Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort

I LOVED my stay at Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort! I was awestruck by the size and beauty of our room. Gorgeous! The grounds are beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts in the open air restaurant. So relaxing. You can look out over the pool or enjoy the koi-filled moat, guessing the names of all the fauna and fruit trees. And, the food is delicious! The staff are wonderful, too, so friendly and helpful. I miss them, especially Visal & Anna! You cannot find a better place to stay.

Room Tip: Our room was perfect. In front, convenient to Reception, the starting point of all our excursions...

I chose this hotel because I needed a room which can accommodate 4 person, and I was lucky to have chosen this. We stayed at the inn which was cheaper than the villa, but the facilities are shared. The rooms are spacious with a big swimming pool. The staffs are really friendly and attentive, always have a smile on their faces and eager to be of help! It makes you feel at home. Though the hotel is priced on the higher side and is a distance from the night market area but a tuk tuk solves the problem. Thumbs up!

Good things:
- Service
- Spacious Villas/Rooms.
- Wonderful pool

To improve:
- Air Con direct to the bed, personally I don't like it.
- I prefer shower rather than bath tub
- The property is quite big, so you need a golf car move to the exit.
- Outdoor breakfast: considering the nature surrounding

Loved this hotel, would go back tomorrow & can definitely recommend it. From arrival to departure customer service was fabulous, and it was refreshing to see senior management so highly visible & approachable. We met Michael Lim (Gen Mgr), Bunieng Kou (Resident Mgr) and Vannaroath Teng Dr. Sales & Marketing) to name a few. All were very interested to hear from us & welcomed guest comments since they are looking to lift brand profile and ways in which to improve. Our room (pool view villa) was spacious, clean, quiet, with a comfy bed & aircon that worked well. It also had a great view over the central pool but perhaps they should warn guests that each villa block is a 4 room (2 up 2 down) and not all people are able to manage to stairs. The pool area we had mostly to ourselves as most people tended to go off resort touring during the day (visited during Chinese New Year). Loved the spa service & so cheap but it lacked ambiance & was subject to external construction noise during treatments (not ideal). The Green Room restaurant caters for breakfast, lunch & dinner & although OK could be better. The breakfast choices are not up to standard and service & presentation was patchy. The public areas in the main hotel also lacked atmosphere (bar/coffee shop?) but overall made little difference to our stay. Location was perfect (close to airport, town & the Angkor temples) & easy to arrange car or Tuk Tuk. Overall what made our stay so enjoyable was the friendliness of the staff and their eagerness to be of service.

Don't expect absolutely everything to run smoothly since this is Cambodia & tourism still relatively young - do be pleasantly surprised as we were!.

Room Tip: Pool view definitely but be prepared for nightly entertainment music up till around 10pm.

We have just spent three of the greatest nights in Siem Reap. This hotel has the loveliest grounds, very good food at breakfast buffett, pool bar with delicious "snacks" and dinner by the pool area. All have selection of Cambodian and Western food, all we enjoyed very much. Pool is beautiful and romantic but also very family oriented. We were fortunate to be upgraded at check in to a very large and beautiful room at the pool area. Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful and truly cared about our enjoyment and comfort.
Concierge, James, put us with incredible guide, Samnang, and driver, Kong, for the best journey to many Angkor sites and experiences. Samnang is so knowledgable, humorous and considerat and Kong was good driver the whole way.
We would give this hotel, staff and contacts they gave us more than excellent rating. We are sad to leave.

Room Tip: This hotel has teak all over and solid doors, great construction for easy sleeping and plenty of pri...

After a month long tour we were looking for a place to relax away from any city hustle.

The weather was perfect for lounging around the pool, you can swim in circles under the two bridges and around the bar. The pool was practically deserted during the day as most people are touring.

As we are visiting during Chinese New Year it is quite busy at night and morning breakfasts.

Not many restaurants except hotel restaurants, so we had to tuk tuk to town for dinners. It was a $3 ride each way, some tuk tuk drivers ask for as much as $7 to town, you can get a better price.
Great place if you dont mind being away from the main town and all the action.

There was a great time in Siem Reap before Chinese New Year and we selected Sokhalay Angkor inn as our staying.
We arrived a little late night so figure out that the room view really dark, but early morning we really surprise with the green view of the garden, and the green water of small river there. Make everyone of us feel really excited.

After a whole day trip, we decided to relax by the pool which really huge and a lot of European from over the world there. I have chit chat with one of them then they shared us that this is one of good place among Asian country for their 2 weeks holiday.

We step out with the feel of unwanted, their staff talk to us politely and their smile really make me feel comfortable.
I promise that I will share this is the recommended 100% to be your choice of stay in Siem Reap.
My last word, reception staffs smile so good.

Room Tip: Room with small river view
