Sunday evening 8 friends from touchalife.org met for food and to chat about their experiences, a busy place service a little slow, no nibbles of any kind available to help the waiting for food? To many Mozzies lurking under the table eating away at our legs! just not good enough in an establishment of this standing!

Sometimes you just need to push the boat out and get some high class comfort food.
Tell does just that !!
I had the rib eye and my wife the tenderloin - both medium rare. Both were cooked exactly as needed and were deliciously tender and tasty.
We had the cheapest bottle of red and found it to be soft and mellow - perfect with the steaks.
It might not be the cheapest place to eat but it was well worth the money.
Try it when you get the urge for a decent steak.

My story starts the same as many, had been in Asia for past 3 months eating healthy and loving asian food but my over the past few weeks my body kept telling me it needed a steak. A steak - in Siem Reap -riggght, ain't gonna happen. Lo and behold Trip Advisor says Tell's Steak House is a good option and man were they right on the money. Best meal I have had in the past 3 months for sure. T-Bone as good as back home with an incredible Caesar salad to kick things off. It is not cheap by Siem Reap average standards but by any other measure it sure is. Staff is incredible. Environment is great. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Why is the place for steak in Siem Reap a german steak house?

One guesses that way back when, a German looking for fame and fortune saw the need for a german steakhouse on the road to Angkor Wat and made his play.

It's a cutesy place, and the food is good and not overwhelmingly expensive. The beer punch is probably to be avoided. I liked my schnitzel...

Do they really need to dress Cambodians in German costumes to get the point across, though? Any why just the women?

The Shinitzels and Spetzels are REALLY REALLY good, they are HUGE and you won't go away hungry! I have heard from friends that the T-Bone Steaks are out of this world. I haven't tried them though because every time I go, I am stuck on the Shinitzel !! I don't know where they get their brochens but they are really good too, that come free just before your meal. This is one of my picks every time I am in Siem Reap !
