“Just as if it were our secondary residence in Cambodia!”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

My husband and daughter and I traveled through Indochina for 3 weeks and Cambodia was a highlight of that journey. La Residence d'Angkor had a lot to do with that enjoyment. From the moment you arrive, you know you are in for a treat! We had two different rooms and both amazing! Each was a suite in that it had a balcony, sitting area and huge bathroom. Each were gorgeously appointed with the décor being Asian ( understated and elegant) with a zen quality. We moved right in!! Each morning at 9:00 am you could hear the instrument calling for the monks to come for the hotel's donated food for the poor of Seim Reap. The flowers (made from flower pedals) were everywhere and pedals in the fountains. The pool is great here, so if you are needing a break from daily touring, this is the pool to enjoy laps and lunch by the pool. The hotel has a magnificent spa facility. They have bicycles available for guests. Breakfast is fantastic!! Eat by the fish pond if weather allows.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the river as it is very noisy. We booked riverside thinking it was the nice...

What can I say, crossing a koi pond on a bridge of teak to get into the lobby of a super natural/elegant hotel is always a good start for me.
The place was just dazzling, in a completely wood, water and stone kind of way. Most of the common areas were open air, no walls...the restaurant, the bar, the lobby, the spa...and the rooms, super modern, yet with the warm naturally created decor that the south asians do so well.
Great food. Excellent service, and all of the country's most important and gorgeous ancient temples within a very doable drive.

We have just come back from staying at La Residence for three nights whilst visiting Siem Reap. A wonderful quiet hotel with great food and very friendly and helpful staff ( the GM, Carla, is very friendly and welcoming). We had two poolside rooms on the second floor which were beautiful and very comfortable with great big baths. The pool is lovely as are the hotel bar and the two restaurants. It was my son's birthday and they organised a wonderful cake for him. Great breakfast and just a general super good vibe surrounds the place. We highly recommend it.

We spent a long weekend in Siem Reap at the Residence d'Angkor, a gorgeous hotel that's a quick tuk-tuk ride to the city's center full of restaurants, bars, and markets. The staff was welcoming, kind, and helpful, setting us up with bikes, a temple tour guide, and tuk-tuk drivers when needed. The pool was lovely and the bar was beautiful, though drinks at both were a bit expensive. We chose a river view room, which, come to find out, is also street-side (a room with the pool view would have been quieter and more beautiful as the river is pretty polluted). Overall, a lovely stay, would strongly recommend this hotel for your trip to Siem Reap.

Room Tip: River view rooms are also street-side (a room with the pool view is probably quieter and more beauti...

We stayed here in august 2013. We were a family travelling with a 2.5yr old, and grandparent. We opted for the pool view rooms, which were lovely, but given they were on the ground floor the view was obstucted by plants as such i would not advise the extra expense.

The hotel is beautiful, with the centrAl point of the pool acting as the focal area when not on excursions. Our son loved the steps and small water gullies for his cars.
The food was very good, with the breakfasts offering a wide selection and excellent congee and eggy bread.
We had the khymer supper one evening and were entertained by dancers. The hotel provided a babysitter.

We did a number of tours and found them to be very accommodating with our toddler.
We did have a number of issues such as our breakfast bags not been prepared. But the manager made up for this with a free lunch.

We ate at two restaurant recommendations and thought both were excellent, some of the best food we have had in Asia.

My husband and i did the cookery class, but were disappointed, as rather than actually cooking it was a demonstration, and given my husband is a very keen chef we were highly disappointed, particularly given the cost.

Evenings were spent playing pick up sticks in the balcony bar, sipping cocktails and eating delicious canapés.

Overall an excellent hotel, centrally located with very high service.

Room Tip: Opt for second floor pool view not ground floor as no view

We stayed for two nights, but it felt longer because we were welcomed early on the arrival day and invited to stay late by the pool on checkout. We were welcomed by Carla, the GM, who was completely charming and must be one of the best hotel managers anywhere. The hotel is beautiful, not over the top, and the location in the bustling city makes the tranquility of the pool and rooms event more remarkable. Really a perfect place to stay.

We stayed for six nights 16-22 December 2013, choosing this hotel because we thought it would offer easy access to temples and a relaxing place to be for some relaxation. Very pleased with out choice, this hotel is understated but really very very good. The setting is great, quiet and leafy but very convenient for a walk into town or trips to the temples. Great spa and treatments. Great pool. Very good restaurants (indoor and out) and bar. Comfortable room, clean, efficient housekeeping, nice touches. But the one thing that made our stay memorable was the staff - friendly, helpful, happy to chat and be asked questions, warm and welcoming. We had some difficulty at first when trying to organise our guide and trips, but that was down to us speaking English to someone whose first language is not English, so we soldiered on and very happily reached a point where what we were asking for was then arranged for us. The hotel found us a fantastic guide, who took us to the temples on three separate days and found quiet places for us to visit despite the hundreds/thousands of people visiting the temples every day. Sitting atop a temple watching the dawn rise (with not a single other person in sight) will stay with us as one of the special moments of our lives, thank you Vy for that. All the staff were happy and proud to be working at La Residence and because of this the hotel has a very warm and welcoming ambience.
