Borei Angkor Resort & Spa
Ranked #38 of 361 Hotels in Siem Reap
Reviewed 28 August 2012

We visited Siem Reap in May and had a lovely stay at the Borei Angkor Resort! We got a great deal with one of their online specials they run. We found a better deal and it was cheaper as well as gave us lots of add ons...massages,1/2 price off food and drinks at the hotel, free use of the spa, upgraded room, when we booked through them rather than Agoda or Asia Rooms. The staff was very professional and nice and upgraded us to a larger room overlooking the pool just because they had it open and available. Their happy hour (hopefully its still going) was the best deal in all of Siem Reap! 50% off all drinks and beer...and they were good drinks, not watered down like most when you get 1/2 off. :) we both had a 1 hr massge (included with our booking) and it was one of the best we had on our trip as well as the spa was very nice and relaxing! Big breakfast buffet with lots of western and Asian options. Nice pool to be able to come back to and cool off in after a long hot day walking around The Wat! Only negative thing I would say is the location is a little out of downtown. Only about a $2 tuk tuk ride to the center of the city and there are always drivers waiting outside the hotel to take you, but if you want to be able to walk to pub street this hotel is a little far. Other than that it was wonderful!

me and my partner arrived on 26th Aug 12. The hotel looks really great first impression was very positive. The warm welcome from staff members and service was great. We got upgrade with nice pool view and private tub on big balcony. Wonderful breakfast menu and friendly staff starts your day in very positive way. Travel desk have good option and reliable people who can accompany you to sites. Prices are good no difference even you negotiate outside with yourself. In the end we extended our stay in the hotel

My room was a little dated but the staff and service made up for any gaps in physical appearance. Breakfast included was quite varied and the airport transfer service was well coordinated and included in the rate. I would stay here again and would not hesitate recommending to friends and family.

Room Tip: The hotel is currently undergoing construction building a new reception area which should be complet...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Borei Angkor. The service and staff were excellent. Rooms are a bit dated and spartan, but clean and well maintained. The pool and spa were very good. Food and beverage were excellent. Overall, a great place to stay while visiting the temples around Siem Reap. I would definitely stay again.

We had a perfect holiday in May . My kids are still talking about it. I must commend Mr Alex ( Staff) who went the extra mile to assist us wherever possible. Definately recommended and will come back again.

Room Tip: The premium rooms on the top floor are really fantastic. the service was super!

We only booked to stay at this resort for one night but ended up staying for four!
We were upgraded to a large one bedroom suite when we arrived as they had overbooked and only had twin share suites left.

The check in process took quite a long time which was a little bit frustrating but once we were in a suitable room we were quite happy to just settle in and enjoy the luxurious apointments of the suite.

The detail was amazing, fresh fruit platter, fluffy robes and an extra special turn down service on our last night! Thanks to their efficient and thorough housekeepers!

We ate in the restaurant on one night and the dinner was ridiculous! A buffet with absolutely everything you could think of. Somewhat hit and miss with the dishes, however.
Breakfast each morning was awesome!

The day spa was where things started to get quite disapointing, my girlfriend and I had booked the spa for a dual treatment of around three hours. Whilst the therapists were quite good we were not informed that the renovations could still be heard plain as day in the treatment rooms.
I mentioned this to them while we were having our treatments and i seem to have been ignored.
I was not happy that i had to pay for the day spa experience, although they did discount it somewhat to reflect our negative experience.

Service at the pool side bar was great, happy hour and $2.00 cocktails is the ideal way to start off your evening in Siem Riep.

I struggled to choose between 3 and 4 stars for the Borei Angkor. I their conflict resolution was better during our stay then it would even be five stars.

We would definately return one the renovations have been completed.

Room Tip: One bedroom suites overlooking the pool

I would like to extend my personal thanks to you for taking time to comment on our services/facilities during your recent stay with us.

I have made a special note of the points mentioned for our improvement especially during the check in process, spa treatment and dinning experience for which our team has taken immediate action which resulted in new policy in place to ensure our residents get the best experience with our services. And I am pleased to hear you were happy while staying with us. Looking forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to the resort not in far distance

Thank you

My husband and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary here at the Borei Angkor and we were lost for words. The staff here really go out of your way to assist you in whatever you require, very friendly, welcoming smiles all the way!! Because our room was double booked we were upgraded to the Privilege Floor. The rooms are the same, but the little personal touches and own breakfast area overlooking the magnificent view was most enjoyable in the morning. Alex was super. He and his staff on the Privilege Floor made our stay most memorable. In fact, because of the hiccup, Alex gave us 50% discount on any of the spa treatment!! The pool area was small but it was nice and quiet compared to other resorts we have been to. The spa has won awards and I must say, the 2.5hr spa treatment was very relaxing. The massage could be a little stronger but overall, it was a great experience.
Downstairs breakfast has lots of choices but we liked the Privilege Floor with it's added frills. Freshly squeezed juices and herbal tea were served (this you cannot get downstairs in the normal buffet section.
Nothing to fault this hotel except for renovations taking place but we were out most of the day so very little disburbance.
I would come back here in a heartbeat and stay at the Privilege Floor!!!
Thanks Alex and your team. You guys rock!! Hope to see you next summer!!

Room Tip: If you want to be treated like a king and queen, suggest you take a room on the Privilege Floor. Al...
