“Wonderful classic colonial feel and terrific staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2011

we had four lovely nights here. The l'Explorateur bar was great place to chill out after a day of golf or tepee visits. The pool is gorgeous and under utilized. l'Escale restaurant served our needs nicely, especially the wonderful breakfast buffet. Only letdown was the French restaurant. Lovely rooms, if a bit dated, very clean, great ambiance. Would definitely stay here again. Asian beds the only drawback. A bit hard on us old folk.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights mid September 2011. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome and the staff were very attentive to our wants whether it was during breakfasts, lunch or dinner or in assisting in organising a tour of the wats. We had a very comfortable, air conditioned, clean room at a very reasonable rate overlooking the smimming pool. A nice touch was the small gifts we received each day after the morning clean. The buffet breakfasts were great (extensive range of foods and drinks) as was the food (both Asian and Western) in the restaurant. The location is great being within walking distance of the market and Pub Street (the area for tourists in particular where there are many restaurants and bars) and a good base from which to visit all the temples near Siem Reap.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony over the swinning pool is very nice.

We stayed, sadly just one night at this hotel but the ambiance was just perfect. The pictures do not do it justice because the central swimming pool surrounded by exotic trees resembles an oasis. The staff were quiet and very respectful. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered during our tour of the far east. It was my birthday and the staff presented me with a birthday cake, a card signed by them all and sang Happy Birthday - a magical memory !

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the pool - the best view.

Dear lacortane,

Thank you very much for having made the effort to write a review; feedback, both positive and negative, lets us know if we are on the right track or not.

I am happy to read that you obviously had a good, if short, stay with us. I am quite proud of our breakfast buffet and am glad that you agree. I am even more proud of my colleagues without whom I could not run the hotel; and will share your favorable comments with them.

We do hope to welcome you again for a longer stay.

Best regards,

We stayed at the Victoria Angkor for three nights during the September rainy season, though we saw very little rain. The hotel looks like a colonial building and has a very calm atmosphere. Our comfortable, air conditioned room overlooked the large swimming pool. Breakfast consisted of a large buffet with Asian and western options. There was freshly squeezed orange juice and even champagne.

The hotel is an easy walk into the centre of Siem Reap and its many restaurants and bars. We found this an ideal base for exploring Angkor Wat and all the other temples around Siem Reap.

This was our first hotel on a three week tour of Cambodia and Vietnam. It was delightful place to stay with excellent staff and a very good restaurant. It was also within reasonable walking distance of the centre if you wanted to venture out in the evening. Would definately stay here again

Stayed here Sept 6-9 and wish I could have stayed longer. They made us feel very special from the time they picked us up at the airport in a vintage car to the time we left. Staff greeted us at the lobby, had us sit comfortably on a sofa, handed us cool towels & refreshing drinks. I didn't have to go to the reception desk coz she processed the check-in for us. She also accompanied us to our room. Great first impression indeed.

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff, our room, the breakfast that was included, the pool, the ambience, I can go on and on. Everytime we called the front desk for anything the response was within minutes.

I was concerned about mosquitoes and staff admitted that they try to control them. My daughter & I didn't get a single mosquito bite so whatever they are doing is working.

I booked directly on-line at the hotel's website by e-mail. Apparently we were there during low season so we paid less than 50% of what it would normally cost. Massages were 20% off. It was also towards the end of our 2 week southeast asian vacation so we needed to have our clothes washed. They charged $22 for everything we can fit in one luandry bag. This place would still have been good value even at regular prices. Stay here, you won't go wrong.
