Reviewed 10 August 2013

We recently stayed at the Kiri Boutique Hotel for 4 nights and would definitely return to this hotel. We booked the accommodation through wotif.com and stayed in a Deluxe King Bed room on the 2nd Floor. Our room rate was approx US$38 per night which included a free pick up from the airport in the Hotel's tuk tuk which was a lovely way to arrive. Our room was huge and very comfortable and the balcony with table and chairs out the front of the room overlooking the pool was a nice place to relax. Upon check in we were greeted by the manager Kim San and from the time we checked in to our check out on the final day Kim San and his staff were excellent - very friendly, attentive and welcoming. As we were staying in the wet season and the weather was very hot and steamy the saltwater pool in the middle of the complex was lovely to cool off in especially after a morning of trekking around the temples. Whilst the hotel is located slightly out of town (not a walkable distance) they do provide a free one way tuk tuk service into town and Kim San advised us a return tuk tuk to the Hotel should be about US$1-2 (slightly more if there is more than 2 people). I would advise taking a hotel business card with you if you do go into town as many of the tuk tuk drivers were not sure where the hotel was located and there is a map of the hotel on the back of the business cards. The meals and drinks served in the restaurant and pool side bar were excellent however the breakfast options were a bit limited (not too fussed as breakfast was included in our room rate). Kim San is very open to feedback and improvements they can make to the Hotel in the future and was quick to point out they are aware of the issue in the showers (drain is too small to drain away all the water and takes a while to completely drain away.) They also spray the hotel for mosquitoes several times a month which certainly kept them at bay for most of our stay although with no flyscreen over the doors to the rooms you do need to keep the glass sliding doors to your room shut. Overall this hotel was excellent value for money, very quite location, terrific staff and we will definitely return in the future. Thank you Kim San and staff.

Room Tip: As there is no lift if you have troubles with stairs request a room on the ground floor.

Kim San and his staff are great. We have two kids and stayed in a family room - two rooms with a connecting door. Plenty of space for our family of four. Best maintained pool we have seen. Clear water all the way to the bottom. I can't speak too highly of Kim San - the owner. On the job - all the time making our life easier.

Because this hotel is slightly out of town (a ten minute ride to Pub Street), it is quieter. The owner provides FREE tuk tuk service to town. He provides HIS personal cell phone number to call for a pick up.

Verdict: 2 Thumbs and 2 Toes Up! I will definitely stay at Kiri Boutque Hotel again.

Room Type: Deluxe Room (Free Pick Up)
Room Location: 2nd Floor
Paid: US$ 33.00 per night

Pros:
- Friendly and helpful hotel manager/owner (Kim San)
- Free Tuk Tuk ferry service to and from town
- Free pick-up from airport
- Free use of hotel bicycles
- Good and fresh breakfast; good confectionery, fresh fruits, freshly cooked eggs, bacons etc.
- Very clean salt-water pool (no chemical)
- Relatively newly renovated so everything looks clean and new
- Electronic safe in hotel room
- Kettle and tea-cups
- Complimentary bottled water
- Complimentary biscuits
- 2 make-up room services a day; morning and late afternoon

Cons:
- Bathroom drainage is not very effective (small pipes) so water accumulates/floods
- Toilet floor was a little slippery because of smooth surface
- Hotel reception staff are not really knowledgeable of local attractions (when I asked them where should I visit)
- Hotel is away from town (but a good thing considering it is quiet and peaceful); but doesn't matter as hotel provides free Tuk Tuk service to and from town
- Bumpy dirt road on the way to hotel (which hopefully will be paved in the next year or two)
- Hotel laundry service is too expensive (compared to $1 per kg laundry service on the street outside)

Very comfortable hotel. Will definitely stay here again! Highly recommended.

I am in love with this hotel! Albeit a tad further from Pub Street as compared to some other boutique hotels, the owner Kim San and his great staff made up for it with superb service! The rooms are always chilled whenever we come back from exploring the temple ruins, and water was always made available for us whenever as well! I'm very pleased with the hotel design and location; it's quiet and clean. My family and I enjoyed winding down every night at the balcony with some drinks and local food, and Kim San was always around to tell us more about the Cambodian history and Siem Reap and helped us arrange superb day trips and great guides. There's a tuk tuk which was always available to bring us out to the main Pub St area (10 mins max) and the driver is very friendly and sweet; he even brought out umbrellas for us on a rainy night! Kim San is extremely friendly and always there to make us feel right at home. Meeting his family and friendly staff really made our trip very memorable and I wouldnt think of staying anywhere else if I'm to visit Siem Reap again! Till then, all the best to you dear Kim San! Looking forward to visit Siem Reap and you again!

Room Tip: I stayed in the deluxe rooms on the first floor, and it's quiet and has a very relaxed feel in i...

The first few minutes spent in Kiri Boutique has already shocked me with their fabulous in room checked in. What a decent cozy hotel to put me on 5 nights stay, lucky me with the recommendation from local. Great in hygiene and yummy food served at breakfast with simple yet attractive choice of food. Swimming pool is awesome with special salt water. No chroline smell and beautiful jacuzzi by the corner. Last n the least, customer service was more than 5 stars!

Away from the backpacker chaos of Pub St. (thank god!), the Kiri is a great place to relax in after a day of chasing temples. The food is surprisingly good for a hotel, the staff is gracious and charming, and the hotel is lovely and clean, with a pretty garden and pool. It's a little hard to find the first time, so be sure to go out with a map sketched out for yourself, especially as some of the tuk-tuk drivers may not know where it is.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms that don't have a balcony table/chairs directly in front of the doors.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and overall, we like this hotel for its peace and quite. Mr Kim San the super friendly owner will make you feel at home and give you a good run down on what you can do in Siem Reap. The staffs are friendly and are always ready to greet you when you leave and get back to the hotel. The hotel from what we know is relatively new, being opened only in early 2013. The rooms are big, clean and spacious with a decent bathroom.

We made an arrangement with the hotel front desk for a day trip to visit the temples and our tuk tuk driver Mr Sdeong is extremely friendly and helpful in bringing us around and explaining some history to us.

Only negative is the location which is some distance away from the city center and the night markets. However, the hotel provides a free tut tut ride there so it is not really a major issue. However, you would have to find your tut tut back yourself.

And yes.. one last thing.. a bigger TV would have made everything perfect :)
