My boyfriend and I were in Siem Reap for 3 days and this hotel was the perfect spot for us! We arrived on a flight from Singapore around 7am and our friendly driver from the hotel was waiting for us. He was very friendly and told us all the buildings and sights we passed on the way to the hotel.

We had not made plans for any tours in advance but had a clear schedule in mind. Upon arriving to the hotel we were immediately handed the key to our room and asked if we wished to visit the temples for the day. Upon saying yes they said - Okay we will arrange for a driver and guide - go put your things in your room and when you come back down breakfast will be ready for you"

It was! Each morning for about $5 each we enjoyed fresh juices, delicious dark coffee, eggs, bread, jam, and lovely fresh fruit. We most certainly did not go hungry. The guide and driver we were set up with were also incredible and personable guys.

Each afternoon we would come back from the temples astounded and exhausted and the hotel was the perfect oasis - it felt like we were in a jungle! Each afternoon we would go to the pool, back to the room to enjoy the refreshing traditional Khmer style of bathing - then head to the front desk to get a tuck tuck for $2 to take us into town for dining and celebrating. We slept great each night as each day was so packed!

Amazing trip! The hotel room was always spotless. The rooms are simple but have everything you need including a safe and AC. The porches were spotlessly cleaned each morning as were the rooms and bathroom. Each day we also received a "free" large bottle of water that came in handy for our visits to the temples and Tonle Sap

Ooo I forgot to mention the great massages that can be arranged! Don't miss!

Highly recommend! Thanks for such a great trip!

We have a 3 and 4 years old children, from the beginning we knew, we needed a children friendly little and budget also hotel with garden and swiming pool. We wanted to visit the temples in a very relaxed way.

The Borann is perfect, the rooms are basic but nice and each room has a little terrace to sit down and enjoy the garden while your children run around. The restaurant menu has not so many variety but enough to enjoy a nice meal with family (plus the incredible mango juice, cold beer and nice wines), no TV in the rooms but sure no needed if you have that nice garden and many thing to pay attention at (frogs, birds, trees, flowers and swimingpool).
Is away from the center but believe me, is a plus, you can relax and enjoy in the silence of the nature and bird singing, anyway they have a tuc tuc service or car with driver to take you anyway. April is hot so walking around for us was not a choice, we visited the temples only one day and leaving early as posible ´cause of the heat. The staff is nice and friendly. We would comeback here!

Well, for US$ 45 per night excluding breakfast, it is really for me a dream come true.
Borann Inn is in a quiet street, far from the road noise. It is made of 5 small buildings of 4 rooms each, the ones on the top offering great view to the trees, but the stairs are steep. The room is perfectly adequate, and you can use either the low flow warm shower or the bucket for a refreshing Khmer shower. Most important, the building is well insulated against the fierce heat of the day, there is a good airco which is usually not necessary as the room also comes with a powerful ceiling fan. And, oh evidence of a careful architect, the terrace comes also with a ceiling fan so you can enjoy leisury afternoons.
There is also a good swimming pool, nice and warm, and deck chairs with pillows.
The breakfast has a distinct French flavor, with fresh baguettes and croissants, out of the ordinary jams (OK, I guess some people will not like their originality), and upon requests some good eggs. The coffee and hot chocolate are prepared with care, and everything is served on beautiful china, making the whole experience a distinguished affair at the antipodes of the crowded buffets.
The only drawback, totally justified by the low price, is that there is no phone in the room (so if you wish to moan to the reception, you must walk there – do not worry, it is not far). And there is no warm tap water - but hot shower is OK. Finally it is a bit outside the town, but a tuck tuck costs only US$ 2 one way.

If Siem Reap city centre proves to be a little too busy and you can't stand the sight of yet another Mr Fish Massage Pool, then this hotel could be a good option. Situated nearer to the Temple complex, this hotel has a really quiet and relaxing feel. Nice and simply furnished rooms with more space to store and unpack luggage than the average room . Each room has a small terrace with views over the lush gardens or the nicely empty swimming pool. The bathroom features a normal shower and a Khmer shower which is interesting (I won't give anything away). Good access to reliable Tuk-Tuk or taxi drivers who can be found playing badminton infront of the hotel.

There are a huge number of hotels over a wide price range in Siem Reap. We were recommended this one by friends who had just stayed here. I think there is something really special about this place and I would come back and stay here again. It's quite an oasis of calm from the world outside. There is a little outdoor pool, which is a good way to cool off after a day walking around temples. We loved the elegant high ceiling wooden room, which was reached by climbing some steep wooden stairs (through if travelling with toddlers you might want to ask for a room on the ground floor).

The location is not in the very centre of Siem Reap but it's an interesting area and the main part of town is 5 mins a way in a Tuk Tuk (1$ negotiable). Even though they only have about 20 rooms the place is well staffed, professionally run and by the end of your stay you may have met some interesting characters. Highly recommended.
