“Beautiful Khmer Style”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2012

A lovely Khmer style hotel managed by Orient Express. if you do not stay here, at least go for dinner when they have the traditional dance show. The food is delicious and the show authentic. Big rooms, very clean and comfortable. Lush gardens and tropical plants. Very friendly and service oriented employees.

Room Tip: Suites are very large and modern even in this traditional hotel

What a gem! We are so happy that we followed the advice of our experienced travel agent who recommended we stay at this hotel. This was our first visit to Indochina and we trusted her 100% with all our reservation and are not disappointed this far. The rooms of the hotel are a wonderful place to come back to at the end of a hot day at the temples of Angkor Wat. Spacious and with good air conditioning. Large bathtub with shower over the bath. This is the only thing we would have changed if it was our choice - a separate shower but we were assured when we mentioned it to the general manager on the last day that they have rooms with separate shower and was offered to be moved. As it was our last day we decided to just stay where we were. Food was good, even though a little more expensive than in town, it is worth the extra money as the service is 5 star excellent. The employees seem to be very happy and it shows in the way in which they communicate with the guests. We love the people of Cambodia and will come back

Room Tip: Pools side rooms have lovely view

The hotel provided an extremely comfortable and pleasurable stay during our first visit to Cambodia in Sept 2012. The attentiveness of staff and attention to detail ( cool towels on your return from excursions, conveniently located umbrellas) was outstanding. The layout of the hotel with its foliage blended well with the countryside and afforded necessary privacy. The rooms were large, spotless and tastefully decorated. Staff was extremely welcoming, obliging and eager to help.
We recommend La Residence without hesitation.

This is a wonderful hotel for families and couples. Though we traveled with our kids, we talked to some of the honeymoon couples at the hotel and they assured us that our children did not bother them - a big change from some other properties we visited on our trip to Asia. The pool is VERY big, so there is enough space for kids to play without disturbing the other guests. There is also a private pool at the spa for those who treasure total privacy. We had two interconnecting rooms, but the environment is safe, so our kids really could have been down the hall with no problems. The hotel is centrally located with tuk tuks at the entrance to take you to the temples and other sites. It is also within easy walking distance from the night market. The rooms are spacious - ours had 2 twin beds in one and a very big king size bed in the other. Bathtubs are very big - our kids used it as an extension to the swimming pool. The staff are very friendly and took time to get to know us and our children. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for making us feel welcome all the time

Room Tip: the interconnecting rooms on the river side were perfect for our needs

We made our reservations based on what we read on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. The staff were just amazing - they remembered our names and went out of their way to ensure that our requests were met. The breakfast has a large variety of items. Lunch was served in the smaller restaurant near the pool and we were informed that the week after our stay the menus here were changed to include more deli items and that it would be open all day long. I think this will be tremendous as we often came back mid afternoon and had to order from the pool menu as the restaurant was already closed. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Every night at turndown we got a small local treat - it was interesting to discover the local sweet this way. We can honestly recommend this lovely property. Dont forget to visit the gorgeous spa!

This hotel made for an amazing stay in Siem Reap. The staff were brilliant with every attention to detail, day and night (& honest when we left many valuables lying around our room from time to time). The hotel rooms were spacious, well appointed, and luxurious. The restaurant staff remembered your daily breakfast preferences after day 1 and everyone seemed to know our name by day 2. Nice touches. The pool gym and day spa were all great too. Only downside was daily power blackouts at about 10pm, there were automatically restored within seconds, but annoying nonetheless. On a positive, on our departure today we got late checkout for free and the room was made up completely for us in the morning for us to enjoy throughout our final day.

Friendly & helpful staff, right at the heart of the city (walking distance to the nite market), good selection of breakfast buffet & decent tour package... The hotel room may need some update, apart from it, I am very satisfied!!!
