From the moment of arrival when cooling towels are offered this hotel and its lovely staff make you feel truly at home. The hotel has some quaint old features (original 1929 lift re-stored), old 'switch' light sockets combined with pristine new areas. The hotel corridors positively gleamed. We were fortunate to have a balcony room overlooking the park, a perfect way to unwind in the late evening and watch the world go by.
The staff were first class and genuinely warm and helpful (as we found Cambodians in general).
The swimming pool is enormous and set in lovely gardens.
Spoil yourself and stay!

It is wonderful that you had found the warmth, luxury and tranquility in our hotel, as your “home away from home” on your journey to the temples of Angkor. I hope that it had been an inspiring and enjoyable journey for you.

We stayed at Raffles for three nights when visiting Siem Reap, and were pleased that we stayed there. The hotel has traditional colonial charm and a relaxing feel. Service is generally very good. The food was excellent, with a stupendous breakfast, and lovely Cambodian food that we ate on one night, albeit at international prices. Our room overlooking the pool was spacious, but the bathroom was small by modern standards and because the windows were not able to be opened, it was prone to steaming up the whole room when having a hot bath. The hotel pool is large and a beautiful haven after sightseeing, with excellent pool-side service including complimentary fruits in sticks and sunglass cleaning. Our only annoyance was when we checked in. Having arrived late due to lost baggage on our flight in, we wanted to check in quickly and get to the restaurant before closure. However the receptionist was oblivious to our wish to get freshened up and fed, and was determined to go through a routine that included asking for my business card; something that could have waited. She also confused matters by offering an room-upgrade for more than $100 extra per night, and when we declined this, said that we could have the upgrade for free with her compliments. We were shown to a State Room that turned out to have a welcome letter addressed personally to us, which indicated that the hotel had upgraded us before our receptionist became involved. All this was a bit irksome, particularly after having lost our luggage and with little time to change and make it to the restaurant.
All in all, though, Raffles is a lovely hotel which we would highly recommend to travellers looking for old-world charm and quality.

Room Tip: If you have time on arrival, it would be worth asking to see more than one room to establish which h...

We are only sorry that we were not staying longer than 2 nights! The hotel is an oasis of calm and tranquility compared to the dust and bustle of Siem Reap.

Cold towels and a welcome drink was perfect after our international travels, and we were soon whisked to our room along a corridor smelling of fragrant lemon grass from the oil burners. We had pool facing rooms on the 1st floor and rooms were spacious and very comfortable. I'm not sure how they managed it, but we seemed to be a mosquito-free-zone in the hotel!

We had a very full schedule in Siem Reap so little time to really enjoy the pool and spa, or indeed the breakfast! The hotel is used to providing packed breakfasts for travellers setting off to see Angkor Watt at sunrise! Our rucksacks had plenty of cakes and pastries, yogurt and fruit, but the flasks were not especially efficient at keeping tea and coffee warm c. 4 hours later! Wasn't the end of the world because our experience of eating breakfast in the sunshine on the bank of the temple moat more than made up for cool coffee!

The staff were all extremely professional but at the same time, friendly and personable. Whenever we returned from our travels, it felt like coming 'home'!

Wished Raffles had hotels in Vietnam as well! We'd highly recommend this hotel and the others in their chain we have stayed at.

Room Tip: We loved being 1st Floor Pool-view.

This hotel makes Siem Reap an even more fabulous experience. Great service, beautiful property, lovely people. I highly recommend this spot. The location is great and the property is classic old world French. It stands up to the best luxury resorts in Asia. The spa was simple but the services were good. Buffets were lovely. After a long and amazing day hiking the temples of the Angkor area, this hotel is the perfect respite.

Thank you very much for the short but definitely wide-ranging review of the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor. We stayed 3 nights here & loved it. Upon arrival at the airport our booked transport was waiting for us, with some cold water & swiftly brought us to the hotel. Quick check in was appreciated as we were tired arriving late. Our Landmark room had nice balcony with pool view & easily accomodated the extra bed for our daughter. We were near the end of the corridor & had a bit of roadside noice as a result but nothing to keep us awake or wake us up. The pool is huge, in quiet tropical garden and with pool bar. The staff dropped by with pineapple ice lollies as a treat.
Breakfast is fantastic and can be taken both inside or on the terrace overlooking the pool & garden. We also enjoyed one tasty lunch on the terrace one day & a dinner. We were a bit disappointed to see limited local cuisine options on the dinner menu but the ones we did have were amazing in taste. We had before & after dinner drinks all nights which came with some nice nibbles.
All in all a very understated atmosphere. Mostly older couples or small travel groups though: not (m)any children in sight. In all a great place to stay, as expected really in a hotel with this name.

My husband and I just spent seven days at this hotel. The staff is one of the most gracious and attentive I've seen. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was lovely, with a balcony overlooking an enormous pool. In the lobby, there is a very large area for sitting and relaxing where you can get a meal, have a drink, or just decompress after a day of visiting the breathtaking temples. We had dinner at two different restaurants while we were there, but, in my opinion, the food was best at Raffle's two restaurants. In seven days time, we left with absolutely no complaints about this grand hotel.
All taken into consideration, the staff is what made this hotel so exceptional. We left feeling like we were leaving friends.
