We only managed to stay 1 night instead of 2 because Agoda messed up our booking. The desk manager Moon was very helpful and despite all efforts, we were unable to stay for the 2nd night and had to look for alternative hotel.

Staff waited patiently for guests at the arriving hall (though we waited for like 20 mins because Agoda cancelled our bookings without our knowledge, but the hotel was kind enough to immediately arrange for another hotel car to fetch us from the airport.) Hotel is grand like any 5 star hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we were served with refreshing lemongrass drink and green bean deserts, while the desk manager was helping us to settle the booking. We booked a room for 3 and was given an extra bed. Room and bathroom were clean and very neat. We had a balcony that over looked the pool but the pool seems small. Breakfast spread was good, with international and local choices. Rooms had free wifi with good connections.

Though we hardly stayed for more than 24 hours, we checked the surrounding and noted that there were several night markets around the hotels. It is quite accessible, with lots of tuk tuk available, though some bargaining needed but as long as your price is reasonable, the tuk tuk drivers are pretty honest people (afterall they are earning a living, not much to be honest) and will bring you to your destination. Do remember to get the hotel staff to speak to the tuk tuk driver of your destination before you hop onto one as most drivers speak very limited English.

A hotel that I would recommend given its good location and attentive staff, and would love to stay for a longer period.

Dear MyBeanie,

Greetings from Borei Angkor Resort & Spa!!

We are very delighted to hear the overall experience you have shared us here was a satisfied one and thank you for your consideration to choose us as the right accommodation you had expected.
We take your comment regarding the pool, perhaps not big enough to meet your expectation while others have also shared us their experience through Wego and TrustYou and lately they officially announced us in the 2nd place of best rated swimming pool among other top 15 hotels in the Asia Pacific region as well (source: http://www.trustyou.com/press/cambodia-tops-15-best-rated-swimming-pools-asia-pacific).

As we keep improving ourselves in terms of services and facilities from time to time, we believe your next experience will make a big difference if you happen to come back and visit us again. Hopefully to see you anytime soon again if possible.

Best regards,

I have stayed here twice over the last few years and both times were blown away by the incredible service of every single person I encountered in the hotel. I can't say enough for the amazing staff and how much they added to my experience.
The rooms were amazing; beautiful, with a lot of intricate wood carving. We had a room on the 4th floor, so we had a balcony and a bathtub on the balcony (we didn't use it, but thought it was cool). Note, if you stay on the 4th floor, you will need to take one set of stairs because it's a new addition (the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor). No big deal, but just a heads up. The bed was a little hared than I would have liked, but the pillows, the sheets, and the amazing curtains (they made the room entirely dark) ensured I had a phenomenal sleep.

We enjoyed a good amount of time by the pool, taking advantage of the happy hour specials. There is one from 6-8 by the pool that is 50% off drinks (good deal!). My boyfriend and I also enjoyed some spa treatments (we did a full body massage and a foot massage). I'd recommend seeing if they have any special deals as those prices are much better than those that were listed in the spa book.

Overall, I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. For what it costs, it is definitely amazing value. Lots of love for Angkor Borei!

Room Tip: 4th floors have a balcony and outdoor tub, but you'll need to take an extra set of stairs to acc...

Had a nice 4 nights stay in Borei Angkor on my recent trip to Siem Reap.

Greeted with smiles and greetings from the start till the end seriously makes one feels like going back home.

Apart from the slightly old fashioned looking rooms and unstable Internet connection, my friend and I were grateful to have chosen this place to stay during our recent trip there.

Thank you to Borei and we will definitely see you again soon.

Special shoutout to Roma, our driver for 2 days and Laura, the trainee that gave us information whenever we asked her. Thank you so much!

Greetings from Borei Angkor Resort & Spa!!

Thank you very much for sharing us your review here. We are delighted to hear the overall experience that you had made you feel like home and wanted to come back again. We are looking at the improvement area from our ISP regarding the unstable internet connection provided throughout the property to ensure it’s perfectly working well for the rest of other guests too.

We will share your kind words to Roma and Laura for the good job they’ve done and we would like to convey our thankfulness to you on behalf of them and the entire team for giving us the opportunity to serve you during your stay here. We do hope you will come back and let us serve you better during your next visit.

