Having my girlfriends brother over for a visit, we decided to go for European food on his last day in Siem Reap. We went to Schnitzel Wirtin, and we were not disappointed! The owner is friendly, and on his recommendation, we decided to only order one dish each. Looking at the prices here, one can be fooled into thinking that the dishes are small. That is not the case! If you are on a tight budget, or not starving, one dish can easily be shared by two people.
We went for the garlic schnitzel, the wiener schnitzel and the cordon bleu. Personally, I think the last two were better than the garlic schnitzel, but I dont think I would have been disappointed with the garlic schnitzel if I did not know about the other options.
The restaurant is located by the river, about 1 km south of the city centre, so I recommend taking a tuktuk or a bike if you plan visiting. Make an appointment with your driver to pick you up when you are done, because when you are finished eating here, you are so full that you do not want to walk back.
