After several days of travelling around Phnom Penh and then a 7 hour bus trip to Siem Reap, arriving here did feel like paradise. Actually, we called it Elysium because we'd both watched the film on the way over, and everything at Angkor Village seemed so perfect. The setting is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, the service attentive and friendly, breakfast delicious, and the complimentary fruit platter left us eternally pining for these south east asian delicacies. A great place to relax.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Angkor Village Resort and we really enjoyed our time there. Great ambiance, lovely food, wonderful to swim all along the pool after visiting the temples. All our requests were handled with great care and attention and we received excellent help when it came to changing our tickets and shortening our stay in Siam Reap due to the strike in Bangkok. We would definitely recommend Angkor Village Resort and stay here again.

We stayed here for 5 nights with a 9-month old and 4-year old and were made to feel very welcome. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautiful and the food (although not that child friendly menu) was delicious. We hired a fabulous driver too via the hotel for our temple trips. We would definitely stay here again and again!

Great pool and very welcome after a hot day at the temples, and the leafy cool garden was welcome. The room was a good size and well appointed. The bar was great. The restaurant was a little disappointing.

Firstly, let me share that I stayed here both as a solo traveller and as a facilitator of a largish group of 18. The property is beautiful- an oasis of green with little squirrels, red dragonflies, a delightful spirit house, lovely public areas and of course 'that pool'-perhaps the most naturally beautiful man made 200 mtre pool I have ever played in within a property. Breakfast is wonderful (I'm dreaming about those banana pancakes)and the bar convivial. The staff are attentive and try very, very hard to please particularly the young, all female, night reception staff who welcomed us. The rooms are nicely designed, there is a large bath (yesssss!) and we all had a view of the pool. Now, I totally understand that Cambodia is a growing entity when it comes to tourism and a few rough edges don't really matter much right now, but I would like to make the following suggestions: 1. "Do Not Disturb" on the room means just that. 2.We caught the housekeeping staff watching TV and eating in two of our rooms. They werent cleaning. They had completed that. Plus the 'do not disturb' sign was on the door. They were very shocked that we had caught them but alas other of our group also caught them doing the same thing on another day. Not great. 3.For conference room, we asked for certain set ups- airconditioning on, chairs a certain way- and this was rarely actioned. So we ended up doing this ourselves ahead of time...and whilst this isnt a big deal, when you are rushed for time, it can be annoying having to do this over and over. 4. Love the fact that there is a cool room for the internet but hate that if you do use their computers all had loads of history of folks watching porn on them. I'm absolutely not a prude but it's a public area for goodness sake yet lots of (all in Khymer or Thai) porn popping up on screen. We removed the history ourselves one day but there it was again the next. Hoping someone in management can just wipe the history every day early before folks use the computer? So,will I return? Yes I would! It is a totally delightful place that with a few fixes will be even better value. It is a perfectly situated and peaceful place to stay in an increasingly busy city.

Room Tip: One by the pool...and I preferred one on ground level with patio because you could just walk directl...

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights whilst visiting the temples.
The room was excellent and the hotel was attentive to our needs.
It did seem to be very calm when outside was all the noise of a town so a little oasis.
The only minor point was there was nowhere to sit in the sun after our long day touring. There is an excellent pool but by about 3.30 it was obviously still very warm but the sun had gone form the seating area.
The whole place was very clean and tidy and well cared for

Room Tip: The rooms all seemed to be very good but I suppose away from the swimming pool would be an advantage...