The resort is well located, about 15 mins from the airport a about 5-7 min tuktuk from the city center. We got away with paying most tuktuks $1usd for a trip to the city.

On arrival the place seems quite daunting as the resort and even the lobby of the hotel is massive. The customer service and cleanliness is also very good and the buffet breakfast was great, just like all the other 3 and 4 star hotels ive stayed at previously.

Why this isnt the perfect hotel:

1.Bad communication
We booked the landmark room for 4 nights online and even before we arrived we had issues communicating with the hotel via email to arrange our airport transfer. The hotel did not even respond to multiple emails and i kept sending the same message to them until they finally replied.

2. Crap internet
The wireless and hard wired internet are incredibly slow and when i say incredibly, some of your stuff wont even load. If you stay here, pick up a 3G sim and tether from your phone, it will be alot faster and you will have no restictions on web access. i did notice a few US based sites(nothing illegal) were blocked through their proxy.

3. Staff hassle you
We didn't want room service for a few days and we told them know when we left our rooms. Later on both days we were asked again and then someone even called us.....

4. The shower head.... Oh god the shower head
In the landmark room, the shower head is not adjustable and is aimed so the water is hits half way up the wall. So you are basically standing in a shower where you can only stand in the front 1/4 because the water will only hit your head if you stand in the middle.

Its a good 3.5 star hotel, nothing perfect about it. Would i recommend it??? Yes, but consider other options first.

Dear Jason C,

Greetings from Borei Angkor Resort & Spa!!

Thank you for taking your time to review your experience with us here. We have learnt the response from our team somehow took a bit of time and we will reinforce on the speed as instantly as possible. Technically, we provide an internet speed of 4MB per device throughout the property, however, we agree that the connection isn’t working properly at the moment and this is something we are already working with our internet service provider to fix it as soon as possible. Regarding room service and the shower head, we will look into those areas to ensure such an incident will never happen again.

Again, we do appreciate for sharing us your comments here, so there are areas where we can move further and hope that we will make a big difference if you ever come back and give us the opportunity to serve you again.

From the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out, our stay at Borei was truly memorable. Thanks to Jenny for her outstanding hospitality and Daniel for his attention to detail, we were literally pampered. We had a lovely anniversary cake in our room upon arrival, breakfast was amazingly varied from fruits and pancakes to noodles, friendly tour desk that takes care of our travel needs and the awesome pool that our boys enjoyed everyday. The only setback we had throughout our stay was the lack of WiFi connection in our room and a brief blackout one late evening. This resort is also centrally located; 5 minutes to Old Market area and close to the temples of Angkor. Definitely one of the best, if not No. 1 in Cambodia.

Borei Angkor is a beautiful hotel, the staff are super friendly and helpful and all speak very good English.

The buffet breakfast is excellent and caters for everyone (us Veggies included!)

The pool is divine and you also have access to jacuzzi, cold jacuzzi, sauna and steam room included in your room price.

The rooms are spacious and lush and have balconies (although we didn't use ours).

The spa is lovely and the masseuse are very professional, if you grab the 'deal of the day'', you're on to a winner as my boyfriend and i had a full body massage, full body scrub and facial for $50 each.

The business centre downstairs was very useful for keeping in contact with family back home and to upload your photos onto fb. Although you have free wi fi in your rooms and all around the hotel.

The hotel staff rung our next hotel in Phnom Penh to tell them we were going to arrive late, we loved it so much here that we stayed anther day.

Serious luxury at a pretty decent price. :)

I am so glad I booked a room at Borei Angkor! I got a Landmark Room, it was huge and had a beautiful view of the pool.

The staff arranged for pickup from the airport and we were greeted by Darwind when we arrived at the hotel. He checked us in quickly, provided all the information we could possibly want to know, and showed us to our room. The room was decorated beautifully, the tub was filled and ready to use, with champagne on ice and a fruit platter to enjoy.

The breakfast buffet is included in the price and is wonderful!! The perfect way to fuel up before a long day exploring.

The pool area was nice, there were plenty of chairs and drink service to your seat.

If you have time, book in for a treatment at the spa, you won't regret it!

Overall, one of the nicest and friendliest places I've been lucky enough to stay at.
