“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

The staff are warm and friendly! The room is spacious and the lighting a bit darker for work but really great for R&R. Food has a good spread. I would not hesitate to recommend the place! Great hotel!

Hotel was nice, staff were amazing. Pool linens really need to be replaced as do the ones in the room. Saying so room and grounds were very nice. Don't recommend the dinner and a show. Had some issues with bugs on the food.

We prefer more contemporary places but this was fine as a touring base. Location was fine and amenities were satisfactory. Not sure one would choose this if coming again, but as noted it was alright for our needs

It was a pleasure to have you here with us and I am glad that you appreciated our storied hotel despite your preference of more contemporary ambiance and facilities.
Above all, I hope that you had a wonderful and inspiring journey to the mystical temples of Angkor.
Thank you very much.

Incredible quality of service from arrival upon hotel where we were greeted with drinks and a cold towel. We were allowed to sit and enjoy our drinks while they checked us in. Their concierge was also of incredible help as we booked the 5am sunrise Angkor Wat, and they provided a wakeup call as well as free tea and coffee delivered to our door on their suggestion.

The water, however, was non-potable, which is understandable given how the country has recently suffered much. It was just weird to bathe in water that wasn't clear. Also, the electricity would go off intermittently here and there.

Breakfast was spectacular. Fresh crepes and fresh omelets or noodles could be made for you on the spot with a fantastic selection of buffet items for both asian and english palettes alike.

Room Tip: Choose the pool view room. The garden view isn't as great.

I am delighted to receive your wonderful compliments for your incredible stay in our historic hotel. Rest assured that your inspiring words will be shared with the rest of my team.
As part of our safety measures, our hotel conducts monthly water testing through the Laboratoires Pasteur to make sure that the water running in the whole hotel is safe. However, the condition of the water may not be on a par with the developed countries and, in order not to compromise the health of our guests, we provide complimentary water bottles as part of our initiative to offer a safer and more comfortable stay for them.
Thank you very much once again. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Siem Reap.

Raffels is almost always if not the best, at the top of the list of any locale in Asia and Raffels Grand d'Angkor is no exception. That being said, one day or two max is certainly enough around here. The Temple is not to be missed and most likely why you've traveled there anyhow, but go with someone very special and very fun, or you'll be looking for a change of scenery in a couple of days.

The charming 1920's building has a beautiful room looking over the pool and frangipani trees for high tea. We had one Western and one Khmer afternoon tea, accompanied by tea in silver teapots. While it felt a little pricey, it was worth it for the experience.

The level of service is this hotel is extraordinary. If you use you teaspoon to eat dessert another will appear instantly. The food is very good especially the buffet breakfast which is the best I have seen in a big hotel. And this hotel is not so big which is part of its charm. The only downside is that once you have seen Angor What and a few other temples there is not so much else tp do. Three nights would be enough. Off season it costs around $300 a night…good value for this level of luxury.

Room Tip: Ground floor with view of huge pool
