“A peaceful & relaxing stay!!!”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

Stayed 2 nights

We flew into Siem reap with cambodia Angkor air,a 45 min flight from Phnom phenn.
Taxis was $7.00 USD to the hotel,25 min drive....

Arriving at the royal crown hotel,we were welcome by very friendly staff, who handled our
Baggage with ease....
Our room was very spacious ,clean with that hard bed again... Old TV ,needs to be replace
With new modern one!!! Air con was a bit noisy.....nice bathroom......
There is two small pools to use,one with pool bar an the other with cabana beds......

Wifi is fine, but every time you close your iPad,you have to log in again with the codes, this
Becomes annoying........
Breakfasts was delicious ,but I am over eating large breakfast....

This resort is located on a noisy road, but is a 5 min walk away from the pub street road to
Dine at....money changer there give the best rate, not at the hotel....

Food an drinks were very well priced, you won't go hungry.....had the pizza for lunch ....

Overall our stay was pleasant an peaceful,a nice old fashion style hotel with great service...
We also booked a Angkor wat ,half day tour with taxi for $15.00 USD... At this hotel.....
I found half day was more than enough for us!!! To tour the Angkor wat....

Taxi back to airport cost $10.00 USD...

Ciao

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and we enjoyed our stay. The pros for this hotel is the cost is reasonable (about $48 per night), the staff is friendly in greeting you, setting up drivers and tours, etc., and the complimentary breakfast had good variety with a fresh egg and omelet station. Another advantage was that it was just a five minute walk from the Old Market area and night market, which has one of the best for low cost goods anywhere in Asia (think Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Oakley, etc.) The main drawback for the hotel was that it is on a dusty, muddy, busy road that you must maneuver to walk to the market but having said that, just be careful and you should be fine.

The bed was a little firm but comfortable and the bathroom had everything you needed. Our A/C took a while to cool the room down but it is a hot, humid region, so perhaps that should be expected. We never visited the pool but lots of other patrons did and they seemed to enjoy it.

We asked the concierge to book us a driver so we could visit the ruins. Our driver was Mr. Chan and he was $30 each day, spoke good English, and was as kind as anyone. He brought ice cold water for us and gave very good directions on where and when he would meet us and take us to the next temple. I highly recommend this, especially if you wish to return to an air-conditioned car after walking through extreme heat and humidity for two to three hours each.

Overall a nice hotel, close to fantastic shopping, with a market across the street for water, soda, beer, and snacks,

For the price we paid, my wife and I thought this to be a good place. We arranged a pickup from the airport and were met there by a friendly tuk-tuk driver who we hired for our 2-day tramp around Ankor and various other Wats. On arrival at the hotel, we were given a cool fruit drink whilst we checked in, and then escorted to our room. This was spacious, clean and well equipped for this standard of hotel.
Location is excellent, a five minute walk over the river bridge takes you to the old market, where tourist items squeeze in next to wet market produce and hardware stalls, so you'll be ok if you need a T-shirt, a dead fish or a spirit level. Almost behind is the pub street area with its bars and restaurants, and even here in tourist town the food and drink is good value. There are night markets too, if your feet are up to it after a day at the wats, and if that is a problem try one of the many massage places to ease the muscles.
Nice hotel, nice town atmosphere. We enjoyed it very much.

We had the penthouse suite, and both my wife and myself loved it a lot. It wasn't a perfect stay, i will list down the pros and cons we had.
The cons.
1. We arrived at the airport and expecting the free hotel shuttle but no one came to pick us up. Ended up using the taxi and when i reached the hotel, they told me i needed to write an email to notify my arrival. I told them it was booked via airasiago.com, which already included my flight details. There shouldn't be any excuse to not pick us up.
2. The hotel room has its toilet doors left open and basically you can see your partner taking a shower or a dump. They put curtains but its not good enough for me.
The good.
1. Good buffet breakfast
2. Good location. Don't bother with tuk tuk when you can just walk 10 mins to the heart of the town.
3. They have 2 nice swimming pools. Not one, but ! How awesome
4. I loved the rooftop bar.

All in all it was a pleasant stay here in Siem Reap. You can't do much here except for temples, so i think a 5 day stay here is sufficient.

After purchasing a promo plane ticket from a budget airline, what could be the next step but to book a 4 star hotel at the heart of Siem Reap! We booked through Agoda.com for 3 nights but they also have a special deal of receiving 1 overnight free! This place is so cheap that you wouldn't expect good service and excellent facilities.

Our room is spacious with one queen size and an extra bed (upon request for additional cost) since we were three in the group. For three people the rooms was still spacious. You also have a bathtub and (hot and cold) shower not to mention a complete set of personal effects.

We had free round trip airport transfers. The vehicle used was an old Camry but the driver (Sambo) was hospitable and very soft spoken. He was an excellent tour guide too! Upon arrival we had welcome drinks at the lobby. The lobby was simple yet designed with class. Entering the hotel already makes you feel like you are in an Asian inspired spa! The front desk officer gave us a warm welcome and invited us to relax at the sofa while he processed our info for check in. He mentioned the hotel's amenities such as wifi in the rooms (good speed), spa amenities and two swimming pools (salt and fresh water). The top floor has a bar/restaurant with the view of the place (though we werent' able to see it).

Upon check out, we had another free ride to the airport by Sambo and the manager of the hotel even walked us out to our ride. I have never been impressed like this before.
We got a room with a balcony facing the road. But quite frankly, we didnt' appreciate it much because it was very dusty and the dirt road/noise of the vehicles was disturbing. We kept waking up at around 7am because during our stay a campaign was ongoing for the election.

What else can I say, GREAT SERVICE, VERY AFFORDABLE, VALUE FOR MONEY. This hotel is a 5 minute walk to the market, night market and 20 min walk to the national museum.

I will definitely book here again!!!!

One Last Thing:
Most hotels in Siam Reap are owned by foreigners. This hotel is owned by a local. I prefer dining and checking in at a locally owned person to help the local economy...

Room Tip: It might be best to get a room without the balcony to save you some money. It was the only thing we...

Take note that I've rated this hotel based on its money's worth and not based on it being a five-star or a four-star hotel, which is a common mistake made here.

Just a five-minute walk away from the Old Market & Pub Street area, everything is within arm's reach. Aside from Royal Crown's location being top notch, its facilities are very pleasing. Their rooms are spacious and clean. As aforementioned, don't expect a five-star hotel like the Shangri-La, but for the hotel's rate, you get more than your money's worth. The breakfast buffet was also delicious with quite a selection and a section that offers Khmer cakes. The service was impeccable and their staff was very welcoming and kind. Everything you'd want in a hotel in Siem Reap is definitely in Royal Crown Hotel & Spa. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

This hotel was good to stay at as a lone traveler. A little more expensive than you could opt to pay in Siem reap, but it includes nice pools, spa, restaurant/breakfast, and air conditioning. The rooms are spacious even though I was given a double bed instead of a larger bed. The bathrooms could be awkward as there are no doors if you are staying with someone you don't feel completely comfortable with. Also, I couldn't figure out how to turn out all the lights for bed but still keeping the air conditioning on- so that is the main reason for the average review. Otherwise, god place to stay.

The restaurant was decent for dinner; however, a good selection at breakfast and everything was fresh. Also there is a rooftop bar with buy 2 get 1 free drink specials at night. A pool side bar is also available.

Overall I would stay here again alone, but may chose to opt out if traveling with friends or family.

Room Tip: Asking for balcony does not necessarily mean there is a good view. I would chose high floor as it is...
