We stayed for 6 delightful days, and we want to repeat! Fantastic experience: friendly, warm, quiet and beautiful gardens, the rooms are comfortable and really stunning with the beautiful artwork and design; the staff - so special! The food was marvelous; it was like being in our home. My mind still in Maison Polanka! I highly recommend this exceptional place to experience true delight and relaxing holidays.

A month ago we came together as a family at Maison Polanka. 3 generations, arriving from Melbourne, Tunbridge Wells and London for 6 magical days when everything seemed to come together to perfection.
We were immediately bewitched.......as though a stage had been prepared just for us. The lush garden enclosing the pool, living areas and bedrooms, all the organisation and staff support were already in place and our arrival seemed to trigger the pulse which brought everything to life at our own rhythm and pace for those few special days. We were pampered and looked after and thoroughly spoiled by all the elements of the surroundings and every single one of the helpers. The team, led by Laurence and Sokharat and with Marya's asistance dealt with everything with endless embelishment and fine touches and provided a glorious introduction to the flavours and textures of Khmer food.
I think it must have been a dream.........

After graduating from high school in 2012, my mother took my two friends and I to Siem Reap. We stayed at Maison Polanka. We had our own house and it was very private, which was great! During the days we went out to visit the beautiful but chaotic Ankor Wat, and it was the perfect place to come home to. We came home to the beautiful Maison Polanka that is isolated from the noise and disorder of Siem Reap, and rested while listening to sound of the birds. We then took a swim at night and relaxed with our cool drinks poolside. It was a great place to stay and is full of character. It is like time traveling back to old Asia in the midst of a urbanizing Siem Reap.

Overall it is a nice residential compound turned hotel/B&B spot but at $300 per night in Cambodia we were expecting services and amenities of a luxury boutique hotel and this was more on the B&B side. Example as a gift when we paid the bill we received a card and a map of Siem Reap. Really?

We paid about $250/night at the Satri House (a relais and chateaux property) in Luang Prabang and that was quite the experience.

"There are many accommodation providers in Siem Reap and so it is very important that guests research and select an accommodation that best suits their individual needs and expectations. They should also book ahead especially when there is a big event in town (e.g the annual Angkor half-marathon).
The guest original hotel of choice is not like our hotel and not surprisingly , as it was a last minute option, we did not match this guest requirements in terms of pricing.

Maison Polanka website shows how special the space, rooms, service and level of cultural expectation is. We welcome all guests that would expect such an experience.
Our hotel is exclusive and that relates to the unique history of the property, the culture it embodies and its secure and relaxed setting. For these reasons, we insist on a minimum of a two to three nights stay.

Our hotel caters for sunbathing, walks in the garden, spa therapies, reading, spiritual activities, gardening and enjoying original khmer recipes handed down from the owner’s family.

Our rooms are set in 2 large traditional wooden houses nestled amidst 6000 sqm of lush gardens. The bedrooms are decorated with original pieces of art and all have a unique combination of Khmer tradition and Khmer modernity. All the modern comfort has been installed to match with the old wooden structure to make one’s stay as comfortable as in a Relais et Chateaux.

As for staff and service, 17 dedicated Cambodian people leaded by a 20 years experience foreign general manager care for a maximum of 10 guests-there is no way we could be commented on the care we give to our guests.

These guests had stayed in the Khmer House , 130 sqm of suite and opens space living room, enjoying privacy and views of the garden, from the pool to the orchard and the pond.

There was obviously a complete miss match between the people and our product. We will make sure that such confusion will not happen in the future and all welcoming all guests who are looking forward to a complete Cambodian experience awakening the 4 senses.”

This October, my two girlfriends and I spent two days at Maison Polanka. The serenity of this beautiful establishment manages to creep into every cell of one's body, and we felt nurtured and soothed by just BEING there! Everything at Maison Polanka is quite exquisite and luxurious, yet at the same time, down to earth and homely - never flashy or pretentious. We really felt "at home" there.

Strolling through the estate's grounds with its lush tropical vegetation, is like walking through an enchanted garden. The rooms are magnificent too. We chose to stay in the Khmer House - a traditional wooden home taken right out of a Cambodian village, yet fitted out with all the mod-cons one could ever need. The shower was the best I have ever had! The other rooms in the main house are all named after their primary colour in which they have been decorated: each one unique and with its own style. Our favourite was the "Green Room." Will definitely have to return to experience that one!

Dining at Maison Polanka is an elegant and gracious affair. The food is a beautiful marriage of fine Western cuisine with traditional Cambodian flavours. Fresh herbs and vegetables - picked straight from Polanka's garden, are used in abundance. We loved Polanka's take on the traditional Khmer dish, "Amok." Absolutely every dish was fresh and created with care and love. The chef was so willing to cater to our needs, and created special menus for our vegetarian friend. Portions are extremely generous, so be sure not to over-indulge on the first course! Leave room and be prepared to be transported to another world when you try the chocolate mousse!

Service was impeccable. Everybody was so kind, helpful and passionate about the service they provide, and it was obvious to see that the staff enjoy their working environment. Again, we felt so at home and welcomed in their presence.

If you appreciate beauty, grace and peace, you will fall in love with Maison Polanka. After a stay there, we felt healed and rejuvenated - this place truly feeds the soul.

Maison Polanka is a wonderful place in Siem Reap. It is owned and run by Nathalie who has a great passion for the country, art, style, food and life! My husband and I travelled to Siem Reap with our 3 children aged 5, 3 and 16 months and nanny - from the moment we were collected at the airport and driven to Maison Polanka we were welcomed into its relaxing, beautiful environment where nothing is a problem, the service is immpecable and the attention to detail is out of this world. We were greeted with the most delicious spring rolls and the children were spolit with beautiful sandwiches and fresh juices. Nathalie had helped us prepare an itinerary as we wanted to see the temples but also had children so were mindful that we wanted do other activities. Our rooms were elegantly decorated and reflective of both the culture and art of Cambodia and Nathalie's own innate sense of style. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever had with a choice of both hard and soft pillows. There is a choice of air-con and fans with beautiful dark wooden shutters that are closed over the windows at night time. There are also gorgeous old vintage french bikes for the guests to use to cycle along the river or to the markets. We spen the most wonderful 4 days touring around the temples with our amazing guide Yut (he is simply the best and we highly recommend him and all arranged by Nathalie), swimming in the pool, taking Tuk Tuk rides, exploring hidden art galleries and markets, taking boat rides to water villages, eating amazing food at the Maison and drinking delicious wine. The children had a fabulous time and even our 16 month old could be included in our activites. On other days, we had no hesitation whatsoever in leaving our children in the caring and wonderful hands of Nathalie and her amazing staff. There is even a fabulous play house called Jungle Junction were the children played for a whole afternoon and another time Nathalie organised for the children to make their own clay bowls at a traditional ceramic studio. We spent many hours sitting and talking with Nathalie over a glass of wine and it was wonderful to obtain a real sense of Cambodia, it's history, the people and it's future. You would not have this insight when staying in hotel - it was a truly memorable stay and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but our favourite was the Green Room and the Yellow Room for the childre...
