It is an amazing hotel. Beautiful rooms, wonderful service, great location.
The pool is amazing, the delicious breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, great selection of fruits and juices, and even the marvelous Cambodian breakfast.

Room Tip: The rooms by the river have a great view

having arrived from Bangkok on what one could possibly discribe as 'chitty chitty bang bang airways' this hotel was an oasis of tranquility. Superb and evocative of bygone times. Rooms were such a pleasant change from 'chain' 4 Star hotels. Service wonderful, food great and cleanliness faultless. Above all the people who work here make the place so special. When in town try to go to the foreign correspondents club for a feel of the place. Can't wait to return to the area. The people of Cambodia are some of the most kind and gentle one will ever meet. What a wonderful country with a troubled past.

We stayed for 3 nights and everything about this hotel was excellent. Great room, lovely pool, and superb service. The food was also excellent. Not cheap, but worth it.

My first visit to Siem Reap was year's ago and there was one persistent memory which lingered, that of a charming, restful little hotel. Back then it was called Pansea. Years after I'm delighted to see that while the restaurant and the Spa are far more modern now, La Residence D'Angkor still outshines every hotel is Siem Reap in its charming simplicity and unpretentious Indochine ambience. Still the best resort in the area!

First time in Siem Reap, and the hotel was just perfect in every aspect. Excellent location (right in the middle of the town, next to the river), beautifully appointed rooms (you should choose one with a swimming pool 'view' as the are quieter than the one on the street side), and a wonderful service. Breakfast was extremely pleasant when taken in the outside garden, and the lounge next to the swimming pool very charming in the evening whith all the candles around.
Extreme Orient runs great properties (I have stayed with them in Luang Prabang and Samui in Thailand) and have never been disapointed.

This beautiful wooden hotel is without a doubt the most charming in Siem Reap. The rooms are lovely especially over the pool. The bathrooms could be better appointed and the surface of the sinks and the bathtub give a bit of a dodgy impression. The long rectangular pool is ideal for swimming but a little short on lounging space and sunbathing is limited.
The breakfast buffet is outstanding and the bar is very pleasant with wonderful cocktails. The Hotel sponsors a remarkable local charity for orphaned children and offers the opportunity to get involved.

Room Tip: The Hotel is centrally located so get a room over the pool for more quiet.

Sublime, tranquil and simply top service. Breakfast is a feast with a wide variety of local and western food with top notch service. It was a pleasure having breakfast. The rooms are very spacious, impeccably cleaned, with a beautiful colonial style. Each night we had a little gift from room service - little bronze budha, peppercorns, fruit, dessert, newpaper.

River facing rooms are not ideal as they face a busy road and you can hear the traffic through the balcony door. Better to ask for a room facing the pool or gardens. On one occasion, we left our safe open with money and valuables in it. When we came back, we had a note from security to that effect and that they had locked for us. Nothing was taken.

The gardens are lush and well maitained and the pool area very relaxing. A haven from the bustle of Siem Reap.

We had a divine stay.

Room Tip: Be sure to choose a pool or garden facing room - not those on the riverfront.
