I have always wanted to stay in a ' Raffles ' hotel since I was little and my parents stayed with us in the Raffles Singapore . All I remember was ' wow '.
So we booked at Siem Reap. Don't get me wrong, the Hotel inside is truly beautiful and the food and service excellent but I was a little disappointed in the bedrooms. noisy air-conditioning and dated rooms without the style that I expected.
It was certainly in a good location though and the biggest pool that seemed a little warm because it wasn't very deep and got heated quite quickly with the heat of the sun.
The staff were only too willing to help with anything. There was an elevator that was straight out of the 1920's, a little wire cage that only held about 4 people. In fact that's what you felt about the place, that you were in a 1920's movie of Agatha Christie.
Not sure about value for money though.
