“"Paradise of tranquility"”

This little boutique hotel, which while centrally located, is a little difficult to find as it is off a non-touristy dirt road. It is a beautiful hotel, decorated simply but with lots of taste and refinement. I was in Siem Reap with my Mom for a wedding and we stayed at Maison Polanka for 4 nights. We were absolutely enthralled with our stay! The hotel grounds were lush and green and after of day out sightseeing, when we returned, we really felt cocooned from the frantic bustle of the city.

We stayed in the Khmer House which is a traditional Cambodian wooden house on stilts that the hotel owners dismantled from the province side and rebuilt on the grounds of the hotel. The room was quite spacious an tastefully decorated with beautiful Khmer art, photos, and colonial furniture. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the breeze of the ceiling fans! We had most of our meals at the hotel. The Cambodian cuisine, was excellent, fresh, and very authentic (I lived in SE Asia for 4 years). The samosas and fried battered shrimp with ground pepper and lime sauce which were absolutely to die for!

Overall, a Maison Polanka is a great address for those seeking understated refinement, relaxation, and excellent Cambodian cuisine. The owners gave us super advice for visits, temple excusions, and shopping - thanks to them and their attentive staff, our short stay in Siem Reap was just perfect! I'm really look forward to being back.

Room Tip: The Khmer house is located right in the middle of the garden. It is secluded from the other rooms...

Sometimes places should remain secret and thanks god !
Maison Polanka is not yet in the guide books! We were happy to book the Green room only 2 weeks in advance. As mentioned in the reviews , the small details are everywhere and this is the real luxury for us.
Being welcome at the airport by the manager, Ms Chan is a treat and already an introduction to your experience. The service is discreet but always around. We discovered that Khmer food was so tasteful and had it throughout our stay ( try the fish soup with fresh vegetable and rice noodles!).
You can trust them also to recommend local restaurants, boutiques and temples visits. We did a lot in 4 days because it was so well planned and will definitely be back.

We had the chance to spend an entire week at Maison Polanka during the CNY break in February, with our 2 years and a half daughter, and our stay was far beyond what we expected...
This place is magic: it offers a real privacy in an amazing lush environment. Every rooms, as we had the chance to see all of them, are tastefully decorated while remaining sober. The Khmer house is a state of the art.
The wonderful staff make you feel like home. Although they provide an excellent authentic Cambodian food, Nathalie, the owner, asked about our tastes and make new menus according to our preferences... A must..
Our daughter felt immediately at home, running through the garden, doing the housekeeping (;-)), cooking with the kitchen staff...
The location is just perfect: far enough from the crowed Siem reap, but still 10 min by tuk yuk from the city center, and close to most of the temples.
Nathalie's advices are priceless. She knows the place better than anyone else...
We are already looking forward for our next stay in Siem reap... at Maison Polanka of course.. somewhere over the rainbow...

i found here all what i was looking for : a quiet place and different from all hotels but in a good location. I was looking for privacy, luxury, beauty, dream, comfort, and attention.
That's funny, i was reading a poem by Baudelaire called :"l'invitation au voyage" i quote : "là, tout n'est qu'ordre et beauté, luxe, calme et volupté". i found it in Maison Polanka. On the river side of siem reap, among certainly more than hundred hotels, i found this amazing property with this huge and lush garden making me feel unique.
i had the green room, in the traditional main house, with a big terrace facing the ppol. I felt in another world, i found comfort with the bedding, luxury in all little details, the simple but refined restaurant, the exclusivity of the swimming pool, and this unique feeling of being home. this is more than a hotel... tank you !

Room Tip: The green room is exceptional, however there were some guests in the Khmer house, which aseems to ne...

I came in this lovely hotel located in a beautiful garden created by the owners. Besides the beauty of the place it is also a very special charming hotel. Human, full of thousands of little details made for you , dedicated to you, you feel happy, calm and peaceful. When you go oustide even when you have seen all the beauties around you (the temples!!!) you just want to come back very quickly to Polanka and meditate about the luck you have to be here. Thank you all the charming people who helped to make my stay so wnderful.

Pros: As many others indicate the grounds are a very special oasis of beauty from the frenzy of Siem Reap. We had dinner and it was very high in quality.

Cons: We had the yellow room. No closet (a hanging rack), no television (OK with us), no chair or couch to sit on, a flight of five stair to the bathroom. The overall feel of the room was austere. The breakfast was surprisingly modest. Do not expect, ham, bacon or sausage, they are not offered. Do not expect a croissant, instead your choice is a roll or tasteless white bread.

Our rooms are a blend between the simplicity of Khmer homes, the modernity of Khmer contemporary artists, the colonial and post-colonial past (furniture) and the comfort of five star hotel bedding and amenities. We provide TV & DVDs upon request during check in as well as other services (mobile phones, safety boxes use, adaptors... and food requests). Our guest relation receptionist was not able to go through the explanation as you seemed to be tired after your flight. Spartan maybe but not austere...the yellow room is a bright and happy room whose decoration is centered around the painting of artist Kcchao Touch representing her loving mother with colorful hearts and flowers. The yellow room has a choice of seating options: a chair, a divan and a mini 1960's bench. A staircase access visible on the web photos leads to the elevated bathroom which is spacious and filled with light. We do not recommend the yellow room for young children or older persons though, because of the staircase. Because we were fully booked at that time, and because we were not able to have more details about your expectations before arrival, we could not upgrade you to the Purple room or the Green room, which would have been a better match. Regarding breakfast, we usually provide buttered croissants, cakes and crispy daily made ficelle, as well as bacon (on request ) and will make an enquiry to understand what might have happened during your stay. Our special touch at Maison Polanka is to offer a personalized and discreet service matching our guests desires and we encourage all of you to express them upon reservation, before arrival and during their stay to make that moment at Angkor a unique experience. We invite you to return and enjoy Maison Polanka 's full range of options.

The Polanka house is probably one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. A wonderful retreat after a long day at the temples. Once inside the gated property, it's hard to leave. It's like paradise - luscious garden, inviting pool, wonderful service & staff, and excellent authentic Cambodian food (much better than most restaurants we've been to in Siem Reap). My husband really enjoyed his foot massages under the Khmer house - where we stayed (amazing decoration). We were very pleased with our accommodations, and would love to come back soon !!!
