“A lovely resort”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

My girlfriend and I stayed about a week at the Navutu Dreams resort in Siem Reap in early April and had a very pleasant stay. Their service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating, they even made it a point to remember our names. The food at the restaurant was also very nice.

We asked to change rooms after the first day as we were given a very large room but it didn't have the soak pool we had seen on the website and the next morning the manager had arranged it all for us and greeted us at the poolside restaurant to make sure we were happy.

We also did the 2.5 day detox and were supported very well by a very friendly and knowledgeable yoga instructor and an accupuncture practitioner.

I would have rated Navutu 5 stars, but the one thing that let them down was the spa. It was definitely a 1 star experience for us. They seemed unorganised and weren't professional at all. Unfortunately they seemed to forgot all about the customer experience that the rest of the resort did to such a good standard. We had the timing of massages change in our detox programme and were told one thing but then when we got there found it was at some other time. We were also scheduled for a particular massage as part of our detox programme which we selected the day prior but when we got there were told they wanted to give us another one. The massage ladies also weren't trained very well, they just didnt do the little things right, or didn't know how to. On one day there was no music at all, on the other day they turned it on part way through. The flower bowl under the head rest looked like it wasn't changed for a while. They didn't know how to manage a person's privacy of your private areas at all, my girlfriend wasn't very impressed at all. The lady she had massage her didn't seem very happy at all and seemed to rush through everything.

Fortunately we found Frangipani Spa in town and they were brilliant, an absolute gem. So we cancelled the other bookings at the resort spa and just stuck to the ones we had to go through as part of the detox. We went to the Frangipani Spa after our first dissappointing massage at the resort and then again at the end as you truly do walk away feeling relaxed after that experience, unfortunately I can only say the opposite of the resort's spa.

We highly recommend the Navutu Dreams Resort for your next trip to Siem Reap, just stay away from the spa.

This is a total gem. We wanted to book Amanzara, but it was fully booked. We were so glad we had this as your top second wish. It was a ten minute tuk tuk ride from the markeds and centre, which was really a reallyenjoyable little ride everyday, as we got to see the real life of Siem Riep and Camboians. The hotel has tuk tuk's on stanby so all was very easy.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I needed medication for a rash one day and they helped set up a call with a doctor to get the right cream for it, and a hotel staff picked it up within an hour.

The restaurant was really nice and served both local and western food. The morning glory dish for lunch was so good. The server Charlie was very nice and fun to talk to.

The entire place is tranquile and oasis like, the gardens and plantations are beautifully kept.

A minus was the old umbrellas by the pool that used to be white, but now had a old brown and mold-like color. Not fresh to look up at when everything else was so beautiful. I also wished they would hose down the pool tables and beds as they were full of cocoons dangleing underneath.
Also after having drinks and meals by the pool the staff was very slow to gather it after consumption. It could be there for hours. I think that it must be a culture difference, as we might have not finnished our drinks or meals entirly before they got warm by the sun or we were full. And understandably the staff that comes from poor backgrounds thought we would finish them eventually. I just wished the hotel owner would explain to them that the western world is a bit different, and that they should clear the tables right after it looks like people are done.
We had the same problem in the rooms, they didn't touch an old glass of coke and half drunken beer on the terrace that had been standing all day in the sun until late afternoon the next day, and only when we asked them, they would clear them.

But those are minor problems and nothing that will make the stay much less enjoyable. Just makes the place seem less top notch when it is otherwise so perfect.

The rooms are very large, we had the medium sized rooms called "The Grand Tour". Beautifully layed out, and luxurious feeling bathrooms with the little private garden to look at while showering.
I slept well every night, the beds were comfotable. The airconditioning was easy to use.

There was a roof terrace over each room to enjoy sunrise and sunset. Rooms GT 3 and 4 are the best because of location to the pool and since they were at the end of each row, so you're not sorounded by guests on each side.

A tip before you leave home is to have friends gather clothes for kids and grown ups, soaps, tooth brushes, toothpaste and toys that you can ask the hotel to help give to the many needing people of Cambodia.

Room Tip: GT. 3 and 4 - Medium sized Grand Tour rooms.

Ok, so it's a little bit out of the centre of town...but they make up for that with the provision of your own tuk-tuk driver for your stay. The property itself is gorgeous. The rooms are huge. In fact the bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in. The double headed rain showers are incredible (and we were in a standard room)! The whole place has been stylishly designed, the swimming pools are a delight to swim in. There's a very zen atmosphere to the place. Great breakfasts too. Fabulous relaxing base with which to explore the fantastic Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

Room Tip: Even the standard rooms are huge and lovely.

We stayed for 3 days at Navutu. I would definitely have sayed more days if I could. The place is a dream. 3 great pools. A big garden and pathways that connected each room. On daytime you enjoyed walking throug this pathways looking ay varios plants and camboyan art (there are many sculptures arround the gardens). At night, the landscape chaged thoug the light of fire torchs and decorative lights... The room I was in (it was a standard room) was really big. WIth AC, 2 showers.... realy confortable. Super clean. Internet on all rooms. Safebox, etc. Breakfast, altough its not excuberand, it was good.
The staff is very friendly and warm. One night we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Our best dinner by far! (and for being a hotel restaurant not expensive). The only backside is that is a bit far away from downtown. But you got 1 tuk tuk (moto taxi) per day (12 hours) free!. So, this was not a problem at all.
100% recomended. Thanks Navutu for 3 wonderfull nights!

Room Tip: Room 19 is the last one. Far awar form everything, if you like privacy... its great!

This resort is an absolute must! The service was outstanding, the rooms are exceptional and nothing was too much to ask of the staff who were genuinely friendly. Even the tuk tuk driver was a knowledgable, polite and beautiful man who was willing to meet any of our requests and gratefully accepted our tips, which were not at all expected. I cannot speak highly enough of this resort and will be back.

Situated beyond a dusty bumpy road, looks unassuming when you pull up, but once you enter it's a luxury resort in the middle of fields of grazing cows. The rooms are beautifully spacious and airy and the service is wonderful. Very attentive and accommodating staff. Food is quite good, though westernized and that's not entirely necessary, we did come to Cambodia after all. Spa treatments are not quite the same caliber, but very affordable so you get what you pay for in that respect. Tuk tuk driver was the best ever! Great stay and lovely hotel.

Currently sales account manager, I often travels abroad.
I wanted to stop in this hotel thanks to the kindness and smiling staff
Honestly all the hotels that I took, I must say that this is one of the only one that satisfies me with the service, the staff, the quality of the rooms and food.
Quality at this price I will return every day.
And the best for the end i was impressed by the manager « REASKMEY » who speaks very well in French.
