Borei Angkor Resort & Spa
Ranked #38 of 361 Hotels in Siem Reap
Reviewed 15 March 2014

We stayed at Borei Angkor Resort for 5 nights. We had booked the World Heritage Package (which I would recommend btw) and this included a round trip airport transfer.
The hotel was very beautiful and calm and just outside was the bustling main streets of Siem Reap. The service provided at the hotel is very personal with your own concierge, tour guide and driver. Our rooms (which were on the 2nd floor) were very large and comfortable. I believe there are certain wings of the hotel which are newer. There was also ongoing expansion work going on but this did not bother us.
The tour was a 3 days tour of the famous temples of Siem Reap as well as a boat ride on the Mekong River. The tour guide was very knowledgable and kept a running commentary of everything we were seeing. The good thing was that the schedule was flexible. As the first day was very tiring we took a break the following day and then continued with the remaining tour on the 3rd and 4th days.
The swimming pool is amazing! Very large and clean. The spa is located just next to it. The spa is also very lovely with clean facilities.
Breakfast in the morning was nice and diverse. There are chefs awaiting your orders to make omelettes, noodles, stir fried vegetables or soup.

The only negative things to say about the rooms is:
1. The wall plugs were quite old and I was generally concerned when plugging anything in - including phones, laptops etc. Also the kettle we were provided with was quite old fashioned and also a bit doggy.
2. The bathroom although very large and clean, had an annoying shower. The shower handle was not detachable and also much to high to even try and adjust.

Siem Reap as a city is absolutely lovely. The people are amazing and seem to be always smiling. Tuk tuks are the form of transportation and 4 can sit in 1 tuktuk. It costs about 1-2 US dollars /person. We also went to see Apsara Dancing which is a must in Cambodia.
Massage parlours are plentiful but ask the hotel or your tour guides if they can recommend ones with clean facilities. Massages are generally much cheaper outside the hotel.
The night market is the place to go for shopping for traditional dresses, Tshirts, watches - basically everything is sold there.

Borei Angkor is great place to stay while exploring Siem Reap and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in the newer part of the hotel.

Jenny Leam Sok is the jewel of the Borei. We spent 5 perfect days at the resort enjoying all of its amenities, from the pool to the spa.The staff all very friendly and incredibly helpful, The service on all accounts was 5 star. The breakfast had everything you could possibly want and more. The grounds are spectacular and the resort very quiet, a short tuk tuk ride into town. The highlight of our travels was staying at the Borei. . Thank you Jenny for making it so special.

Room Tip: enjoyed having a pool view

Stayed 4 nights in Borei hotel. Exceeded expectations with very friendly and helpful staff. Was upgraded to suite on arrival with late checkout on departure. Could be better choice of food in the restaurants but breakfast is good. Spa treatments are reasonably priced and they have a very wide selection and daily offers. Highly recommend the spa bath and body scrubs. All in all good value for money.

I spent five nights at the Borei with a friend who was volunteering at one of Siem Reap's non-profit schools. Everything about the Borei was wonderful; lobby, pool, bar, restaurant, gift shop, and grounds. Its a quiet oasis off a very busy street, and only a few minutes tuktuk ride from the river, restaurants, bustling Pub street and the markets. The resort itself is, as one would expect, top notch. But as others have noted, its the staff at the Borei that distinguishes it from other high end resorts. From the moment you walk in the door, every member of the staff makes you feel welcomed, noticed, appreciated and cared for. Quietly considerate, never pushy, but always ready to help with any small request, they made me feel completely and utterly at home. With special thanks to Sean and Alex for their help (above and beyond) throughout our stay, to Socheata in the gift shop for helping me choose silk pillows, and for our lovely conversation, and to Vityec for being the safest driver in my time in Cambodia!

We recently returned from a several week trip through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, and had the great fortune of staying at the Borei Angkor Resort.
Words cannot adequately describe our stay there.
The hotel is spectacular. The design, the sheer opulence, the flowers, the exquisite decor, the world class spa, the food presentation and most of all, the exceptional staff.
Whether it was the driver from the airport, the welcome when we arrived to the hotel, assistance with touring, and the outstanding manager who personally escorted us back to the airport at the end of our visit, we were impressed time and again at the genuine and warm hospitality.
We have travelled all over the world, and have stayed at some of the finest establishments, and in our view, this hotel ranks among the very best. We have already warmly recommended this to our family and friends and would recommend this property to others as well.
Kudos to the management who have taken the concept of service to another level.

This hotel was exceptional. The entrance resembles a museum with water, greenery and a girl playing traditional Khmer music. We were showed a two bed room initially (booked a triple room) but this was fixed after we mentioned it to staff on reception the next day. The rooms are large, and the bathrooms are beautiful.
Reception were more than happy to book restaurants for us and we hired a tuk tuk driver for each day of our trip. The buffet breakfasts were exquisite. It was a joy coming back to the quiet, peaceful resort after a day exploring Angkor wat. Will stay again.

I have stayed twice in this hotel, once for business and once more recently with my husband. Both times the staff and service were excellent -- they couldn't do enough for you. The lobby is elegant with a modern design and beautiful teak wood; and the rooms are also lovely with reliable internet and good lighting. As a swimmer, I can say that the pool is the best I have experienced and not crowded. The food is excellent with plenty of breakfast options. Hotel location is good with cheap, easy tutk tuk transport to the downtown area. As mentioned, the hotel provides complimentary, free transport to and from the airport. This is truly a 5-star hotel with great value for money.

Room Tip: all of the rooms are quiet, large and sunny.
