“Lotus Blanc Resort at Siem Reap, Cambodia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

- Delicious food (ask for Khmer Food);
- Great installations (the swimming pool is very nice);
- Really good room;
- Location is very good;
- Above all - staff!!! (Sambath Soun, Southy and Louem are great - ask for them!!!)

I was in my honeymoon and they did so many incredible things so I could feel special! Even a room upgrade, champagne, flowers all over and a charming and delicious cake!

Don´t forget to try the Candle Light Dinner!

Room Tip: Third floor with swimming pool view is awsome!

Being in the hospitality industry myself, service and common sense are the two most important factors that will offer a fantastic experience to any customers. We have planned to see the Angkor Wat for my other half's 40th birthday celebration and we came across a very last minute fantastic deal offered by Air Asia. After much thought we decide to go ahead with Lotus Blanc Resort and booked in for 5 nights.

We arrived very early at the hotel and we were greeted by Dany. An Assistant manager and a fantastic individual. She checked in for us and informed us that we have been upgraded from Deluxe to a Suite room. We were pleased. Since if was still very early to check in, we decided to have breakfast at the hotel. Now usually breakfast is not provided on the day of arrival but this time round we were given the flexibility to have breakfast. I was tremendously impressed that such service and good common sense were provided at this hotel. You don't normally get this sort of flexibility not even at a Five Start establishment.

After breakfast, Dany sat down with us and started advising us on the activities we can do. My other half and I decided to take a tuk tuk out and head off to see the beautiful Angkor Wat. Oh the weather was sunny and hot during our stay even though it was the raining season in Cambodia.

Upon returning, we were given our keys to the suite. We were impressed with the suite given to us. It was very clean, comfortable bed, nice bath tub and fantastic room size. The only set back was the air-conditioning but it was fixed immediately. We decided to spend the rest of the day at the pool. Having a small bite and enjoying such modest and old school service given. We were very happy.

During our stay, we had breakfast and lunch at the hotel. The food was simply amazing. We have put on at least 3kgs eating at this hotel. We hang out most our mornings at the pool and ate at the Coco Bar or have the restaurant menu served to us. The pool it self was awesome in size and the water was just simply refreshing and perfect in temperature

The simple Khmer cuisine rich in flavor and their westernized menu, mouth-watering from the starter to the dessert. Some suggestions I would make for Coco Bar are to have enough cutlery and glassware on standby. To have a bartender making drinks at the bar rather than going back and forth to the main bar for drinks order. Perhaps Coco Bar should have a different set of uniforms for staff working by the pool so that they will feel more comfortable working under the heat.

We checked out the SPA and it was ok. Definitely there's room for improvement. Having said that, Dany offered us a complimentary foot massage and birthday cake to celebrate my darling's 40th birthday. There was nothing else we could ask for.

What we really enjoyed the most are the consistency in service and food offered by this wonderful hotel. From management to their rank and file personnel, they are definitely on the right track. Every staff member took their time to chat with us not because they had to but because they wanted to get to know us better.

Being the only Hotel in Siem Reap that is not run by expat GM or F&B Manager, we would rate this hotel 5- Star. It was a stress free and most enjoyable stay for the both of us.

Kudos to Dany, Thy and the staff of Lotus Blanc Resort. Keep up the fantastic job.

See you soon.

Ginny and David

Room Tip: Room selection that are facing the garden or pool are ideal.

Before I start this review, I must state that I've been travelling around Asia for 8 years and I've stayed in various type of hotels, serviced apartments and villas. With this being said... Lotus Blanc resort was the best hotel that I've ever stayed in. I honestly cant pick fault with the hotel.... and there isnt enough superlatives to describe the way we were treated during our stay.

I'm going to split this review into sections as I believe each part of service and hotels needs to be highlighted.

Number of people in our party: 9 people. (2 families - 4 adults and 5 children)
Number of rooms booked: 4 deluxe rooms (2 nights) then 3 deluxe rooms (4 nights)

THE LOCATION:
Perfect for our party.... It was only 5 mins away by tux tux to Pub street (approx cost $2) and 10 mins away by tux tux to Angkor Wat

Room Tip: Speak to Ms Sambath and Ms Jenny.... They'll look after you :)

From airport pickup onwards we felt like we were treated like royalty. I have never received such attention to detail and thoughtfulness from hotel staff before, this hotel has the best customer service, the manager is one of those people who really enjoys making others happy. He went to great lengths to surprise us, as we were on our honeymoon, and it really mad our trip extra special to be welcomed at lotus blanc.
The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you might require when traveling. The showers are hot and have great water pressure, the wifi works great too. There is a fitness room, and a very large clean pool, free wifi, two bottles of free water in each room, and the breakfast buffet is a very large and varied spread (we love the food here), and our reservation included a free lunch or dinner, we chose the Khmer set menu dinner and wow what a treat, such a great way to sample the variety of Cambodian food.
Transportation into town is two dollars US, and there is a small market for water and snacks rig across the street. We also had the room service and were p leased with how quickly food was delivered. Overall really great hotel,ith fantastic staff and customer service. Cheers!

We stayed at the lotus blanc for three nights and were extremely surprised by the superb service of the extremely friendly and attentive staff. Upon check-in we received a coconut welcome drink and even had a fruit basket in our standard room. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The entire complex is in a very good shape and even has a nice pool area. There is a wide selection of foods available for breakfast. All of the staff greeted us when we walked by and the ones in the reception area even remembered our names. The location is also very convenient since it is situated half way between the airport and the city center. Our rate included free airport transfer and tuk tuks are available outside the hotel to take you to the city center (c. USD 2). All major sights can also easily reached by tuk tuk.

All in all our stay at this 4 star resort was highly enjoyable and recommendable.

Perfect Air Con PU and DO at the airport. Good Buffet, good rooms, good internet and nice pool.

What makes this hotel is the staff. We have never seen such happy and competent and committed staff at any hotel. All of them ! Dany and Jenny did stand out as front end managers, helping us and always available.

Someone is doing something very right at this hotel.

Our only small criticism would be the constantly replaying 50's and 60's music in the dining room. Surely there must be something more culturally relevant ?

We stayed here for 4 nights and would definitely stay again. The staff are truly wonderful - friendly, warm and they looked after us so well - even taking me to an eye doctor which I am so thankful for! I don't know what I would have done otherwise..There was an honest desire to make the time in Siem Reap and the hotel the best experience for us. Overall - the best staff, good rooms, good breakfast - a five star recommendation.
