, we were dreading this hotel as we only paid £21 per night for it. However by the time we left we had fallen in love with it. From the beautiful pool area, good breakfast buffet, lush gardens, good gym and golf buggies available at all times to drive you around the complex of three hotels. When we arrived we were greeted by the customer manager who was incredibly helpful and friendly and even showed us to our room, then offered to change it because the door was a bit sticky.

The staff were unbelievably accommodating bar the poor guy who was summoned to our room to remove the gecko, who was clearly more frightened than us and simply swapped our room instead. The pool was great to relax after a busy day at Angkor Wat, and they have afternoon and evening entertainment, although it doesn't tend to be that busy, along with a good cocktail happy hour.

As we were they pre-xmas most of the better hotels had very showy decorations on the street. The Sokhalay was by far the best which was impressive. The pool area was also very well decorated and the band/duo even played xmas songs at our request.

If you get chance, it is worth getting a tuk tuk or taxi to the floating village (the larger one) as this was something that we didn't expect much from but ended up really enjoying.

Stayed one night on the weekend. Everything was wonderful. We couldn't check in early but they let us use the facilities and this was the same upon check-out as our we were taking the night bus and had 6 hrs to kill. People were friendly, booked us bikes, tuk-tuks and buses. We stayed in a twin deluxe suite and the room was clean, plenty of room, all amenities included and the bathroom was wonderful too. The bed was a very hard khmer style bed, not the best sleep I've had. Room service was quick when we needed something and getting around the huge resort was easy to do with the golf carts. The pool is large and breakfast provides a wide variety of western and asian foods, which was all delicious. there is also an indoor lap pool with gym and spa which is for all hotel guest and was great to use. The resort is away from the main hustle and bustle of the city centre like most of the large hotels/resorts and its a $4 one-way tuktuk ride away. Would stay again!
