Mr Thon is one of the nicest Khmers I've ever met. Very friendly, funny and he knows anything about the city and around. He's been a major practical and moral support to me when I had issues with the tourist police. When you come to Siem Reap, you come home to Sidewalk and Mr Thon.

We wanted something close enough to restaurants and the markets but slightly off the bustle and noise. This hotel was just right. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a good little pool to enjoy after a hot day. Walking distance to the Night Market and Pub Street, we felt this was just the right spot. We would stay here again. A good value.

Room Tip: People take off their shoes when entering a building in many parts is Asia. There were lots of flip...

We liked our stay at this hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and clean with a king size bed, perfectly working air-con, wifi and shower. The location was great: very close to delicious restaurants, laundry places that charge $1 per kilo and an excellent spa. While we were there, we really enjoyed the pool. It was a nice size, temperature and was perfectly clean. The breakfast was basic, but fine. The only drawback we noticed was pointed out by a previous reviewer who said: "The hotel staff were... either drinking beers outside all day or consistently asking you what you were doing and where you were going." We thought exactly that. Overall, we had a very good stay!

Got walked to this hotel from another place that took our reservation then didn't have a room. It was the best thing that could have happen. The Sidewalk hotel was a great place to stay. The manager is funny and very helpful guy. The hotel is clean and has a very nice pool which is rare for the price range. Most people are return guests that wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Every evening a friendly group would gather in the front of the hotel and the manager would show up with a big cooler full of iced down beer and offer a free beer to any guest coming or going. All I can say is its a very fun place to stay and well worth the price.

Didn't made any booking for hotel before I arrived in Siem Reap. the driver brought me to this hotel. Good thing despite of fully booked hotels that we checked that day, they have standard room left for me.. they have free wifi, AC and fan hot shower, wifi and breakfast included. Plus they gave some tips how can I enjoy my stay in Siem Reap. Things that I don't like in this hotel? The slippers and shoes were not organized... it looks messy in the front door. When i pay in KHR they won't accept, they preferred $.But overall it was a good place to stay

We tried to stay here for 5 nights, but unfortunately on our first night we were booked out to another hotel as apparently someone had blocked the toilet and they had reinstalled one but it needed to dry... This wasn't too much of a problem as the other hotel was very nice, and the tuk tuk driver that picked us up from the airport for free came to collect us and our backs first thing the next morning.
Our room in Sidewalk was very nice, although it was a twin not the double we had booked, but it was at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool which was lovely.
The next morning we were up at 0400 to go to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise, then spent the day visiting other temples which was very enjoyable. Needless to say we were pretty tired when we got back to the hotel, and we then were told by the manager that we really needed to help him out by moving to another room right at the front of the hotel where we could hear traffic noise, and it also had a public balcony outside the window where people like to sit and drink. Apparently someone had booked a twin room and there wasn't one available.
This room was also reasonably appointed. The swimming pool area was quite nice. If, like us, you wanted to get up early to go to see the temples, they were happy to give you fruit to take away for your breakfast.
The only problem was the fact that in 5 nights we stayed in a total of 2 different hotels and 3 different rooms! Slightly disappointing.
