I love my whole stay here. Phally is so accommodating and quickly replies to my inquiries. The location is so convenient, every thing I need is just a few blocks away. And it's near Pub Street. I'll stay here again when I visit Siem Reap again.

We were lucky enough to stumble across this gem of a hotel as we walked past, and were able to check in the next morning! Phally ( pronounced Polly) and her wonderful staff makes you feel instantly at home in this great space she's created. She also helped us facilitate any arrangements we needed during our stay. I agree with all the positive comments in the other reviews. Beautiful simple effective design, spotlessly clean, quiet air con, wonderful bathrooms, comfortable bed with crisp sheets, flat screen TV and a safe. And last but not least VERY good food! We ended up eating most of our meals there while watching the world go by in the little lane way, which has galleries and an expat bar, a 'hole in the wall' called Picasso across on the other side. All this for a very reasonable price! ...and best Margueritas in town! We can't wait to come back!

The location was near everything. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants & bars, including a block away from pub street. Pholly & her staff were friendly & very accommodating. They gave great advice on tours to take and sights to see, and the bar made very good drinks.
Lobby was a nice gathering place to just relax. Room was nice! Clean, comfortable & romantic- great for couples. It included a stocked fridge, and slippers. There are only six rooms in the hotel, which makes it very intimate. There's also a roof top terrace.

Stayed in the family room, the room is clean, well equipped with sufficient towels, slippers, water and the location is extremely strategic, you can get almost everything there and pub street is just a few steps away. The service is great too, Pholly the owner dishes out good advice and will assist you to make any arrangement for transportation.

However, the family room is opposite the cafe's kitchen, may get a bit noisy in the morning especially for light sleeper, though that is not much of a problem for us!

Overall great accomodation!

Nice hotel with reasonable price in the heart of Siem Reap. The hotel is well-designed in a small space at Alley west street, with 6 cozy rooms provided with ample of great daylight!

It is so convenient for shopping in town, food-hunting, and experiencing night life ! Going onto the rooftop with beer and snacks to experience the night life from the top. U can see sunrise and sunset with the roofscape as foreground too !

A walking distance to Haven restaurant where they serve good food and helping orphans.
You can find any kind of shops you want in this area.... No breakfast served but no worries, shops are everywhere...rent a bike at 2-4 dollars and explore further, they are plenty of bike shop along the lane behind the hotel entrance...
And we got a free tuk-tuk transfer to the airport !

Despite the noise night sleep from the pub street, the hotel is good enough for a cheap & convenient stay !

Room Tip: go for highest floor rooms for brighter & better view

Stayed from 25-29 August 2013. Phally & Simon (owners) were very helpful - from giving us our room as early as 10am to providing ice pack when I injured my leg. They provide five star service in this hotel. Very clean, friendly & helpful people who work there. Food is excellent. They gave proper advice for our tour & recommended a wonderful tuk-tuk driver. Highly recommend this hotel as it is like staying in your own home. Hotel is very close by to pubs, night market is walking distance, Airport about 20 minutes away.

The Purple Mangosteen in a nutshell: the best stay in over a month in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.

Let's start with the basics: the hotel is spotless (hall, room and bathroom), the room was cozy and full of light, the staff is very friendly and helpful, great location and the owners are simply outstanding (they make you feel like at home).

In addition, Pholly (the owner), who used to be a tourist guide, gave us some spot-on tips to plan our 4 day temple tour and thanks to her we avoided the crowd.

Last but not least, the hotel restaurant is excellent. The first evening we made a "mistake" and we went to one of the restaurants on the main street. As of day 2, and for 4 evenings in a row, we ate at The Purple Mangosteen. Simply the best food we had in over a month spent in southeast Asia.

Definitely recommended!
