This was a great little find, we booked this because of feedback on TA and we weren't disappointed. Kiri is a small hotel, quiet and away from the rat race but you can walk to town if you fancy it or pick up a hotel Tuk Tuk for a couple of dollars. The staff are friendly and accommodating, although many are trying to learn English and improve their hospitality skills so my advice is to help them along a little and be patient. The rooms are spacious (we travelled with our toddler), a cot was provided, the room was cleaned daily and the facilities were just what we needed. Our Tuk Tuk driver was waiting for us at the airport and we used him as much as possible including a day trip to the temples under his guidance and advice on what was best with baby in tow (USD 15 for the small tour was enough with a toddler). Our stay was very pleasant and Mr Kim is always on hand to help where needed. Breakfast is a simple continental style affair with pastries, coffee, tea, juice, ham and eggs etc., or you can chose the traditional Asian noodles. We had lunch at the hotel every day because of convenience and everything we chose was excellent quality, the local dishes of seafood fried rice, fresh spring rolls and burgers (yes, Cambodia has excellent beef) were very tasty and we were never disappointed. The beer is cold, the cocktails made from scratch and not a pre-mix and your giving the lovely Kiri staff an opportunity to improve their hospitality skills. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, my only concern was the pool area was a little slippery when wet so be careful. Overall great value for money with the warmth and charm that Cambodia is so well known for, the staff were delightful and especially great with our little girl. If you want 5 star major hotel chain service, this place isn't for you, Kiri has a lot more to offer than that, a little gem that we called home for 5 days. Don't worry about the little dirt road leading up to the hotel, behind the gate is a little gem.

Room Tip: We asked for a ground floor room (101) because of baby we like to avoid balconies, note all countrie...

Stayed at Kiri for 2 nights in late October 2013. The hotel has a very good standard, and the staff tries to do it's best, but...

Positive:

- airport pick up
- tuk tuk driver for the temple tour (he was the best of all!)
- warm welcome with ice cold towels and a tea
- pool
- clean, good-sized rooms
- swans made from towels and a heart of roses welcoming us at our honeymoon room
- staff tries hard

Nesseccary improvements:

- staff training (english! hospitality!)
> our "honeymoon room" (208) was right under the kitchen so we could listen to them cleaning (reception, pointed on that problem, promised they will stop immediately and it took two more phone calls to male them keep their promise)
> service is too submissive and intrusive at the same time (tell you they will come to your room - to pick up luggage e.g. - in 5 min and appear within 1 min; stay around your table in the restaurant and so make you feel very uncomfortable)
> phone call to restaurant will be answered neither not or by a person without english-knowledge
> when we were supposed to be picked up in the early morning to see the temples at sunrise we were asked to sit down in reception are for absolutely no reason, could start not before having asked three times if we could start

- food and drinks
> fresh fruit drinks come from the bottle
> chicken curry exists of 50% onions even though they are not mentioned in the menu
> meals come incomplete (once bread was missing and then you get toast with the curry, another time butter didn't come with it)

- the street to the hotel (luckily the tuk tuks wheels survived)

The hotel is a good catch, but it asks for a big portion of patience regarding their staff.

Room Tip: Do not go for room 208.

San K, Owner at Kiri Boutique Hotel, responded to this review, 13 November 2013
Dear Value customer,
Thank you for staying with Kiri Boutique Hotel on your recent trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the room 208 (one night stay only and then we moved to another room) you booked with us, and I would like to apologise on behalf of Kiri Boutique Hotel for this.

It is unfortunate that the room is close to the kitchen so you heard a little noise (that is the reason why you were unhappy), there will inevitably be some small problems to fix in order to perfect our service. This has now been rectified and we thank you for bringing this to our intention.

If you return to Siem Reap at any time we would love the opportunity to present our improvements to you. Please enjoy the remainder of your holiday and we wish you a safe trip back to your home country.
Best regards,
Kim San

We booked two nights based on other travel reviews and ended up adding a third. Very comfortable, great a/c, spacious rooms, very quiet and safe. The property is beautiful with a pool and 3rd floor open air restaurant with a nice view of the property. There is a lovely pool and poolside bar. Breakfast was included in the room - continental style with fresh pastries, coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit and choice of eggs or noodle dishes. Wish they would offer real orange juice instead of Tang tho.

From our welcome with a face towel and iced tea, to our reluctant departure, the staff bent over backwards to provide whatever service we needed. Kim San, the owner, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and travel arrangements, and made sure we had good English speaking tuk tuk drivers. We LOVED head tuk tuk driver Mr. Bun-Sdeong, who took us out to the Landmine Museum and through small villages where we saw another side of Siem Reap. Incredible, humbling and awe-inspiring. He was so gracious and patient as we asked to stop every 5 minutes for pictures. He spoke excellent English and was able to answer our questions and help educate us about Cambodian culture, food and daily life. HIGHLIGHT of our trip!!

We didn't take advantage of the hotel's free pickup service and our tuk tuk driver from the bus station had a little trouble finding it, so I would recommend using their service. Also, the unpaved road to the hotel can get REALLY muddy and full of potholes so the drive was a bumpy adventure. The good news is they are paving the road this month so it's a non-issue.

Don't miss this gem.

Room Tip: Our room on the poolside, 2nd floor had a little seating area on the balcony overlooking the pool.

Spent 3 nights at the Kiri Boutique Hotel. New facility with very clean rooms and a nice salt water pool. A bit off the beaten path but only a short tuk-tuk ride to the old town and pub street. Staff is very friendly and helpful, but occasionally the language barrier comes into play. There is a restaurant on the premises that has a variety of items but the food is just average. Overall, a good value for the price.

They do a free airport pick up service - already a good start.

We choose Kiri after reading some of the reviews on TA.

We were not disappointed. The price is very reasonable, the room was very clean, comfortable and full of all the modern coms. The surroundings are very relaxing and the pool is a very nice and welcomed comfort.

But what is really nice about this place is the staff. Very helpful, kind and making all the efforts to make our stay as comfortable as they could.

Services: the food is good and there is a nice view from the roof top restaurant. Perfect for a cold beer after a busy day visiting the temples.

We used their tok tok driver (nr11) for all our stay and he was great - very safe and very nice.

We didn't try their tour guides. For the first day we took a day from the official guide company, but didn't find it that useful. To be honest, if you have a good tok tok driver and a handy guide (Lonely Plant is good enough) you will be fine.

Also if you are going to see the sunrise at Ankor Wat - a good spot is to go on the right hand side by the library - less people and a very good view.

Overall we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room.

Kiri Boutique Hotel is home away from home. The hotel actually looks like a home converted into a small, charming hotel. From the time I arrived till the day I checked out I really felt important and very much welcome. All the staff are extra friendly and did the extra mile to fulfill my needs. I was traveling solo and I like the solitude the hotel gave me. It is a little bit off from the main road and about 5 minutes tuk tuk ride to the old market and Pub street. It was really quiet and peaceful at night and I got my most restful sleep in weeks there.
I like my room with the view of the pool which is really nice and perfect for lazing out after a day tour of the temples.
Breakfast is rather just OK and acceptable for the price I paid. Don't expect lots of choices or variations.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for those who are in midrange budget and would stay there again the next time I'll be in Siem Reap.
