“Excellent value”
Reviewed 12 June 2012

I ordered the sea bass 'en robe d'orange' which had an excellent sauce and presentation though the crunchy ribbon strips of barley flavoured zuchini strips that came with were not my cup of tea. The dish was a steal at $15 given it's caliber. The wine was decent (a rarity in Cambodia) and fairly priced for the portion tho I did have a white, I'm afraid of reds here. No matter the brand at some point in their journey here they are almost always left to cook in the elements and u just can't let red wine sit in 30+ weather without spoiling it completely.
The detractor of this place is the staff but it's not a huge complaint. Their lack of English, it really is poorer than elsewhere, and I can guess their French is no better. They were a bit loomy at times having not mastered the 'there but not there' skill of a good waiter and not always paying attention when u did need something. When it came to desert the crunchy banana one I asked for was supposedly not avail but the 2 suggestions were conveniently the ones that entailed the least skill and effort (the boss was not in the kitchen). Mango w sticky rice hardly requires michelin skills and I'm certainly not going to pay $6 to have it here. I did go for the other which was grilled fruit w ginger syrup, probably because I was pining for a much fancier (and considerably cheaper) grilled fruit w a kind of soft meringue that blue pumpkin used to have on it's menu. Sigh. It is still lowish season so it's possible they just dropped some things off the menu, just suspicious and really unclear(see language barrier). That said it was tasty, just not worth it really.
The star was the main. All in all I would recommend this place as being a great bet for your more upscale dining cravings. Also, the update to the review that mentioned construction, yes, the major overhaul is done across the street and it is a gorgeous view of architectural splendour a joy to behold while dining. I found the view and atmosphere at Cassia to be most pleasant and relaxing. This place is WELL worth a visit.

“Lovely last meal”
Reviewed 9 June 2012

Before heading to airport, we had a last lunch at this nice restaurant. Good rose wine and food of high quality. One of the two girls attending the table was not very experienced, what faulted the service a little bit, especially as the two dished were not served at the same time. I had fish and my husband had squid cambodian style. Both were very tasteful. The decoration of the restaurant is nice and it is in a quiet street, what is good for a change from the busy Pub Street surroundings. A little pricey but still affordable.

“Very enjoyable evening”
Reviewed 14 April 2012 via mobile

We visited Cassia restaurant on our penultimate night in Cambodia, and had a very enjoyable evening. We sat outside, and got a great view of the entertainment. Food was of a very high standard, and service excellent. Would highly recommend.

“Decadent”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

This place is lovely in every respect. The surroundings are modern and stylish, the service impeccable. We chose the Cambodian entree, which had nine..yes NINE.. Morsels to taste. Then, we both had Cambodian mains, which were beautiful, but impossible to finish, after such a large entree. Mains were $9. There were many Western dishes on offer, but as this was our last night in Cambodia, we chose local dishes. Highly recommended

“Is it really French?”

Dissapointing quality. Red wine was served cold. Food was average and expensive. Nice space but poorly decorated.
