“Good choice and friendly staff”

I stayed for 3 nights at the end of four weeks touring Indochina. This is a beautifully created building decorated in Khmer style facing the Royal Gardens. It is much newer than it appears and has been very tastefully designed with a wonderfully landscaped outdoor swimming pool area. Common parts are open plan and quite dark but the bedrooms are well sized with balconies and possess all mod cons. Bathrooms are well equipped. There are 2 good restaurants - Le Bistro de Siem Reap (very highly regarded contemporary French) and L'Escale which serves local and international dishes, and a very agreeable bar (indoor and outdoor) in Bar L'Explorateur with daily 2 for the price of 1 offers. Free use of the internet in their business centre. I have stayed at 4 of the 6 hotels in the Victoria and found them all to be a delight.

This Hotel in Siem Reap is actually quite new, but is designed with a colonial theme.

The hotel grounds are very nice and has a good feel to it. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous! And you can have you breakfast here in the very beautiful inner pool garden oasis.

The rooms are nice and convient again designed with a colonial/asian touch.

The bar is a great place to hang out and the hotel has a french restaurant which is not half bad (not excellent either)...

I enjoyed my stay here and thought it to be very good value! Over half the price of the Raffles... (which is a more authentic colonial hotel - see other review) but if you dont want to spend that kind of money the victoria is a very good deal indeed and a perfect camp to explore the temples from.

I wouldnt mind recommending this place to another, but I would probably explore new options next time in Siem Reap myself because of the many good options in Siem Reap.

We are not used to staying in REALLY nice places, so I was kind of blown away. Everything was taken care of promptly and neatly for us, including unexpected personalized touches like small gifts of trinkets each day and complementary water bottles with each room cleaning. The staff was beyond courteous, the location is within reasonable walking distance of most places, and the building itself is gorgeous. When we made our reservation, I was mainly interested that we have a reliably comfortable place to come back to after our long days of touring temples in the heat, and that expectation was met and exceeded.

We did not try the spa, except to shower there between check-out and our evening flight out. The hotel restaurants were fine, but we mainly went to Pub Street for variety. The breakfast buffet offers an impressive variety of options, enough to accommodate my specialized dietary requirements (low carb) without going hungry.

The only thing I can remember being displeased by was that on the day we slept in and went to breakfast shortly before it closed (10:30), there were some insects swarming around the fruit plate. But given how well everything else was run, I chalked that up to the unavoidable difficulty of leaving food out that long in that climate.

We have stayed at the Victoria in SaPa, took their private sleeping car on the train from Hanoi, were delighted and are also delighted with this hotel in Siem Reap. The buffet breakfast is good, the service is excellent, the rooms comfortable and the location fine. The spa is reasonable and the treatments are great!

This hotel was absolutely stunning. While it is a newer hotel, it was designed to have the look and feel of one that has been there forever (complete with beautiful antique elevators). I feel like most hotels miss the mark when they try to make a new hotel look old, but they have hit the nail on the head with this one. The pool is also absolutely amazing, as are the ponds complete with aligators! To top it all off, the staff was incredibly friendly and more than happy to help with any of our needs.

we had four lovely nights here. The l'Explorateur bar was great place to chill out after a day of golf or tepee visits. The pool is gorgeous and under utilized. l'Escale restaurant served our needs nicely, especially the wonderful breakfast buffet. Only letdown was the French restaurant. Lovely rooms, if a bit dated, very clean, great ambiance. Would definitely stay here again. Asian beds the only drawback. A bit hard on us old folk.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights mid September 2011. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome and the staff were very attentive to our wants whether it was during breakfasts, lunch or dinner or in assisting in organising a tour of the wats. We had a very comfortable, air conditioned, clean room at a very reasonable rate overlooking the smimming pool. A nice touch was the small gifts we received each day after the morning clean. The buffet breakfasts were great (extensive range of foods and drinks) as was the food (both Asian and Western) in the restaurant. The location is great being within walking distance of the market and Pub Street (the area for tourists in particular where there are many restaurants and bars) and a good base from which to visit all the temples near Siem Reap.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony over the swinning pool is very nice.
