“Brand new hotel that doesn't disappoint!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

We stayed here as part of our tour through Cambodia. We arrived after a long and bumpy ride from Bangkok and were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are decorated in a very modern and tasteful way. All large rooms with good showers, TV, air conditioning, large comfortable beds and free WiFi. The breakfast that was included was lovely with a good mix of Western and Asian food. The location of this hotel is a little out of the way but is good as it is quiet. Within 10 minutes of walking you are in the centre of Siem Reap. The night markets and "Pub Street" are a great place to have some fun and have a few drinks or shop your heart out. Our favourite part of the hotel were the staff - so friendly and again couldn't do enough to help you. Nothing was too much trouble. We met the owner and had a drink with him - he explained that he has recently taken the hotel over and completely refurbished inside and out. He has done an amazing job - the whole hotel is beautiful. The swimming pool at the front of the hotel is a particular plus point - brand new and lovely. We recommended this hotel if you are staying in Siem Reap - a little haven amongst the craziness. Thank you Banyan Leaf Hotel for a wonderful stay.

We had a nice stay at the hotel. With such a rate, the room is the best and the free breakfast is also good for the asain food eaters. The hotel staffs are the most friendly and helpful ever.
We will stay at the hotel again if we plan to visit Siem Reap.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon in Cambodia. We very tired from a long and bumpy van ride from Phnom Penh when we arrived, and were told that they had overbooked the hotel and had to transport us to another hotel down the street. We were fairly annoyed at this, but they were nice about it and said they would arrange a tuk tuk ride back to Banyan Leaf the next morning and then would give us a discount on a tuk tuk tour to Angkor Wat. However, the next morning we waited for 35 minutes after our previously agreed upon time. We ended up walking halfway back to Banyan Leaf before we ran into the tuk tuk driver who was supposed to pick us up. By this time we were pretty annoyed. They recognized their disorganization and ended up giving us the tuk tuk tour for free, which we appreciated. Our interactions with the staff was very pleasant the entire time. It just seemed like everything was poorly organized.

The rooms themselves were standard, nothing special, clean enough. We booked a king bed but got two double beds instead - comfortable enough since my husband and I each got our own bed (!) but not super romantic especially for a honeymoon. As for their breakfast, I remember there was a decent selection - my husband really liked the yummy fried rice. I was dealing with a bit of food poisoning myself (not from this hotel's food) so wasn't able to get much personal experience with the food :)

I am not easily convinced on a 5 rating but I think this place deserves it. We stayed here for 3 nights at $25 per night.

For context, my rating is based on value for money. Of course if i paid more I would have more expectations which would make it difficult to give this a 5.

Anyway for $25 a night we got a twin room. We walked in and no doubles were available. The staff were nice enough to pull the two beds together. We still slept on separate beds, but it wasn't so bad. Breakfast was included. We usually went down at 9.30am, which was 30min before breakfast ended. So there wasn't a lot left, but if you ask the staff they will refill the buffet for you. They had an egg station so nothing lacking there, fresh eggs to go any way you like them.

Our room was cleaned every day and 2 free bottles of water were provided every day.

The location is ok. It is around a solid 10minute walk into the pub street area. But there's plent to see as you walk down so I guess for the price the location isn't bad. It was actually really quiet at night so we got some peaceful sleep.

The hotel has a pool which we didn't use. They also have a restaurant where we had dinner one night (one curry dish and one rice dish). Got to say it was the tastiest food we had in Siem Reap. we may have got lucky, but i'd happily eat there again.

More than anything else the staff are awesome! Always smiling, always polite and always happy to help. We had just come from Thailand where people are sometimes only nice when they want something. Here it's the opposite.

Highly recommend a stay here. It's a good midrange option.

This place was awesome. Enjoyed the friendly staff who explained everything in well spoken English. Cocktails were good and refreshing especially by the pool. The room included breakfast so that was convenient. A must stay if you come to siem reap. They had a business center where I caught up with my Facebook.

Banyan Leaf hotel has the nicest staff. They helped me with all my transportation needs around Siem Reap. They recommended the best shopping around the city. Greeted me every time I came in the hotel and out the hotel with a big smile.
The Pool was refreshing especially after visiting the temples. We enjoyed the pool bar where you can order drinks right from the pool. The hotel has just recently been renovated so everything here is still new.
I will stay here again the next time I visit Siem Reap since this hotel is so close to the city.

Room Tip: the balcony that overlooks the pool and street is a great choice.

I traveled from Phnem Penh to Siem Reap by bus and stayed in Banyan Leaf hotel for 3 nights. Its compliment pick up from bus station was very handy. The room of my stay was on the top floor with a balcony facing to the east, specious and clean. The hotel staffs were very friendly like most of other hotels I stayed in Cambodia. The hotel was in walking distance to night market/old market (10-15 mins). I had a good stay there despite miscommunication with the tuk tuk driver in the day tour offered by the hotel as I missed bakheng hill sunset at the end of the day.
